In this video I'm going to share with you how I organize my cleaning caddy and how you can set one up in your house to make cleaning a breeze. Hey everyone, Antoinette here from myonesweetlife.com where I help busy mamas like you get organized and design a life that you love. As moms, we are the CCO s of our households right? And by CCO I mean the chief cleaning officers! Having an organized cleaning caddy with all of your supplies within reach will not only make cleaning easier for you, it will be a lot quicker too. So here is my cleaning caddy and in here I have everything I need to go through the entire house and not have to worry about walking back and forth looking for something that I've missed. Once it's in here then it's ready to go. I actually found this caddy at Target years ago during the back to school sale. It's actually a shower caddy for college bound students to use in the dorms but I thought it was perfect, it would house everything that I needed without wasting any space. I like how there are different sections, to organize all your stuff. There are 5 sections and I will show you how I divide everything. There are 3 big sections here and on one side I have my window and glass cleaner, shower and tile cleaner, and this is my all purpose cleaner. I got the idea for doing this from Alejandra.tv and I will link to her video below. I just thought this was such a cute idea. The coozies were a dollar from the dollar store, the bottles with these caps were also a dollar from the dollar store, and inside, it's actually a glass bottle that was a fizzy
bubble water drink that was also a dollar! So each container is 3 dollars. It's so cute and it's so colorful I love it. Having it color coded makes it easier to find what cleaner I'm looking for. This is actually a spice container that I repurposed for baking soda and it has a shaker top and it's a perfect little container to hold that in. So that is in one of the sections. It fits right here. With that, I have a duster pad just in case if I need to dust anything really fast. That also goes in that section as well. In the little section next to it, I have this bottle of stone cleaner.. I use the same one I have downstairs. It is Method, stone cleaner I think is what its called. It's for granite and marble surfaces. Since our counters in the bathrooms are marble, I have to use this to clean so it doesn't ruin the marble. It fits in this back section here. In the front I have a sponge and it keep it right there so I can scrub down the shower walls and the tub. In the other big side, I hve roilet cleaner and this one is my favorite right now, it's the simple truth organic toilet cleaner in bergamot mint. It smells so good, I am so surprised at how much I like the smell of the toilet! But, it smells really good and works really well. I also have the seventh generation multi surface disinfecting spray and this scent is pretty strong but i like it. this works really well too.
In the back, I have a plastic cup to rinse the shower and tub that holds my cleaning brush if i need to scrub the tubs, and the bottom of the shower. A toothbrush to get the little surfaces, and my cleaning gloves are also in here. So, you can see it one more time o h its so pretty I keep this cleaning caddy in our laundry room. We have a lower cabinet in the laundry room that it fits in perfectly inside. It's all tucked inside and I can easily get it and access the cleaners really quickly. Some of the cleaning cloths I used are a cotton cloth, microfiber, everyone has microfiber these days right, and this special cleaning cloth for glass. I keep these in the drawer above the cleaning caddy. Whenever I'm ready to clean, I go in there and pull out the cloths and the ones that I need for that cleaning task, and everything is situated in one area and ready to go whenever I need to access it. I just wanted to mention these are not all of the cleaner I have in my house. I do have some downstairs. like the all purpose cleaner, glass cleaner, and stone cleaner just to have on hand whenever I need them downstairs so I don't have to run up and down the stairs all the time. I wanted to leave off with a couple of cleaning tips for you. Cleaning is such a daunting task, if there's anything to make it quicker and easier, I'm all for that. Tip #1 is to start from an entryway of your room and work your way around the room in a circle.
This way you are not backtracking when you are cleaning. Tip #2 is to clean from top to bottom. Dust settles right? So you want to start from the corners of the ceiling and work your way down. You don't want to be cleaning the top of a surface of a bookcase or a bookshelf and then you go up top and stuff falls down. From tip#1 and tip#2 start around the room working from top to bottom kind of like a spiral. Tip #3 is to spray your disinfecting cleaner on toilets and handles and other things before you start cleaning other stuff in the bathroom because it takes 5-10 minutes for the disinfectant to actually work. Pre spray it and come back to it when you are ready to start cleaning. Tip#4 is to have vacuuming be the last task you do for the room. that way you clean up all the dust you've knocked down and it'll leave you those pretty vacuum lines whenever you're done with the room. Tip#5 is if you have any old cotton t shirts laying around, go ahead and cut them up, and use them as cleaning rags. These are excellent for wiping down mirrors and glass. These, I've noticed, have left mine streak free, and don't leave those little particles behind like a lot of rags do. That way it'll be just another way to use something that you might have thrown out at first. So, that is my cleaning caddy and some quick tips to help you clean a little more efficiently. I have found keeping a system like this to be really successful. It s very effective, easy to use, easy to stay organized, and something I hope you will implement in your house!
