COMUNE DI CASTELVECCHIO DI ROCCA BARBENA Waste collection service for domestic and nondomestic users

A new waste collection service has been activated at Castelvecchio di Rocca Barbena Municipality. The following materials can be recycled with a curbside collection mode: paper and cardboard, plastic packaging, glass and cans, organic waste and non-recyclable waste. Understand how high the production of household waste is and how it is important to perform a careful recycling and to limit the production of waste. Separate the material in the right way following the guidance provided by the Municipality. Recycling is a legal requirement but also a way to respect the environment. Do the recycling means not to occupy areas in our territory with landfills and to avoid the waste of materials which can be reused to produce new objects. Recycling grows every year thanks to people cooperation but we need to do more to satisfy the law requirements. The help of everyone is important to achieve satisfying results.

PAPER AND CARDOBOARD All the paper and cardboard packaging, Tetrapak packaging (for milk, fruit juice and food), copy paper, newspaper, magazines, brochure, agenda, paper calendar, paper egg packaging, paper bags, paper and cardboard boxes (for pasta, biscuits ), clean cardboard pizza packaging. Oil paper, fax paper, baking paper, wet paper, wall paper, hygienic paper (tissues, napkins), dirty paper, receipts, films or dirty cardboard pizza packaging (these objects are non-recyclable waste). Place the waste DIRECTLY (without any bag) into the yellow waste caddy. The waste caddy should be left out the house or bordering the main road from 8.00 PM of the previous day (Tuesday) to 6.00 AM of WEDNESDAY. Paper and cardboard should be clean. Reduce the volume of the packaging; fold the big cardboard and place them near the waste caddy.

PLASTIC PACKAGING Plastic packaging, plastic bottles, detergent containers, polystyrene packaging, plastic bags (including coffee, biscuits and snacks bags), plastic food jars, fruits and vegetables nets, plastic crates, cellophane, clothes hangers including metal hooks, plates and plastic cups (no plastic cutlery), plastic egg packaging, yogurt jar, plastic flowerpots excluding the flowerpot saucer. Plastic buckets, washbowls and colanders, plastic folder, building materials (cables and pipes), CDs, blenders, toys, glasses, rubber items, diapers, pens or markers, plastic cutlery, biodegradable and compostable bags, syringes, flowerpot saucers. Place the waste in the yellow plastic bag and place it into the yellow waste caddy. The waste caddy should be left out the house or bordering the main road from 8.00 PM of the previous day (Thursday) to 6.00 AM of FRIDAY. It is not necessary to wash the packaging but remove the food excess and reduce the volume of packaging.

Glass bottles, glass jar, glass shard from jars, steel or aluminium food cans, jar caps, cans (ACC, AL), and aluminium foil. Packaging full of food, porcelain, ceramics, mirrors, lamps, objects in Pyrex glass, pots, pans, crystal items, tiles, parts of appliances, glass sheets, plastic bags. GLASS PACKAGING AND CANS Place the waste DIRECTLY (without any bag) into the yellow waste caddy. The waste caddy should be left out the house or bordering the main road from 8.00 PM of the previous day (Wednesday) to 6.00 AM of THURSDAY. It is not necessary to wash the packaging but remove the food excess and reduce the volume of cans.

Leftover fruit and vegetable scraps, raw and cooked food scraps, paper towels, stale bread, coffee grounds, tea bags, leftover meat and bones (small bones), ash (in small quantities), flowers and leaves, small pieces of wood, cork stoppers and expired food. Animal faeces, diapers, sanitary napkins and rags. O R G A N I C W A S T E M A T E R I A L Place the waste in the compostable bag and place it into the brown waste caddy. The waste caddy should be left out the house or bordering the main road at TUESDAY and SATURDAY from October to May and TUESDAY, THURSDAY and SATURDAY from June to September from 8.00 PM of the previous day to 6.00 AM of the collection day. People who have a garden and have the possibility to install, for free, a home composter can apply at the municipal offices.

N O N - R E C Y C A B L E W A S T E Dirty or oil paper, rubber items, rags, plastified paper, ceramic, paper laminated with other materials (cold cuts paper), large bones, animal litter, make-up, videotapes, CDs and DVDs, magnetic cards, mirrors, pens, photographic films, sponges, vacuum cleaner bags, markers, pencil cases, brushes and toothbrushes, backpacks, razors, toys (nonelectrical), big quantities of polystyrene, x-rays, pencil cases, plastic cutlery, cigarette butt, baking paper, plastic objects, big quantities of ash, clothing in poor conditions, diapers and sanitary napkins. All the recyclable materials, liquid waste, hazardous waste, bulky items, electronical waste and light bulbs. Place the waste in the green plastic bag and place it into the yellow waste caddy. The waste caddy should be left out the house or bordering the main road from 8.00 PM of the previous day (Saturday) to 6.00 AM of MONDAY. It is not necessary to wash the packaging but remove the content excess and reduce the volume.

USED ELECTRICAL BATTERIES Electrical batteries (for remote control, watches, household appliances and phones). Car batteries Suitable containers are available in the territory. OUT-OF-DATE MEDICINES Out-of-date medicines without their packaging. The paper packaging are part of paper collection, while the empty blister is a plastic packaging. Waste from hospital activities. A suitable container is available at the pharmacy.

Baby and adult diapers, sanitary napkins. DIAPERS Place the waste in a plastic bag and insert it in the red containers available in the territory. Vegetable oils used in the kitchen (frying oil). EXHAUSTED VEGETABLE OIL Pour the exhausted oil into the suitable containers available in the village. USED CLOTHING IN GOOD CONDITIONS Clothing and shoes in good conditions. Suitable containers are available in the village. Clothing and shoes in bad conditions are non-recycable waste.

B U L KY I T E M S BULKY ITEMS: objects that take up space and cannot be disposed in the other waste collections. Old furniture, mattresses, small and big household appliances (iron, refrigerators, televisions, washing machines), bikes, computers, tires, light bulbs and neon. The collection service for bulky waste is for free. The waste collection should be booked by calling at the toll-free number 800.88.44.33 from Monday to Friday from 8.30 to 12.30 AM.
