ISA Instructor-Led Training ISA is recognized worldwide as a leader in non-biased, vendorneutral education and training programs for automation professionals. Industry professionals, whether an experienced engineer, practicing technician, or newcomer to the industry, can hone their skills at ISA s regional training centers, through onsite training programs at their company, or via distance education. Many ISA courses are lab intensive to reinforce important skills. ISA s extensive instructor-led curriculum is organized in three training paths. Although ISA s certification programs for technicians and automation professionals are not tied directly to ISA s training courses, the training paths are designed to cover the body of knowledge for technicians and automation professionals and can be helpful to those preparing for certification as a PE, CAP or CCST. Message from the District Vice President by Rafael Agrasanchez I would like to thank all of the leaders within ISA s District 11 specifically for volunteering their time and effort into making ISA the prestigious and professional organization that it is. Historically District 11 is among the strongest districts in the society. Without you ISA would not be what it is. Every year the leaders within ISA coordinate monthly meetings, golf tournaments, table top shows, scholarships for students, educational seminars, Christmas parties, social events that promote exchange of ideas and methodologies and among other things create relationships that develop as we age in the automation industry. We begin to realize that the automation world is smaller than we thought before we joined ISA. In my mind this is one of the greatest assets to ISA and automation, the people. There are 8 sections that make up District 11: San Diego, Orange County, Los Angeles, Bakersfield, Northern California, Las Vegas, Central Arizona and Hawaii. All sections start there fiscal year on July 1st, which is why our District Leadership meeting was held Friday August Regional events & training Dates subject to change. Contact the sponsoring party before making your final plans to attend. To include an ISA or non-isa event, please contact the editor. 22 - Sunday August 24 in Temecula, CA. This gave new leaders the opportunity to participate. It will also allowed sections to budget for the meetings during the planning meetings that each incoming president organizes. A few additional important dates to put in your calendar are: ISA Spring Leaders Meeting June 28th -July 1st 2014 in Raleigh, NC, and ISA Fall Leaders Meeting November 8th - 11th 2014 in Kansas City, MO. I look forward to getting to know you better and/or working with you in the coming years.
