Applications The self priming side channel rotary pumps of SVA range are intended to pump clean liquids without solids up to 90 o C. The pumps equipped with mechanical seal are used for pumping flammable liquids such as diesel fuel, petrol, lamp oil, alcohol, kerosene, benzol mixtures, etc. of temperature class T1-T4, in Zone 1 or 2. The pump with gland packing can be used for pumping clean water or other clean liquids. It is possible to use these pumps also for pumping oils of kinematic viscosity up to 37 mm 2.s -1 (cst). Self priming ability is their main advantage (suction head up to 8m). Description The pumps of SVA range are of rotary, self-priming, sidechannel, horizontal design coupled with flexible coupling to driving motor. The pump consists of suction body, discharge body, suction insert, discharge insert, bearing housing, stuffing box cover, shaft with impellers and bearings. The impellers are of starrunner design. Both suction and discharge branch are always arranged upward, which mean that the pump is all the time filled with the pumped liquid. The suction body is equipped with filling plug and drain plug. The suction and delivery inserts including impellers in number depending on the pressure required are put between the suction body and the discharge body. This subassembly is clamped with clamping bolts. The shaft at suction side is supported on sliding bush (bearing) which is cooled with pumped liquid. The shaft at discharge side is supported on ball bearing. The shaft is sealed with gland rope packing, that is pressed with stuffing box cover (glands) and two bolts, or with mechanical seal. The sizes 20, 25, 32-SVA can be supplied in foot-design. The pump foot is part of the discharge pump body. The sizes 25 and 32-SVA can be also supplied in flange design. In such case they are mounted on a bellhouse together with flanged electric motor to make close-coupled design. SVA pump in foot design Direction of Rotation The pumps of SVA range are counterclockwise turning units viewing from drive side. Material The suction body, the discharge body, the suction and discharge inserts, the bearing housing and the stuffing box cover are made from grey cast iron. The impellers are made from brass and the shaft is made from steel or stainless steel in mechanical seal version. Range of delivery Range of delivery is given by the last number in pump denomination (valid for foot design): Range 1 - the pump only with bare end shaft Range 2 - the pump with complete flexible coupling Range 39 - the pump with complete flexible coupling and with common base plate for pump and electric motor, but without the motor Range 9 - the pump coupled with complete flexible coupling to electric motor mounted on common base plate. Accessories To customer order can be supplied counterflanges including joint material. ATEX For the pumps delivered to an explosion hazard area is manufacturer s flame-proof certificate for whole pumping unit available. To fulfill requirements for safe operation the pumps are equipped with temperature sensor as a protection against overheating and pressure switch as a protection against idle run.
