Welcome The Merriwa Festival of the Fleeces Committee would like to invite you to paticipate as a stall holder at the 29th Festival of the Fleeces, to be held on the 8th of June 2019. Merriwa s annual Festival of the Fleeces is celebrating 29 years since it commenced in 1990. Each year this event attracts over 5,000 people and generates much needed funds for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter and the Merriwa and District Volunteer Rescue Squad. The Festival is an event that the whole community can become involved in and enjoy. Organising has kicked off for the 2019 festival, let us know if you would like to be involved in this great opportunity. Stall Requirements Stall Holders 2019 Stall holders MUST ensure that booking form, public liability insurance certificate, and payment is confirmed by the 30th of April 2019. (Non-refundable after this date) Applications will not be accepted after this date. N.B. Stall sites may be exhausted before closing date. Merriwa Festival of the Fleeces reserves the right to refuse any stall holders at its discretion. All stall holders must comply with regulations covered by the Department of Fair Trading and any other regulations of any other statutory body under which the nature of the stall holder may be required to be covered. All equipment is to be in a safe operating condition and have been subject to any inspection which may be required under law for that particular type of equipment. Stall holders MUST provide a copy of their current Public Liability Insurance for records. Stall holders must have a minimum of $20 million public liability, as well as having Upper Hunter Shire Council Listed as an interested party on your policy. Applications will not be accepted without the stall holder s form, proof of payment and a copy of the insurance. Note: Set up is only between 6.00am - 8.00am with pack up being at 3.00pm 4.00pm for ALL stalls. (Roads will reopen at 4pm) all rubbish to be removed from site, Bins available at the festival. Tables/Chairs/Equipment You will need to supply all your own tables, chairs, wet weather provisions and other necessary equipment eg. Weights to keep down gazebos. Stalls on the north side of Bettington Street need something to level out your gazebo due to a slope in the street. Power Please note that no power sites are available. Generator use is allowable ensuring its under 55 Decibels and not contaminating other sites with fumes. Vehicles All vehicles (excluding food and coffee vans) MUST be removed from the main street once stall holders have finished setting up their stall. From 3pm onwards, stall holders can bring their vehicles back into the main street to pack up.

This year additional waste facilities have been provided to assist you to better s ort and manage your waste. Skip bins for general waste, mixed recycling and cardboard and paper are situated in Vennachar St near the corner with Bettington St and in Bow St near the corner with Bettington St. We ask that all venders use these skip bins for the disposal of waste and not the wheelie bins provided in the Bettington St for the visitors attending the Festival. The following items may be placed in the skip bins: General Waste skip Food off cuts and left overs, Aluminium foil wrap and trays Soft plastic such as plastic bags, chip packets, cling wrap and shrink wrap etc Polystyrene containers or waxed containers Plastic containers, plates and cutlery Disposable coffee cups, Napkins and serviettes Recycling skip Glass bottles Plastic bottles beverage, cleaning products Tins and cans Milk bottles and cartons Juice bottles and cartons Paper and Cardboard Recycling skip Any cardboard products such as cardboard boxes and off cuts Any paper products Please note that beverage containers eligible for the container deposit scheme refund of 10c will be being collected during the day by volunteers with all proceeds going to the Volunteer Rescue Association. Metal stands with plastic bags will be located around the main street for the collection of these bottles. Sufficient clean towels detergent and food grade sanitiser Sufficient bowls or containers provided to facilitate cleaning/ sanitising of utensils and equipment and for the capture/ storage of used water Handwashing facilities A sealed container of warm potable water provided for use as a handwashing facility, separate from other facilities and located so as to be easily accessed by all food handlers Liquid soap and single use paper towels to be provided for handwashing purposes Food Storage and Protection All food is stored so as to be adequately protected from possible contamination and so that environmental conditions will not adversely affect the suitability of food.
