Pumping To prevent back flow, always use the breast pump while upright. 1. Place the breast shield on your breast so that your nipple is centered within breast shield. **Note** Be sure you have the correct size breastshield for optimal pumping. 2. Turn the Breast Pump on to begin pumping. 3. Adjust the Speed/Vacuum settings to a comfortable level. 4. Normal pumping time ranges from 15 to 30 minutes; time can vary based on the individual. 5. When your pumping session is over, turn off the power and slide a finger between the breast shield and your breast to break the seal and separate. Breastshield Sizing It is important to have the correct size breastshield when pumping. The fitting of the breastshield is important because a proper seal can determine how much milk is extracted and make your pumping session easier. To choose the correct size breastshield, measure the diameter of swollen nipple and choose the breastshield that is 2-3 millimeters wider than the nipple. For a good fit, the nipple should fit into the breastshield neck, but should still have a room to move around. Also, keep in mind that your breastshield size can change throughout your entire experience. Motif Medical offers breastshields in the following sizes: 21 millimeters 24 millimeters 27 millimeters

Expression Mode This Expression Mode also operates on 10 suction levels. The Expression Mode is used for a stronger pull. You can increase the suction by turning up the suction level or decrease the suction turning down the suction level.
