Overview OVERVIEW Introduction The CODE ALERT Enterprise Software System is a web based application and is designed to provide a reliable and easy-touse nurse call and wander management system for Independent and Assisted Living facilities. NOTE: Prior to using the system, ensure that your system administrator has configured rooms and mobile devices (wander transmitters and pendants) within the system. If they are not, please contact your system administrator to configure these before proceeding. NOTE: If when opening the application, you are prompted that the site cannot be accessed or the site is unsecure, please contact your system administrator to properly configure the certificate on your workstation. Login Web Browser Typically you will login to the Code Alert software via a Favorite/Bookmark on your web browser, but you can also access it directly through your desktop or by using the server name. 1. Overview Server Name 1. Open your Web Browser 2. Enter the server name https:// /Client 3. Enter your Username and Password (NOTE: this information is case sensitive) 4. Press Enter or click the Login button 5. The Client application opens Using the System Once the client application is open, the icon for the tab (Alarms, Residents, or Maps) you are currently on will display as dark blue while the others will display as a light blue color. The default view is the Alarms page but that can be changed in Client Configuration. NOTE: The system will automatically log off after 5 minutes of inactivity. Overview Help Help can be obtained by clicking the Help link at the bottom of the page. Map View This will open the Help menu and from there, you can click the links to open the User Guide and the Administrator Guide. NOTE: This feature requires that you are logged into the system in order to be able to view the maps unless the client s default view is maps. This feature is NOT available on mobile clients. The map view page is divided into three separate sections: Available Maps: Displays all available maps within the system. Overview Available Maps Active Alarms: Displays all the active alarms within the system. All maps within the system are available to view regardless of the client monitoring station you are at. To view different maps, click on the name under Available Maps on the left-hand side of the screen and the new map will load. The number of active alarms on any given map will be displayed to the left of the map name. Active Alarms All active alarms within the system are displayed regardless of the client monitoring station you are at. From here you can claim and classify any of the alarms within the system, as well as view the progress of those alarms. Code Alert Enterprise Software User Guide Page 9 of 56

Overview Map The map view displays the currently selected map along with any active alarms for devices associated/assigned to that map. NOTE: Even though all active alarms are displayed on this page, only the alarms associated/assigned to the map will display on the map itself. When multiple alerts of the same kind in the same place are detected, the map will display one alarm with the quantity listed in parenthesis instead of repeating the alerts on the map. Display When any device associated with a room goes into alarm, the room icon will display on the map. When a fixed device not associated with a room (i.e.: public restroom or dining room) goes into alarm, the device icon will display on the map. Zoom Built into the map view is the ability to pan and zoom the map using either the provided slide bar at the top of the map or by using the mouse scroll wheel. Overview To quickly return the map to a centered and 100% view, click the Default View button. Alert Details You have the ability to hide the location and alarm type and display just the icon on the map. To do this, click the Hide Details button at the top of the screen (Note: you can still view the details if you want by hovering the mouse over the icon). To display the alert details (this is the default setting), click the Show Details button at the top of the screen. Hide Details Show Details NOTE: Any changes to the settings you make on the map view will hold for your current session as long as you stay on the Maps tab. Desktop Client DESKTOP CLIENT Residents Page The Residents page allows you to add, update, and remove residents from the system, change their status, view individual resident activity reports, as well as add new pendants to the system. Resident information is divided into three (3) categories: Basic Information resident name Facility Information resident unit/room assignment and check-in schedule Mobile Devices pendants, wander transmitters, and/or chair sensors assigned to the resident Code Alert Enterprise Software User Guide Page 13 of 56

Desktop Client Add Residents How do I add a resident and assign a pendant or wander transmitter already configured in the system? 1. Login then click the Residents Link at the top of the page 2. Click Add a Resident 3. The Add a Resident window opens 4. Enter the resident s First and Last Name 5. Select a Unit 6. Select a Room 7. Select the appropriate mobile device (Pendant, Wander transmitter, or Chair Sensor) for the resident 8. If applicable, select a Resident Check-In Schedule. Desktop Client NOTE: If a default has been setup by your administrator, this field will automatically be filled in. If a check-in schedule is not configured in your system, the field will automatically display No Check-In Required. If no check-in schedule is required for the resident but check-in has been configured in your system, you must select No Check-In Required. 9. Click the Add Resident button 10. Repeat as necessary How do I add a resident and assign a new pendant not configured in the system yet? 1. Login then click the Residents Link at the top of the page 2. Click Add a Resident 3. The Add a Resident window opens 4. Enter the resident s First and Last Name 5. Select a Unit 6. Select a Room 7. Click the Add New Pendant button 8. Alarm the new pendant and reset it immediately 9. Once the pendant is listed, click on the ID number to select it 10. If applicable, select a Resident Check-In Schedule 11. Click the Add Resident button 12. Desktop Client Modify Resident Information Basic information, facility information, and mobile device information associated with a specific resident can be modified on the individual resident s page. How do I change a resident s name? 1. From the Residents page, click on the resident s name 2. Click the edit pencil next to the Name field 3. Make the appropriate change(s) and click the Update Name button 4. An Update Successful message is displayed in green at the bottom of the page 5. Desktop Client How do I change or remove a resident s check-in schedule: 1. From the Residents page, click on the resident s name 2. Click the edit pencil next to the Check-In field 3. To change the schedule, select the appropriate option from the drop-down list 4. To remove the check-in schedule from the resident record, select No Check-In Required 5. An Update Successful message is displayed in green at the bottom of the page 6. Click the Done button to return to the Residents page Change Mobile Device(s) The mobile devices section allows you to add, update, and/or remove pendants, wander transmitters and/or chair sensors from a resident s record. NOTE: Any mobile device in active alarm CANNOT be changed or removed from a resident until the alert has been addressed. A resident cannot be marked as OFF SITE if their mobile device is in active alarm. If a mobile device is off site but in active alarm (for example, resident taken to the hospital while wearing their pendant), your system administrator must remove or disable the device within the system. Desktop Client How do I change a resident s pendant device assignment? 1. From the Residents page, click on the resident s name 2. Click the edit pencil next to the Pendant field 3. To change the pendant assignment, select the correct pendant from the drop-down list, or click the Add New Pendant button to assign a pendant not yet in the system 4. If adding a new pendant, alarm the pendant and reset it immediately then once the pendant is listed, click on the ID number to select it 5. To remove the pendant assignment, select No Pendant 6. An Update Successful message is displayed in green at the bottom of the page 7. Click the Done button to return to the Residents page How do I change a resident s wander transmitter device assignment? 1. From the Residents page, click on the resident s name 2. Click the edit pencil next to the Transmitter field 3. To change the wander transmitter assignment, select the correct transmitter from the drop-down list 4. From the Residents page, click on the resident s name 2. Click the edit pencil next to the Chair Sensor field 3. To change the chair sensor assignment, select the correct sensor from the drop-down list 4. To remove the sensor assignment, choose No Chair Sensor 5. An Update Successful message is displayed in green at the bottom of the page 6. Click the Done button to return to the Residents page Change Site Status A resident s status can be changed to show as Off Site when they will be away from the facility for a period of time. How do I change a resident s status to show as being off site? 1. From the Residents page, click on the resident s name 2. Click the OFF SITE button 3. Desktop Client How do I change a resident s status to show that they are on site? There are a couple of ways to return the resident s status to On Site. 1. From the Residents page, click on the resident s name 2. Click the ON SITE button 3. An Update Successful message is displayed in green at the bottom of the page 4. Click the Done button to return to the Residents page --Or-- 1. Once the resident is back in the facility, alarm the resident s pendant 2. The status will automatically change to On Site Transfer The transfer feature allows for a resident to be moved (transferred) from one unit to another unit or between rooms within the same unit. NOTE: A resident with a device in active alarm CANNOT be transferred until the alert has been addressed. A resident cannot be transferred if they are marked as being OFF SITE. How do I transfer a resident that has a QR+ pendant or chair sensor assigned to them? 1. From the Residents page, click on the resident s name 2. Click the Transfer button next to the Unit-Room field Page 20 of 56 Code Alert Enterprise Software User Guide

Desktop Client 3. Select a new unit assignment from the drop-down list if moving to another unit within the facility 4. Select the new room assignment from the drop-down list (if the room does not appear in the list, you may need to select a different unit first) 5. The Transfer button changes to processing (transfer is immediate) 6. When the Transfer button displays again, click the Done button to return to the Residents page How do I transfer a resident that has a 9450 wander transmitter assigned to them to another room within the same unit? 1. From the Residents page, click on the resident s name 2. Click the Transfer button next to the Unit-Room field 3. Select the new room assignment from the drop-down list (if the room does not appear in the list, you may need to select a different unit first) 4. The Transfer button changes to processing (transfer is immediate) 5. Desktop Client How do I transfer a resident that has a 9450 wander transmitter assigned to them to another unit within the facility? 1. From the Residents page, click on the resident s name 2. Click the Transfer button next to the Unit-Room field 3. Select a new unit assignment from the drop-down list 4. Select the new room assignment from the drop-down list 5. The Transfer button changes to Cancel Transfer 6. Click the Done button to return to the Residents page 7. The Residents page will display Transfer in Progress next to the resident s name 8. Desktop Client Remove Residents How do I remove a resident from the system? 1. From the Residents page, click on the resident s name 2. Click the Remove Resident button 3. The button will change to Confirm Remove? You must click the button again in order to remove the resident. Resident Reports Reports for residents are available within their individual records. To view a resident report: 1. From the Residents page, click on the resident s name 2. In the Reports section, click the activity link for either the Last 7 Days or Last 30 Days reports 3. Export the report to a.pdf file,.csv file, or email 4. Once exported, you can view, save, or print the report 5. Close the report view page 6. Click the Done button to return to the Residents page 7. Mobile Client MOBILE CLIENT Residents Page Like the Residents page on the Desktop Client, you can add, update, and remove residents from the system, change their status, as well add new pendants to the system. Reports however are not available on the Mobile Client. Resident information is divided into three (3) categories: Basic Information resident name Facility Information resident unit/room assignment and checkin schedule Mobile Devices pendants, wander transmitters, and/or chair sensors assigned to the resident Depending upon your screen size, you may need to scroll to view all the information. Select the appropriate mobile device (Pendant or Wander transmitter) 8. If applicable, select a Chair Sensor for the resident 9. If applicable, select a Resident Check-In Schedule. Alerts ALERTS Alerts Alerts are displayed sequentially as they occur, by priority (in order of newest to oldest), and are color coded according to the alert type. Flashing Red Top Priority Red High Priority Yellow Medium Priority (Equipment) Gray Care Classification only When an event occurs an alarm is sounded and a message is displayed on the Client computer(s) monitoring the device or resident s room. The number located after ALARMS is the number of all active alarms for areas the client computer is monitoring. Once the alarm is reset, the flashing red alarm message will disappear and a gray alarm message will display on the client computer. NOTE: When a device displays a depleted battery alarm, try replacing the battery. If that doesn t work then the entire device must be replaced. Door Alarm indicates that an alert has been activated at an exterior door or exit. If the resident is in range of multiple doors, the door that is displayed at the Client computer is the door that first reported the wander transmitter. Common Causes A resident with a wander transmitter remains in range of a monitored door for longer than the Loiter Delay Low Temp indicates that the ambient temperature is below the pre-defined thresholds. These types of alerts indicate that the connection to the server has been lost for the mobile device. Common Causes Wi-Fi connection was lost Server is down The System Down Alarm occurs when the connection from the port server to the computer is lost, when connected hardware (network coordinator, Comp2 paging base, or TAP paging base) fails, or when internal components fail. When this happens, alerts coming in are no longer transferring to the Server. Alerts System is Down System is Down indicates that all communications between the server and client computer has been lost. The system is in a non-functional state and must be addressed immediately. NOTE: A System Down alarm will automatically clear when communications with the Server is restored. It cannot be cleared by the user. How do I respond to a system down alert?
