A tradition of quality It all started in an unassuming Swiss barn where in 1881 Emil Schenker began fabricating blinds that were revolutionary for their era. Word soon got around that Mr Schenker made superb quality blinds and the company grew steadily. It was renamed Emil Schenker & Co. AG in 1938, got its current name, Schenker Storen Ltd., in 1984, and has remained as innovative as its founder since then. Our first blinds design patent was registered in 1895, and this was followed by a panoply of product launches, including the advent in 1974 of the classic all-metal blind GM 100, which ultimately evolved into today s GM 200. 1976 saw the introduction of the compact venetian blind VR 90 and 2002 the metal compact reefing blind MV 90. Today we employ 560 persons and 45 trainees. We manufacture our products in our locations Schönenwerd, Switzerland, and Thanvillé, France. 4

Home sweet home Home security The average intruder can gain entry into a home or apartment through a window in less than 10 seconds. All-metal blind GM 200 More safety, more protection: the GM 200 provides outstanding protec - tion against forced entry and holds up extremely well against ordinary wear and tear and accidental damage. The GM 200 s lateral guide rails completely protect the mechanism. The slats are secured by steel clips and can be locked in any position. Hold-down system The hold-down system is a simple and effective mechanism that prevents compact venetian blinds from being elevated from the outside and from wind-induced vibrations. The holddown system can be mounted when the blinds are installed, or can be retrofitted later on. Safety roller blind Our safety roller blinds are virtually burglarproof and are composed of extruded and extremely sturdy alu - mi nium sections. The blinds also have reinforced lateral guide rails that are virtually jemmy-proof, as well as a manual locking latch. All of these features render the blinds virtually impervious to jemmying with crowbars. 13

All-metal blind GM 200 The GM 200 is made of rustproof metal and can be locked in any position. The locking mechanism integrated into the lateral guide rails also offers breakin protection. The guide rails also contain the lifting and tilting mechanisms. The GM 200 integrates an overrun protection device. Metal-reefing blind MV 90 These blind provides sun and weather protection, and is also an optimal blackout blind. The silencing profiles in the slats and lateral guide rails provide optimal noise attenuation. The lifting and locking mechanisms are integrated into the lateral guide rails. The blind can be locked in any position. Compact venetian blinds VR 70/VR 90 This blind is notable for its optimal price-performance ratio, as well as its stylish, façade-enhancing slats. The slats and lateral guide rails are outfitted with silencing profiles and provide outstand ing room shading performance. As an option, the VR 90 is available with cord guides. Compact venetian blind LO Light optimisation (LO) is a crucial factor for rooms where people work at computers. Our vertical and extendable textile blinds and façade awnings with curved guide rails that allow for use on any façade, are ideal for retrofitting for example, if you re remodelling your home, office or retail space. All of our fabric blinds and awnings can of course be motorised. For example, our awning and sunshade fabrics are made of spun-dyed acrylic fibres which, in combination with a special process, make the fibres highly weather-resistant. Balcony awning BM 3 This awning is specially designed for balconies or small seating areas in single-family homes or apartment blocks. It is available in widths up to 6 metres. The BM 3 can be wall- or ceiling-mount ed and can also be motorised and/or outfitted with a sun- and wind-activated control system. Cassette awning KM 3/KMK 3 The KM 3 and KMK 3 cassette awnings are used on the balconies and seating areas of single-family homes or apartment blocks. The completely closed cassette awnings are especially suitable for locations that are exposed to the weather without any protection. With widths of up to 6 metres and projections of up to 3.5 metres, cassette awnings can be motorised on request, with wireless radio controllers and an electronic sun- and wind-activated control system also being available. Radio controller SE 50 Our SE 50 radio controller system allows for the wireless networking of sensors, blinds and control devices, thus making this system ideal for retrofitting in existing buildings and/or blind installations. The SE 50 is suitable for slat blind and fabric blind installations and can be networked with sun, wind and rain sensors, room thermostats and time switch. The SE 50 is generally used for single-family homes, shop windows, exhibition spaces, winter gardens and seating areas. Single-channel controller SE 100 The SE 100 is a user-friendly control device with an integrated time switch, for slat blind and fabric blind installations. This unit can control individual motors or motor groups. The SE 100 is most suitable for use in single-family homes, shop windows, exhibition spaces, winter gardens and seating areas. Available in surface-mounted or concealed format. The SE 100 can also be networked with sun, wind and rain sensors and a room thermostat. Dual-channel controller SE 300 The computer-controlled dual-channel SE 300 system is designed for use with slat blinds, awnings, fabric blinds, roller blinds and windows in winter gardens, office buildings and factory buildings. Inasmuch as the system architecture is based on individual motor control devices, an unlimited number of motors can be used. SE 300 can be networked with a wind sensor, up to two sun sensors, a combined rain and outdoor temperature sensor and a room thermostat. Bus system SE 1000 The SE 1000 is a high-tech control system that can be used for all Schenker Storen prod ucts, as well as for windows, ventilation systems, lighting and other installations. The SE 1000 bus system is embedded in Ethernet technology and also provides other interfaces, including one to the EIB communication system (available from Schenker Storen as well). The system s Ethernet technologies and OPC solution enable open and independ - ent visualisation, as well as integration into technical building systems, and hence interoperability with PDAs and mobile phone. Low-cost direct integration of computers or Web terminals is also enabled. The integrated Web server allows for simple and intuitive operation via a user-friendly touch panel. 31

For individual colours we use the NCS colour system which provides over 1,000 tones to choose from.
