Don t leave anything on the surface of the heating element or on the bottom of the pot. OPERATION 1. Frothing Cold or Warm Milk Fig.1 Fig.2 Fig.3 Fig.4 Fig.5 Remove the lid. Press the blender firmly onto the spigot in the bottom of the pot. Check that it rotates freely. Pour the required amount of milk into the pot, up to the 250ml Max level. (If more milk is poured into the pot you risk the beverage overflowing!) Replace the lid. Place the pot onto the base unit. Plug in the appliance and switch on the mains supply. The appliance will automatically switch off after approximately 3½ minutes. If you want to stop the appliance at any time, press the button a second time. To make warm frothy milk select the button marked. The indicator light will come on and the blender will start to rotate the milk. After approximately 1½ - 4 minutes the milk will have reached the pre-set temperature (~60 C) and the appliance will automatically switch off. The hot luscious milk foam can now be poured into your coffee cup. If you want to stop the appliance at any time, press the button a second time. 2

Note: If the button marked is pressed again whilst the Milk Frother is still hot, then the unit will operate and automatically switch off when the milk reaches the pre-set temperature (~70ºC). 2. Fig.9 Pour the required amount of milk into the pot, up to the 250ml Max level. (If more milk is poured into the pot you risk the beverage overflowing!) Fig.10 Pour the chocolate into the pot. Fig.11 Replace the lid. Fig.12 Place the pot onto the base unit. Plug in the appliance and switch on the mains supply. Fig.13 Select the button marked. The indicator light will come on and the blender will start to rotate the milk. After approximately 1½ - 4 minutes the hot chocolate will have reached the pre-set temperature (~70 C) and the appliance will automatically switch off. The luscious hot chocolate can now be poured into your cup. If you want to stop the appliance at any time, press the button a second time. Note: If the button marked is pressed again whilst the Milk Frother is still hot, then the unit will operate and automatically switch off when the milk reaches the pre-set temperature (~80 C) Note - If you wet the bottom of the pot with a little tap water this will speed up the heating operation. CHANGING THE BLENDER/STIRRER The Milk Frother is supplied with two blenders, marked foam. These will produce a frothy drink. The stirrer marked mix can be used to produce a hot drink that is not frothy. 3

To change the blender firmly pull the blender upwards, at an angle to the base, to remove it from the spigot in the base of the pot. Position the required blender onto the spigot and then press firmly downwards until it clicks into place. Ensure that the blender rotates freely on the spigot. The spare blender and stirrer are located on the underside of the base unit. CLEANING & MAINTENANCE Before cleaning the base unit after use, wait for the appliance to cool down. When cleaning the pot, use a sponge or a soft brush together with normal washing up liquid. Warning: Be aware of the spigot in the base of the pot when cleaning by hand. Do not use any solvents or abrasive detergents. Sharp or hard instruments or steel wool is strictly forbidden. When cleaning the base unit, disconnect from the power supply and just use a damp cloth. Take care not to wet any electrical parts. Do not wash the base unit in a dishwasher. Fig.14 Fig.15 Fig.16 Fig.17 Fig.18 Remove the blender from the bottom of the pot and clean thoroughly. The pot can be cleaned with warm soapy water or washed in a dishwasher. Do NOT pour water into the base unit. The base unit must NOT be immersed in water. The spare blender and stirrer are stored under the base unit. PROBLEM SOLVING Fig.19 When the light is flashing this indicates a problem with the thermostat of the appliance. Please switch off the electricity supply and inform the service department. 4

If a button is pressed and the light fails to come on, check the appliance is plugged in and the power is switched on. If the milk is not foaming properly, check that the blender is correctly placed on the spigot in the pot. Check that the blender is not broken or that the blender has become jammed. Replace the blender. If the blender fails to rotate when the appliance is operating, stop the appliance and check that the blender is correctly placed on the spigot in the pot. Press the blender firmly down onto the spigot and retry the appliance. If this fails, replace the blender to check whether this resolves the problem. New blenders are available as a spare part. If the Milk Frother has been restarted on a hot setting whilst the unit was still hot then it will not operate for a third time. Under this condition the button can still be selected/ When the or button is pressed the light will flash 3 times. This indicates that the appliance needs to cool down for approximately 5 minutes. Refilling the pot with cold milk will reduce the time required before the Milk Frother can be restarted. If the appliance still fails to work, please contact the Hostess customer service department.
