Paved U-shaped drive with paved footpath across center. All stones upright; some recently cleaned. Orderly rows. One fir tree at south end near oldest markers. Central flagpole. One wrought iron fenced plot. Comments: Many plots have corner markers with family's initials. Was Methodist, now nonsectarian. Church organized 1866. Not fenced. Comments: Two roads into the cemetery on the north & south sides, connected by east & west roads within the cemetery. Landscaping is old trees and a few small bushes. Appears to be well maintained. Arrangement appears to be in rows, but often not aligned. Markers are of all shapes & materials. Older stones appear to be sandstone and later ones granite and marble. Many large stones identifying family plots. Stones are in fairly regular rows. One paved road, but mostly gravel & grass. Comments: Fencing & entrances on both Darnestown & Hunter Roads. Many trees in older sections; newer sections have few trees but are well landscaped & maintained. Monocacy Chapel is a rusticated concrete block building on Hunter Road. Cemetery is north on Beallsville, west on unnamed gravel road about 1/2 mile, then right on another gravel road about 1/5 mile. Another gravel road enters at the back of cemetery. Landscape is large old trees, some small bushes and yuccas. The stones are readable, but there are a few fieldstones & depressions that indicate unmarked graves.
