1. Description of the association 1. HERISCAPE ASSOCIATION

1. Presentation of the association HERISCAPE Heritage and Landscape Training and Consulting is a non-profit-making association which offers to international public and private bodies a technical consulting activity concerning: Architectural projects urban and landscape plans and projects researches and training HERISCAPE was founded in 2008 by some professionals who decided to continue the studies and research of OIKOS - centro studi.

1. Presentation of the association Heriscape Founder Members Felicia Bottino architect, formerly professor of Town Planning at the IUAV of Venice and with a well-established experience of urban and landscape planning. Filippo Boschi architect, Master in Urban Design at Berkeley and Ph.D at Bologna University, expert of regional and city planning, urban design and landscaping. Daniele Pini architect, professor of Urban Design at the University of Ferrara and expert for national and international bodies both on the subjects of urban design or cultural and architectural heritage conservation and rehabilitation. Valentina Ridolfi, degree in History of Art and expert of European project, who has been working for several years in drawing up and managing cultural, research and training projects.

Presentation of the association Heriscape Activities Heriscape mainly realizes the following activities: Urban and Territorial Planning and Design; Landscape Planning and Project; Conservation and rehabilitation of historical town-centers; Conservation, valorization and management of cultural heritage; Strategic plans; Studies and research on different topics; Meetings, seminars, debates, exhibitions; Publications as well as cultural and educational materials; Organization and management of participation activities; High professional training courses for public and private professionals.

2. Heriscape activities and experience Heriscape Activities related to OIKONET Concerning OIKONET aims, actions, output and deliverable, Heriscape could give at disposal its experience concerning: 1. TRAINING ACTIVITIES 2. PARTICIPATORY ACTIONS

2.1 Heriscape activities and experience Training activities 2.1 Heriscape Training activities HERISCAPE implemented different training activities: training courses on landscape and urban design issues for Italian civil servants and professionals; International training courses for students, researchers and professionals in the field of different international or European projects.

2.1 Heriscape activities and experience Training activities 2.1 Heriscape Training activities Mutual Heritage: from historical integration to contemporary active participation Euromed IV programme 2009-2012 Managing and organizing 9 training courses in Morocco, Tunis, Palestine and Lebanon concerning the mutual architectural and urban heritage, sustainable development and wide spread consciousness of the heritage value. HERISPHERA - Excellence Initiative in VET European Union Lifelong Learning Programme 2012-2014 Heriscape as a project partner coordinates training program, with Architects Association of Oradea, on the subjects concerning urban and architectural heritage conservation and valorization, and introducing the GIS, as a fundamental tool of intervention.

Approaches, tools and proceeds for the New Regional Landscape Plan" Umbria Region 2011-2012 Training course on contents, aims, tools and proceeds, of the New Regional Landscape Plan. Target: all local bodies from Umbria "Landscape safeguard, management and planning. New approaches, tools and proceeds Toscana Region, Firenze 2009-2010 Training professional course on the European Landscape convention principles and on the code of Cultural and Landscape Heritage. Target: Municipalities and Public bodies

Heriscape activities and experience Participatory actions 2.2 Heriscape participatory action Strategic plan of Rimini and its territory drafting of the Document of the Plan and implementation 2008- ongoing The drafting of the Document of the Plan has been development thanks to the involvement of the stakeholders, citizens, public and private bodies of Rimini. Heriscape, together with Rimini Venture Forum, organized different moments of community participation in order to collect and understands needs, resources, and to make people aware and part of the process. http://www.riminiventure.it In the implementation, many labs and work group keep on working on all the actions to be realized for the Strategic plan.

Heriscape activities and experience Participatory actions 2.2 Heriscape participatory action Cervia più: Strategic Plan of Cervia (Ravenna) 2012-2013 Scientific and technical assistance in developing the participation process: working table by subjects. Supporting the Municipality in the activities concerning involving, making people aware, promotion and participation. LAB.net plus: Cross-Border network for landscape and local identity valorization. Toscana Region, Firenze 2011-2012 Coordination of the Landscape Lab Workshops, organised by Massa-Carrara, Lucca and Pisa Province (Toscana Region): promote and increase the value of local cultures and identity

3. Heriscape proposal Heriscape proposal for OIKONET Referring to WP3 outcomes, Heriscape proposes two possibilities: 1. Development and collection of housing guidelines and best practices with municipalities in Emilia- Romagna as case studies for research and learning activities 2. Organize and follow a participatory action in the territory of Rimini (Emilia Romagna) with the Welfare work group of the Strategic Plan, together with the Architect Association.

3.1 Heriscape proposal Housing experiences in Emilia- Romagna Romagna 3.1 Housing experiences in Emilia Romagna With OIKOS centro studi, the team now working with Heriscape, developed and published two researches concerning HOUSING in Emilia Romagna: Housing forms and traces: a social answer to the urban quality in Emilia Romagna Toward a new urban project: The experience of the II neighborhood contracts in Emilia Romagna

3.1 Heriscape proposal Housing experiences in Emilia- Romagna Romagna Housing forms and traces: a social answer to the urban quality in Emilia Romagna A critical selection of Housing interventions realized with public funding in Emilia-Romagna (from 1980 till 2000) An instrument and tool for professionals and institutions working with the territory useful to: understand the ongoing processes; evaluate and verify the efficiency of the housing policies; orientate and suggest strategies and design solutions suitable to a society deeply changing and changed.

3.1 Heriscape proposal Housing experiences in Emilia- Romagna Romagna Housing forms and traces: a social answer to the urban quality in Emilia Romagna Montegridolfo (Rimini) Historic center rehabilitation and revitalization 1990-1995 Works: Recovery of the historic area inside the wall; Replacement of the pavement and main supply network; Recovery of the public properties. Realization of the Gothic line Museum; Recovery of private building for subsidize housing Realization of 5 public housing lodging, by upgrading one building and reconstructing the adjacent one; Renewal of 5 public housing (public property)

3.1 Heriscape proposal Housing experiences in Emilia- Romagna Romagna Towards a new urban project The experience of the II neighborhood contracts in Emilia-Romagna The experience of II neighborhood contracts in Emilia-Romagna mainly concerns urban rehabilitation and renovation interventions promoted by the municipalities. The core of these programs are Housing policies. The research underlines the need of developing actions capable of integrating different levels of managing and planning the territory (policies, plans and projects). The Italian suburbs are compromised due to the lack of urban quality in the services or in the public spaces. The suburbs become object of institutions interest trough the neighborhood contracts

3.1 Heriscape proposal Housing experiences in Emilia- Romagna Toward a new urban project: The experience of the II neighborhood contracts in Emilia-Romagna Participation process in the II neighborhood contracts are conceived: As tool for knowlegde and awareness For the architect and the municipality: awareness of needs and requests As an element for social integration and mediation Conflicts prevention thanks to communication dialog, and sharing As a moment of urban democracy Decision are oriented thanks to the participation process.

3.1 Heriscape proposal Housing experiences in Emilia- Romagna Toward a new urban project: The experience of the II neighborhood contracts in Emilia-Romagna Reggio Emilia Compagnoni Fenulli neighborhood II III IV phase Area and critical elements different urban elements (housing, services, infrastructures); high level of buildings decay; lack of parking and public spaces; Weak social structure; Housing typologies not reaching the standard; Disconnected green areas Guide lines and criteria Rehabilitation of urban structures not used or having high level of decay Change of areas uses to limit city expansion.

3.1 Heriscape proposal Housing experiences in Emilia- Romagna Toward a new urban project: The experience of the II neighborhood contracts in Emilia-Romagna Reggio Emilia Compagnoni Fenulli neighborhood II III IV phase Aims and objectives Increase the neighborhood life quality, rehabilitating the urban structure and paying attention to the identity and social structure of the area Upgrading the level of the services and infrastructure, and improvement of the accessibility of the area Social aims: integration and safety through institutional strategies and creation of meeting places.

3.1 Heriscape proposal Housing experiences in Emilia- Romagna Toward a new urban project: The experience of the II neighborhood contracts in Emilia-Romagna Reggio Emilia Compagnoni Fenulli neighborhood II III IV phase Methodologies and implementation ACER manages the public properties to realize public housing building, relating with the private interested in the implementation of the plan; Participatory action to share aims, to collect request and needs from the community, and to plan with social, economical association the interventions. Eco- sustainability is endorsed: the design is conceived according to rational use of energetic resources, water smart use, recyclable construction materials.

3.1 Heriscape proposal Housing experiences in Emilia- Romagna Toward a new urban project: The experience of the II neighborhood contracts in Emilia-Romagna Reggio Emilia Compagnoni Fenulli neighborhood II III IV phase Participation process Different levels and different methodologies: Agenda 21 and forum establishment outreach and focus group construction site event : involving the community in the construction process Conference Urban rehabilitation on sustainability issues After interventions cooperation will be fostered: volunteers will work on the conservation of the green areas, women unemployed will manage the multifunctional center

3.2 Heriscape proposal Participatory action with the Welfare group in Rimini 3.2 Participatory action with the Welfare group in Rimini Strategic plan of Rimini: different groups and lab worked together to define the vision of Rimini and its territory. The Welfare group strategies and actions: Urban and territorial integration New attention to enviroment and urban quality Foster social cohesion giving different answer to different needs Understanding housing offers, problems and needs Design and implement participatory actions to collect, understand and acknowledge the needs concerning social housing in the territory of Rimini, working with the Architect Association.

4. Heriscape resources for WP3 deliverables 4.1 Participatory action resources Thank to the variety of its experiences and projects, the association can count on a selection of multidisciplinary experts participating in the different activities according to the different specific issues. All the institution mentioned in Heriscape experience could be contacted to participate to the project, such us Emilia Romagna Region or Acer, or the Forum of Strategic Plan of Rimini (.) The members of Heriscape could give their contribution: Felicia Bottino, former regional council member Daniele Pini, architect expert on housing and professor at Ferrara University Simona Rotteglia, architect having experience in participation process and training Filippo Boschi, architect, expert on housing and participation process Valentina Ridolfi, project manager, expert of participation processes Anna Trazzi, architect, having experience in participation process

4. Heriscape resources for WP3 deliverables The idea is to involve the Welfare group working for the Strategic Plan of Rimini to design and implement, together with the Architect Association of Rimini, to define and try to find solution for social housing problems. 4.2 Video reporting No resources belonging to the team. 4.3 Report on participatory actions If one of the participatory actions will be held in Rimini, Heriscape could follow the reporting, describing the actions, methods and outcomes in order to publish them and open it to bigger audiences.
