All Best hoods represent superior quality, reliability and efficiency while maintaining a competitive edge. Controls Best uses a number of function control solutions, from the simple slider type keys to the more sophisticated electronic control systems and warnings, to the Advanced Sensor Control which automatically activates and regulates the hood. Each type of control is selected with complete efficiency in mind. Lighting A very important function of the hood, besides purifying the air, is that of creating ambiance and lighting the cooking area. Best uses a variety of technologies to produce high quality lighting, from incandescent lamps to halogen lamps to Led lighting which guarantees energy saving, for example two halogen lights need 40 watts, but 3 led micro spot lights only need 9 watts and have a life of up to 40,000 hours. Certifications To ensure the safety and the quality of its products, Best voluntarily complies with the NEMKO European certification. This is in addition to the CE certification. NEMKO, is one of the most prestigious independent Institutes of European Certifications, and the products manufactured by Best are subjected to rigorous tests against discerning standards. The production process also undergoes on-going periodic monitoring to maintain quality levels. The NEMKO certification provides a guarantee that the products have been manufactured in compliance with all safety requirements and verified by a third party. BEST SUPPORT CLEAR CONSUMER INFORMATION. BEST, along with the best european home appliance brands, supports the of Conduct promoted by CECED. How the extractor hoods work. Most cooker hoods operate in both duct out mode and recycling mode. Duct out mode is where the air is sucked up the hood, fats are trapped by the grease filters and then odours, fumes and condensation are expelled out through an exterior wall via the ducting pipe. Recycling mode, sucks the air up into the hood, fats are trapped by the grease filters, the air then passes through charcoal filters which absorb the cooking odours, the purified air is then recirculated back into the room. Which system should one choose? The choice depends firstly on whether it is possible to install a duct out pipe system, and secondly on energy saving considerations. Ducted out hoods The ducting out mode offers greater advantages in eliminating unpleasant odors, as well as steam and condensation, but requires specific installation with pipe work and an exterior wall through which to expel the air. The shortest length of ducting pipes with the minimum amount of bends should be used to ensure optimum performance of the hood. All ducting outlets are 150mm diameter which also maximizes efficiency; anything smaller will reduce effectiveness and increase noise levels. Maximum length of ducting runs should be 4 metres one 90 bend; 3 metres and two 90 bends; 2 metres and 3 90 bends Please note that ducting must not be connected to any other existing ventilation or flue systems. If a ducted hood is to be installed into a room containing a fossil fuel burning appliance such as a gas or oil central heating boiler, then its flue must be of Style & Lifestyle Technologies the room sealed or balanced flue type. A ducted hood is not suitable for use in a room where any open flue is in use, as dangerous fumes of combustion can be sucked back into the room (appliances include central heating boilers, coal fires, log fires, gas fires, wood burning stoves etc). The above is a requirement of UK and European legislation and is in the interests of safety. Energy consumption is another consideration. While the hood is in operation it removes air from the room. If the room is heated centrally, then the warm air is removed, lowering the temperature and perhaps encouraging the heating system to work harder to maintain the required temperature. To further ensure maximum performance, the metal grease filters should be removed and washed in neutral detergent every 2 or 3 months depending type and amount of cooking. Synthetic filters should be changed approximately every month. Recycling Mode In the recycling mode, air is sucked up into the hood, fats are trapped by the grease filters, the air then passes through charcoal filters which absorb the cooking odours, the purified air is then recirculated back into the room. Sometimes it is impossible to fit a ductable system, so using the hood in recycling mode is the only option. This is the simplest system to install as no additional pipe work is required. To guarantee continued maximum efficiency regular maintenance is required; removal and cleaning of the metal grease filters in neutral detergent should be carried out every 2 or 3 months depending on type and amount of cooking ; if they are synthetic then they should be changed approximately every month and the charcoal odour filters should be changed about every 2 or 3 months. Best supply a large rang e of recycle only hoods which while highly energy efficient are also extremely effective at removing odours and fats from the air. Ducted out hoods Recycling Mode External/Remote Motors. Many Best models can be equipped with an external or remote motor. An external motor is whereby all the relevant mechanical parts which operate the motor are contained in a stainless steel box which can easily be sited outside the house, for instance on the roof or on a wall. A remote motor is a similar principle and is sited outside the hood but inside the house, in the attic or in an adjacent space. The greatest advantage of either of these is the huge reduction in noise while maintaining maximum efficiency. Technologies Style & Lifestyle Correct Airflow Levels. Choosing the appropriate extraction power of the hood (airflow) generally depends on the size of the kitchen and the kind of cooking that takes place there. The air capacity of a hood is expressed in cubic meters/hour (m3/h), and represents the quantity of air which the hood is able to extract at maximum speed, measured according to international standard IEC EN 61591. To calculate the appropriate airflow level for your kitchen, multiply the volume of your kitchen by ten. For example: if your kitchen is 3 meters wide, 5 meters long and 2.7 meters high, your calculation would be: (3,00x5,00x2,70) x 10 = 405 This would mean, a hood with an extraction of 400 m 3 /h. or more will achieve efficient ventilation of the room. If, you often cook fish, fried foods, grilled meat or other dishes which produce a large quantity of smoke, grease and odours, we advise that you select a hood with an even greater air capacity. Best offer a wide choice of hoods with air flow levels of up 1000 m 3 /h. 3 mt 5 mt 2,7 mt Air filter. Depending on the model chosen, the hood has different filtering modes. To guarantee continued maximum efficiency regular maintenance is required; removal and cleaning of the metal grease filters in neutral detergent should be carried out every 2 or 3 months depending on type and amount of cooking; if they are synthetic then they should be changed approximately every month. Traditionally the recycling odour filters are made of activated carbon and should be changed about every 2 or 3 months. BEST support clear consumer information. All brands supporting the of Conduct commit to supplying clear performance data on cooker hoods, measured according to common standards. PLUS Advanced Sensor Control It is an effective automatic system which detects any smell, smoke or gas that may be present with heat and steam in the kitchen, by activating and adjusting the cooker hood in order to filtrate or eliminate them. Very handy for automatism lovers, the system may be disconnected at any time by the user, returning the hood to the traditional manual control. Energy Saving Product The hoods using the innovative three-phase motors technology, developed in co-operation with Elektromec company part of BEST Group - allow an average 55% energy save in comparison with hoods featuring traditional motors. Best Silence tech Research in the field of motors, fluid dynamics and acoustics helped Best produce hoods with particularly low levels of noise, hardly detectable at low speeds, still providing aspiration effectiveness and extremely high levels of air. Best hoods featuring this kind of technology are among the most silent ones available today on the market. LED Technology State-of-the-art lighting systems feature LED technology (light emitting diodes), with main features being extremely low energy consumption (3 watts per LED) and a basically unlimited lifespan (over 40.000 hours!). Several BEST models rely on such technology for both its technological features and for its particularly small dimensions, which allow new aestethic solutions. Perimeter Aspiration Perimeter aspiration is a mechanical system whereby smoke, steam and smell coming from the cooking hob are forced to go through aspiration sections placed along the perimeter of the hood, therefore producing a pleasant aesthetic effect also in the lower part of the hood, by hiding fat filters, and still maintaining an highly effective aspiration. Timer Available on several models equipped with electronic control, it allows the user to turn it off automatically after 5 minutes of functioning. Aspiration speeds are adjustable for maximum comfort. Hood will turn off once the environment has been effectively cleaned. Standard or Back Aspiration During installation this technology allows the positioning of the air outlet in two modes: Standard Aspiration, the air outlet is located in the upper part of the hood in filtering or aspiration mode, the latter with the use of a visible aesthetic tube; Back Aspiration, the air outlet only in aspiration mode, is located in the back part of the hood in the same opening in the wall for fume extraction, without the use of aesthetic tubes. Remote Control Remote control is nowadays an indispensable accessory in any house. BEST remote control boasts technology and design, it is manufactured in shining steel and allows the user to control fully and remotely the several functions of the hood. 08999166 08999116
