Sfety sensor re of ppliction The protective throughem photoelectric sensor is n ctive optoelectronic protective device only in connection with sfetyrelevnt control system, in which the cyclicl testing of trnsmitter nd receiver is crried out in ccordnce with EN 61496-1, up to ctegory 2 nd PL d in ccordnce with EN ISO 13849-1. Attention! The sfety sensor protects persons t ccess points or t points of opertion of mchines nd plnts. The sfety sensor only detects persons upon entry to the dnger re; it does not detect persons who re locted within the dnger re. For this reson, strt-up/restrt interlock is mndtory. No protective function without dequte sfety distnce. The power supply unit used to operte the photoelectric sensor hs to e le to compenste for chnges nd interruptions of the supply voltge cc. to EN 61496-1. Also oserve the sfety notices in the documenttion of the connected test device! Additionl mesures must e tken to ensure tht the AOPD does not experience dngerous filure due to glre from other light sources. Proper use The sfety sensor must only e used fter it hs een selected in ccordnce with the respectively vlid instructions nd relevnt stndrds, rules nd regultions regrding occuptionl sfety nd sfety t work, nd fter it hs een instlled on the mchine, connected, commissioned, nd checked y competent person. Foreseele misuse Any use other thn tht defined under the "Proper use" or which goes eyond tht use is considered improper use. The user must ensure tht no opticl influence on the AOPD occurs through other forms of light ems, e.g. through - wireless control devices on crnes, - rdition from welding sprks, - strooscopic lights. Competent personnel Prerequisites for competent personnel: - He hs suitle technicl eduction. - He knows the instructions for the sfety sensor nd the mchine. - He hs een instructed y the responsile person on the mounting nd opertion of the mchine nd of the sfety sensor. Multi-xle instlltion SLSR 25B With multi-xle instlltion the light ems hve to run prllel to the reference plne (e.g. floor) nd must e ligned mutully prllel. For this the em direction must e set oppositely in ech cse. Otherwise the light ems could cuse mutul interference nd distur proper functioning. Apply operting voltge to trnsmitter nd receiver nd ctivte trnsmitter vi ctivtion input (see "Electricl connection"). Yellow nd green LEDs on trnsmitter illuminte. Position receiver until the yellow LED illumintes. LED links yellow: Light pth free, ut no performnce reserve; clen nd redjust photoelectric sensor, or check operting conditions. Sfety notices for test function 1.To perform testing correctly the ctivtion input of the SLSR 25B trnsmitter must e connected to test monitoring unit. 2.The test durtion during ccess protection must not exceed 150ms. 3.Susequent to sensor ctivtion the output switching elements of the test monitoring unit must remin in the 'off' stte for t lest 80ms so tht the downstrem equipment cn e switched off sfely when the photoelectric sensor is used for ccess protection. 4.In order to comply with points 2 nd 3, the use of Leuze electronic test monitoring units (MSI-TR1B-01, MSI-TR1B-02) is recommended. Protective throughem photoelectric sensor Check The checks should ensure tht the Optoelectronic Protective Devices hve een used cc. to the ntionl/interntionl regultions, in prticulr in ccordnce with the mchine nd work-equipment directive. Check efore initil commissioning Oserve the ntionlly nd interntionlly vlid regultions. Is the required sfety distnce (protective field of the sfety sensor to the next point of opertion) mintined? Is the sfety sensor effective during the entire dngerous movement nd in ll djustle operting modes of the mchine? It must not e possile to clim over, clim under or circumvent the light pth. Ensure tht the sensor only detects persons upon entry to the dnger re nd does not detect whether persons re locted within the dnger re. Is strt-up/restrt interlock present? Before they egin work, hve competent person trin the operting personnel in their respective tsks. Regulr testing y competent personnel The relile interction of sfety sensor nd mchine must e periodiclly tested in order to detect chnges to the mchine or impermissile tmpering with the sfety sensor. Hve ll tests performed y competent personnel. Oserve the ntionlly nd interntionlly pplicle regultions nd the time periods specified therein. Dily check of the effectiveness of the sfety sensor It is extremely importnt to exmine the effectiveness of the protective field dily so tht it is ensured tht e.g even with djustments to e.g. prmeters, the protective function is ctive t ll points. Interrupt the light em etween the trnsmitter nd receiver (test rod Ø 14mm) - in front of the trnsmitter. - in the middle etween the trnsmitter nd receiver. - in front of nd ehind the deflection mirror.
