INTRODUCTION TO COLD PRESS JUICER Cold press juicing technology operates via a chewing (mastication) method to produce high quality juice from each fruit and vegetable. The single juicing screw first crushes, then compresses and squeezes out the juice. There are no fast-spinning blades that cut and pulverize the fruits and vegetables to produce juice. With the cold press technology, more nutrients and enzymes are preserved. Fruits that contain starch, such as bananas, papayas, avocados, figs and mangoes will not produce juices. However, when skinned, pitted, frozen and fed into the Cold Press Juicer, the pulp spout will eject a dairy-free, creamy, nutrient-rich, fresh fruit sorbet that can be enjoyed in moments! BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME 1. Carefully unpack the Cold Press Juicer and remove all packaging and materials. 2. Place the Cold Press Juicer on a flat, stable surface. 3. Following the Disassembly Instructions described in this Instruction Manual, remove the food pusher from the hopper, then unlock and remove the lid, stainless steel juice strainer, crushing auger, and processing bowl. 4. Wash all removable parts (food pusher, lid, stainless steel juice strainer, crushing auger, processing bowl, 2 BPA-free juice/pulp cups) in warm water with a biodegradable, non-abrasive liquid detergent. Rinse well and air dry. This will eliminate any traces of dust or residue from manufacturing or shipping. CAUTION: Use care when handling the stainless steel juice strainer. Hold the stainless steel strainer rim only. CAUTION: Never rinse or immerse the motor base in water or any other liquid. 7

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS WARNING: ALWAYS MAKE SURE COLD PRESS JUICER IS UNPLUGGED BEFORE STARTING ASSEMBLY. IMPORTANT: The Cold Press Juicer s safety system prevents the unit from being turned ON unless it is completely and properly assembled. 1. Place the motor base on a flat, stable surface. 2. Check to make sure the groove in the rubber seal ring is properly attached to the center hole in the bottom of the processing bowl. (See Figure 2.) 3. Press the processing bowl down onto the motor base and slightly turn the bowl until the black bar of the processing bowl is aligned with the motor base handle, making sure the bowl locks firmly on the motor base. An audible click can be heard as the processing bowl locks in place. (See Figure 3.) FIGURE 2 FIGURE 3 Processing Bowl Center Hole Rubber Seal Ring Bowl Locks Bowl Locks Groove 8

4. Watching through the clear processing bowl, attach the base of the crushing auger through the processing bowl s center hole and over the motor base spindle. (See Figure 4.) Make sure the crushing auger drops down and rests flush against the bottom of the processing bowl. When securely attached, the crushing auger will not turn on the motor base. 5. Add the juice strainer over the crushing auger. (See Figure 5.) The groove in the bottom of the juice strainer lines up and locks over the locking ring in the bottom of the processing bowl. When securely attached, juice strainer will not turn on the motor base. FIGURE 4 FIGURE 5 Auger Juice Strainer Groove Motor Base Spindle Locking Ring 9

6. Rest the lid on the auger spindle so that the lid s locking tab sits slightly to the right of the black bar. (See Figure 6.) 7. Grasping the Cold Press Juicer firmly by the motor base handle in one hand, grasp the hopper to turn the lid clockwise. The lid is locked when the locking tab is fully inserted into the handle slot in the upper rim of the processing bowl and is perfectly aligned with the black bar. (See Figure 7.) 8. Place either handled cup under the juice spout. Place the second cup under the pulp spout at the back of the Cold Press Juicer. Your Cold Press Juicer is completely assembled and ready for juicing! (See Figure 8.) IMPORTANT: The Cold Press Juicer s safety system prevents the unit from being turned ON unless it is completely and properly assembled. 11 PREPARING FRUITS AND VEGETABLES FOR JUICING Clean all produce thoroughly, using a natural bristle brush. If you are not using organic produce, we recommend using a biodegradable cleaner to help remove pesticide residue. Remove and discard the outer leaves of non-organic produce and peel any waxed fruit or vegetable. Trim away any discolored or bruised sections. The skin may be left on all organic produce (including pineapple and melons) except lemons, limes, oranges, grapefruit, and tangerines. The oil found in these skins is bitter tasting and difficult to digest. Remove seeds and pits of fruits such as cherries, grapes, pears and peaches. Cut produce into pieces small enough to fit into the hopper. Use the food pusher to gently direct produce through the tube. NEVER PUSH PRODUCE INTO THE FEED TUBE WITH YOUR FINGERS. Cut Hard produce (carrots, beets, pineapple, etc.) into smaller pieces to facilitate juicing. TIP: Alternate between hard and soft produce for maximum juice flow Leafy greens, parsley, wheatgrass, and sprouts should be bunched into a small, tight ball and pushed through the hopper with the food pusher. NOTE: FOR MAXIMUM RESULTS when juicing, alternate between leafy, harder, and softer produce. Bananas are not suitable for juicing; a clear juice cannot be obtained from them and residue left in the machine can clog the stainless steel juice strainer. For best results when juicing apricots, plums, pears, peaches, and tomatoes, produce should be firm. When juicing apples, add a small amount of fresh lemon or lime to help slow down the browning process. The Cold Press Juicer is not suitable for processing very hard and/or fibrous/starchy fruits or vegetables such as sugar cane. Fruits that contain starch or some fiber, such as bananas, mango, papaya, avocado, figs, peaches are not suitable for juicing; residue left in the machine can clog the stainless steel juice strainer. However, when frozen, the pulp spout will eject a creamy, fresh fruit sorbet that can be enjoyed in moments!

PREPARING FRUITS FOR FROZEN SORBET Peel over-ripe bananas and freeze in an airtight bag. Freeze fresh berries: strawberries, seedless red grapes, blueberries, raspberries, kiwis. Use fresh or prepared, packaged frozen fruit: mango, papaya, berries, pitted cherries, peaches. Peel, seed and freeze 1 to 2-inch chunks of larger fruits such as pineapple, mango, apples, oranges, lemons and limes. Top with your choice of dark chocolate chips, nuts, toasted coconut, fruit preserves, maple syrup, honey and fresh fruit zest. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS IMPORTANT: The Cold Press Juicer s safety system prevents the unit from being turned ON unless it is completely and properly assembled. 1. Assemble the Cold Press Juicer following the Assembly Instructions described in this Instruction Manual. Place the assembled Cold Press Juicer on a flat, stable surface. IMPORTANT: Make sure both handled cups are in position under both the juice spout and the pulp spout. 2. Prepare fruits and vegetables as described in Preparing Fruits and Vegetables for Juicing section of this Instruction Manual. 3. Dry hands thoroughly. CAUTION: Do not operate Cold Press Juicer with wet hands. WARNING: To avoid damage to the unit, do not operate Cold Press Juicer when the hopper is empty. 4. Plug unit into a 220 V AC electrical outlet. 5. Remove the food pusher from the hopper. 12

13 6. Place washed and trimmed 1 to 2-inch chunks of produce into the hopper. Use the food pusher to gently direct food through the hopper and processing bowl. 7. Press the ON/OFF/REVERSE button to ON to begin juicing. NOTE: To ensure maximum results when juicing, alternate between leafy, harder, and softer produce. 8. If the motor jams, press the REVERSE button (REV) to reverse the direction of the crushing auger. Wait for produce to make its way back up to the starting point and then turn back to ON and continue juicing. NOTE: If the unit is continuously jammed for more than 5 minutes, it will automatically shut off. In the event that this happens, please unplug the unit and let it cool off before using. IMPORTANT: Due to the slow rotating crushing auger, the accumulation of pulp residue can occur on the base of the auger, stainless steel juice strainer, and the channel on the bottom of the processing bowl. 9. When juicing is completed, press the ON/OFF/REVERSE button to OFF (O). 10. With the handled cup under the juice spout, firmly grasp the motor base and tilt the juice spout into the handled cup to collect the last remaining juice from the processing bowl. Slide the handled cup out from under the juice spout. Serve juice within 10 minutes for the freshest flavor and highest nutritional value. NOTE: Unused juice should be sealed immediately and refrigerated. 11. Remove the handled cup from under the pulp spout and save or discard pulp. NOTE: The pulp from your Cold Press Juicer can be used in several different applications such as breads, dips, dressings, sauces, muffins, cakes, soup stocks, compressed facial packs and garden compost material. 12. Unplug the Cold Press Juicer from the outlet after use. 13. Follow Disassembly Instructions described in this Instruction Manual; all removable parts should be rinsed and cleaned after each use. Clean the Cold Press Juicer following the procedures described in the Care & Cleaning Instructions.

DISASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS WARNING: ALWAYS MAKE SURE THE COLD PRESS JUICER IS UNPLUGGED BEFORE STARTING DISASSEMBLY. 1. The lid is locked when the locking tab is fully inserted into the handle slot in the upper rim of the processing bowl and perfectly aligned with the black bar. Holding the Cold Press Juicer firmly by the motor base handle in one hand, grasp the hopper in the other hand and turn the lid counter-clockwise to unlock. (See Figures 6 and 7.) Remove the lid for cleaning. 2. Lift the stainless steel juice strainer up and out of the processing bowl. Rinse in warm running water. 3. Grasp the crushing auger firmly and pull straight up and out of the processing bowl. Rinse immediately in warm running water. 4. Use gentle pressure to lift the processing bowl up and off the 4 bowl locks on the motor base. Rinse immediately in warm running water. 5. Follow the procedures outlined in the Care and Cleaning Instructions for specific cleaning instructions. CAUTION: Use care when handling. FIGURE 6 FIGURE 7 Locking Tab Handle Slot Black Bar 14

USER MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS This appliance requires little maintenance. It contains no user serviceable parts. Do not try to repair it yourself. Contact a qualified appliance repair technician if the product requires servicing. CARE & CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS IMPORTANT: Due to the slow rotating crushing auger, the accumulation of pulp residue can occur on the base of the auger, stainless steel juice strainer, and the channel on the bottom of the processing bowl. 1. Remove the handled cup from under the juice spout on the side of the Cold Press Juicer and the other handled cup from under the pulp spout at the back of the Cold Press Juicer. Serve and store remaining juice. Store or discard pulp. Wash and rinse both handled cups and replace under both spouts. 2. IMPORTANT: To aid in cleaning your Cold Press Juicer, run motor while adding clean water through the hopper to rinse unit before cleaning. CAUTION: Unplug from electrical outlet and allow the motor to stop completely before disassembly. 3. Follow the detailed procedures outlined in the Disassembly Instructions and remove all parts before cleaning. 4. Rinse the lid and food hopper under running water. 5. Wet the cleaning brush to clean juice and pulp from inside the juice strainer. Brush in a circular motion to clean the juice strainer holes from both inside and outside of the juice strainer. Brush and rinse the base of the juice strainer to remove any debris from the strainer s bottom groove. WARNING: NEVER SUBMERGE THE MOTOR BASE IN WATER OR OTHER LIQUID! 15

6. Rinse the crushing auger in warm running water. Use the cleaning brush to remove any debris from the base of the auger. 7. Rinse the processing bowl in warm running water. Use the handle of the cleaning brush to help clear pulp from the spout; rinse well. 8. Wipe the exterior of the motor base with a damp sponge, cloth, or paper towel. Use any mild liquid dish washing detergent but DO NOT use products containing ammonia or scouring powders. These products will dull, scratch or mar the surface. 9. If any juice has spilled under the Cold Press Juicer or either of the handled cups, clean legs and countertop area with a lightly soaped sponge, then dry. 10 The Cold Press Juicer s food pusher, lid, stainless steel juice strainer, crushing auger, processing bowl, 2 handled cups and cleaning brush should be placed on the top rack only when using a dishwasher. Hand wash and dry for best results. STORING INSTRUCTIONS 1. Unplug the Cold Press Juicer. Following the Assembly Instructions described in this Instruction Manual, assemble clean, dry parts before storing. 2. Store the food pusher in the hopper of the lid. 3. Store the Cold Press Juicer in its box in a clean, dry area. 4. Do not put any stress on the cord where it enters unit, as this could cause cord to fray and break. 16

TROUBLESHOOTING PROBLEM The Cold Press Juicer will not turn ON. The Cold Press Juicer has stopped during juicing. The juice strainer is blocked. Food is jammed around the crushing auger and inside the base of the processing bowl. POSSIBLE SOLUTION The Cold Press Juicer s safety system prevents the unit from operating unless the lid is completely and properly assembled. The crushing auger s top spindle must press against the lid; the lid s tab must be fully inserted into the slot in the upper rim of the processing bowl. Press the ON/OFF/REVERSE button to OFF (O). Turn the locking lid to ensure lid is locked in place. (See Figure 6.) The stainless juice strainer and crushing auger may be clogged with pulp. Clean the juice strainer and rinse the crushing auger. Reassemble Cold Press Juicer. Check to make sure the juice strainer is properly seated. Check to make sure the crushing auger is properly seated. Press the ON/OFF/REVERSE button to REVERSE (REV) the direction of the crushing auger and then back to ON to resume operation. Clean the stainless steel juice strainer and rinse the crushing auger. Chop dense fruits and vegetables into smaller pieces to facilitate juicing. Cut wheat grass into small handfuls and insert grass vertically for better juicing results. Like any other household appliance, prolonged continuous usage will cause the unit to overheat and stop. Let it cool off for an hour and turn back ON to continue juicing. 17

PROBLEM Excessive noise or vibrations occur after Cold Press Juicer is turned ON. POSSIBLE SOLUTION Try alternating different types of produce while juicing. Because of the Cold Press Juicer s motor, a small amount of noise and/or vibration is normal when the unit is turned ON and as it comes to a complete stop. Lid is difficult to twist open. Low extraction rate. ALWAYS check to make sure the lid is freely able to twist off the processing bowl before adding more produce to the hopper. For best results, for every half handled cup of juice produced, unplug the Cold Press Juicer, remove the lid, strainer and auger from the processing bowl. Use the handle of the cleaning brush to help clear pulp from the spout; rinse well. NEVER allow the processing bowl to fill with juice and residue. (See Figure 9.) To ensure maximum results when juicing, alternate between leafy, harder, and softer produce. FIGURE 9 18
