Water Source Heat Pump Water-Cooled Chilled Water Modular Sections Ideal for Replacement and Renovation Projects The VariCool is a self-contained air conditioning system for use with floor-by-floor cooling applications. The unit addresses concerns for energy efficiency, reliability, sound and IAQ in today s commercial building environment. A single unit can often be used for one tenant or multiple units can be installed for different tenants or redundancy. In addition to numerous standard features, the VariCool system can be tailored with options and special features for your unique application. Hinged, removable doors provide access to the compressors, blowers, motors and controls for maintenance or service. The compressors and condensers with the associated components are located out of the air stream allowing access while the unit is operating. Design Features Created for Fast and Easy Installation The VariCool was designed and engineered specifically for fast, trouble free installation in renovation and retrofit applications. The modular knock-down, three piece construction allows easy access through doorways and elevators, preserving the building s architectural integrity. It also eliminates or minimizes unnecessary demolition and construction, saving both time and money. The system has been designed as a floor-by-floor solution. One unit will satisfy the cooling requirements for a single tenant or for partial tenant occupancy. This allows for individual tenant metering. Multiple units can also be installed for higher cooling loads or where system redundancy may be desirable. Because of its small footprint and vertical design, the VariCool requires minimal mechanical room space. Most applications require only single point power and water connections, both entering the cabinet from the top, simplifying utility routing Blower Assembly Plenum blower with pillow block type bearings having an expected life of 200,000 hours. High-Capacity Evaporator Coil Row-split evaporator configuration provides uniform and precise leaving air temperatures under a variety of operating conditions. Refrigeration Module All critical components are located outside the air stream so the unit can be serviced without disturbing the airflow/ performance. 4

Tailored for your Unique Application In addition to the numerous standard features, the VariCool system can be tailored with options for your unique application. Operating efficiency can be greatly enhanced with the addition of a water-side or air-side economizer to take advantage of free cooling. Heating options include electric heat, hot water or steam coils. The VariCool has been engineered for operation in locations sensitive to sound and vibration. The blower and motor assembly are spring isolated to minimize any vibration to the unit frame. The 2 thick insulation helps to eliminate any air borne sounds.
