Country: United Kingdom LED luminaires CU Phosco is the largest UK designer and manufacturer of outdoor lighting equipment. CU Phosco Lighting Ltd (formerly known as Concrete Utilities) is the longest established and premier outdoor lighting group in the UK. They design and manufacture exterior lighting luminaires, floodlights, lighting columns and masts. Their lighting columns and masts range from 3 metres to 60 metres in height and can be seen on motorways, at airports, in shopping centers, housing estates and sports stadiums throughout the world. Country: Portugal Steel columns for street lights Founded in 1971, the company Irmãos Silvas S.A. METALOGALVA, is the oldest company of the Vigent Group. This industrial company has five industrial units occupying a total area of 60.440m², and a total gross area of 199.000m², having more than 500 employees. Metalogalva is specialized in the design and manufacture of metal structures, having the capacity and skills to perform prototype tests, assembling level and structural strength. Their products have application in several fields of activity, including energy, telecommunications, roads and railways, renewable energies and is usually subjected to a corrosion protection of hot dip galvanizing. Country: Turkey Street furniture Sistem Reklam started to manufacture billboards with lights and without lights in a workshop of 300 m2 in the beginning of the 1970 s. Now in its facilities of 30,000 m2 closed area equipped with modern and state of the art technology, it designs the corporate identity for many sectors including petrol, tire, automotive, banking and shopping malls, as well as providing manufacturing, assembly and maintenance services. LUSAIL CITY STREET FURNITURE ELAN Urban has signed a contract with Lusail Real Estate Company (LREDC) for the manufacturing, supply, installation, and maintenance of street furniture and street lighting for Lusail City. This includes bicycle racks, benches, seats, litter receptacles, bollards, light poles, and traffic gantries and poles. In partnership with HUB Group, a leading Australian design company, ELAN Urban installed 3,604 customized and unique pieces of street furniture in Lusail City. Client: Lusail Real Estate Development Company Furniture designer: HUB Scope: Lusail City situated in the north of Doha in Qatar, is a 38 sq. km development described as a City of the Future. Having presented 6 suites of furniture which included suites of multi-functional poles, unique paving designs and pedestrian shelters, ELAN Urban has been selected as a preferred supplier after an exhaustive international selection process. The quality of the design has already been recognized through the receipt of an Australian International Design Award. Qutaifan Bench, Lusail 20 21
EDUCATION CITY QATAR FOUNDATION ELAN Urban was approached to provide Education City with a bicycle system study for their compound resulting in an e-bike system pilot scheme. ELAN Urban has successfully executed the first of this project s kind in the GCC within the Education City for the design, manufacture, installation, operation, and maintenance of a complete e-bike sharing system. Client: Qatar Foundation Bike Manufacturer: Nextbike Scope: QF is one of the largest organizations in the GCC region. ELAN Urban has been selected to design, build, and supply a bike sharing system with 3,000 e-bikes and manual bikes for education city. The scope included the construction of bike path and fix station, and the supply of control software. The design and build phase was completed by September 2014, and was followed by the delivery of 60 e-bikes with station and infrastructure to operate 240 bikes to ensure full operation by October 2014. It was extended by 140 bikes in April 2016. Bike Sharing, Qatar Foundation 22 23
PEDESTRIAN BRIDGES IN QATAR The Qatari government has launched an ambitious plan to build pedestrian bridges that will enhance the safety and comfort of pedestrians across the country, and will the streets of Qatar more pedestrian-friendly. Through the Publics Works Authority Ashghal and the Traffic Department, the government identified strategic locations that have high traffic and high number of accidents involving pedestrians to build the bridges. Client: Government of Qatar Design: ELAN Urban Scope: ELAN Urban was entrusted by the Qatari government through the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, and the Ministry of Transport and Communications to design, build, and operate 15 new pedestrian bridges in various areas in Qatar. Elan Urban has designed two types of bridges: Premium Bridges: feature a new concept of pedestrian bridges as it s equipped with escalators, elevators, air conditioning, ATMs, vending machines, and many other services. Regular Bridges: feature staircases, elevators, bicycle paths and services such as mini shops, ATM machines and Vending machines. Concept Design, Pedestrian Bridges 24 25
NOVO CINEMAS Novo Cinemas is a leading and award-winning cinema chain in the Middle East, reputed for its commitment to innovation and the premium level of the cinema experience it delivers to visitors across all its locations. Novo Cinemas operates 14 cinemas with a total of over 150 screens in Qatar, Bahrain, and the UAE. Client: Novo Cinemas Scope: ELAN Urban was appointed by Novo Cinemas as the Project Management / Construction Management partner, with the mission to deliver the fitout of its new cinemas in Qatar including Novo The Pearl, Novo Mall of Qatar, Novo Souq Waqif, and Novo Msheirib. For each location, ELAN Urban delivered project budget and technical feasibility, as well as the management and oversight of the development of the concept design to suit the surrounding landmarks, tenders for the appointment of the Quantity Survey Supervision consultants, Design and build contractors, including their technical and commercial evaluation for Tender Committee selection; in addition to ensuring the monitoring of the project achievement within target timelines and budget.
