S STRADA TRENCH CONVECTORS TRADA C OMPREHENSIVE T RENCH C ONVECTOR RA NGE S trada supply trench convectors to encompass the entire range of both hot water and e lectric models. C O NCEPTS T rench Convectors have become an accepted means of perimeter & general h eating. The use of these systems is particularly appropriate in areas with full height glazing, such as entrance halls, atriums, conservatories, pool surrounds, public areas, concourses, corridors and g eneral offices, etc. T rench Convector systems can be continuous, extended with dummy lengths and corners etc, or i ndividual modules. A ll can be converted to above floor Perimeter heaters via the fitting of our colour matched facias. e t PR ODUCTS N atural LTHW Trench Convectors Natural Electric Trench Convector s R ECENT CO NTRACTS N atural Electric T rench Convectors H SBC Tower, Canary Wharf, London L a Glacerie Offices, Ashford, Kent H avens Innovations, Ipswich 4 Folgate Street, London, EC1 D ebenhams Store, Carlisle 1, Knightsbridge Green, London, SW X scape Centre, Castleford, W.Yorks. S TRADA T RENCH H E ATING E NGINEERING SP ECIFICATIONS C A SING: Casings are manufactured from 1. mm zintec steel sheet with a matt black paint finish to the inside face. C asings supplied in max metre lengths as standard, a nd may be site cut to lengths if required. Cross- braces, element supports and air splitter plates are formed from 1. mm zintec steel with matching p aint finish. LE VELLING: L evelling feet are provided at nominal 500 mm centres along the length of the casings, with M8 machine bolts fitted through clinch nuts set into the base of the casing. The feet offer height adjustment of 0 mm. Between e ach set of feet a 10 mm fixing hole is provided to enable t he casing to be firmly fixed in place after levelling. ( Fixings sup plied & fitted by others). c Jasing O INTIN byg means : of M6 nuts and bolts. Casing sections and end caps are joined by means of horizontal slip joints pop riveted together. 5 mm of h orizontal adjustment is available on each joint. W IDTH CO NTROL: C ross braces are fitted into self locating joggles at nominally 500 mm centres along the length of the casing, to maintain the casing width during the integration of the casing onto the floor structure. Note that, Trench casings are constructed to take vertical load and that their lateral stability is provided by thei r close fitting i nto t he surrounding floor or building structure. G STRADA LTHW NATURAL TRENCH CONVECTORS RILLE FR AME: The grille frame is an extruded aluminium section with a silver anodised finish as standard, the section has b een specially shaped to be self locking o nto the top edge of the casing section. F inal fixing being by pop rivets fitted at 1 metre centres along the run. G rille fr ames are supplied in metre lengths. GR ILLES: rilles are manufactured from a unique T G rilles are manufactured from a T section a luminium extrusion and have a silver anodised finish to AA15. The blades are mechanically bonded onto high- density precision black nylon rods, which offer good rigidity whilst giving excellent flexibility. Grilles are supplied in 1-m etre lengths as standard and can be easily cut to f inal site requirements. The load bearing capability of trench Casings is largely dependent on the width of the grille span and the free area of the grille. However tests carried out on casings at the C ranfield Institute of Technology show that a 50kg load evenly distributed centrally on a 100mm square area of a 00mm wide 60% Free Area flexible grille would give a s afety factor of. CO NTROL: A control valve on the feed pipe work can b e remotely actuated by either, A capillary linked wall mounted temperature c ontroller, An electrically linked wall mounted time and t emperature controlling thermostat or, via links to a BMS (building Management S ystem).

E STRADA ELECTRIC NATURAL TRENCH CONVECTORS LECTRIC U NITS F OR N ATURAL CO NVECTION Strada Elecon T1 Trench convectors are electrically operated. One standard size is available, 100 mm long x 05 mm w ide x 15 mm deep. Special size units can also be made to specific order. U nits can be built up in multiples as required incorporating dummy sections. N atural convective units require freedom of air movement in order to operate safely and efficiently. W hen the trench casing is to be sited adjacent to an external wall, the heating element section should be located on the room side. This will allow cold down draught from the outside wall to enter the intake side of the casing thus maximizing t he efficiency of the heater. I t is important that any curtains, drapes or blinds never rest directly onto th e grille, allowing adequate clearance. Should the convector become covered and airflow through the casing is reduced, the integral high level safety thermostat will shut off the heater at approximately 70ºc and will automatically reset when t he temperatur e within the casing drops below 55ºc.
