1. Introduction 1.1. SkyNEST Portable Kit Introduction This Operations Manual provides basic information on how to operate the SkyNest Portable Kit, Smart Receiver, and Gateway. This manual covers the following topics: Installation of SkyNEST Placement of SkyNEST Wiring of SkyNEST and WASP NEST SkyNEST Interface Configuring of Individual WASP Sensors System Information and Settings of WASP NEST Maintenance of WASP NEST - 5 -

2. Installation 2.1. Included in the Package The SkyNEST is shipped complete with the BossPac NEST Receiver, Battery and Charger/Tender, Solar Panel, an attached antenna, and a pre-determined number of wireless sensors. 2.2. Placement of SkyNEST 2.2.1. Placement The enclosure must be placed in a vertical orientation, (with antenna on top). 2.2.2. Location The SkyNEST enclosure should be placed in a strategic location anywhere within 30 metres (100 ) of the WASP Sensors. This location should be in an area subject to direct sunlight. It is best to avoid shaded areas and to ensure the unit is not placed in line of objects that will block sunlight from reaching the solar panels. The placement surface should be clear of any standing water or possible runoff areas. In northern temperate zones it is best to avoid areas where excessive snow drifting can form. 2.2.3. Positioning The SkyNEST enclosure should be positioned to maximize the amount of sunlight directed at the solar panel. For Northern Hemisphere locations the solar panel should face due south and be tilted at an optimal angle to get the best performance. 2.3. Wiring SkyNEST and NEST Receiver 2.3.1. Connections No on site connections or additional onsite wiring of the SkyNEST is required. 2.3.2. SkyNEST Backplane and Switches All necessary wire routing and cable connections have been completed prior to shipping. 2.3.3. Antenna The antenna connection has been completed prior to shipping. The antenna cable is routed through the BossPac NEST Receiver Gateway and attached to a receptacle located on the WASP NEST circuit board. This connection cannot be accessed without removal of the protective back plate on the receiver. This should only be done by a trained service technician in a location known to be non hazardous. - 6 -

WARNING EXPLOSION HAZARD. DO NOT CONNECT OR DISCONNECT THE ANTENNA IN A HAZARDOUS ENVIRONMENT. AVERTISSEMENT RISQUE D EXPLOSION. NE PAS BRANCHER OU DЀ-BRANCHER L ANTENNE DANS UN ENVIRONMENT FLAMMABLE. 2.3.3. Nest Receiver Mounting The BossPac NEST Receiver has been installed onto the inner door panel. All necessary wiring to the receiver has been completed prior to shipping. The protective back plate on the receiver should not be removed unless there is a requirement to access the receiver. This should only be done by a trained service technician in a location known to be non hazardous. For complete wiring information refer to the WASP NEST Smart Receiver and Gateway Operations Manual. 2.3.4. Circuit Board Terminal Block The NEST circuit board has a 10 pin terminal block, or an 8 pin terminal block, depending on version / revision of the unit. Refer to NEST User Manual for detailed information. A diagram of the terminal block is shown below. For complete wiring information refer to the WASP NEST Smart Receiver and Gateway Operations Manual. - 7 -
