PRIVATE EVENTS

EVERY SINGLE DETAIL On its day, every event needs to be special. A wedding must glow and sparkle. An intimate supper must delight the eye and the palate. A meeting of minds needs space in which to discuss, debate and inspire. On a quiet corner in Mayfair Village, at the heart of one of London s most revered and respected hotels, lie spaces both intimate and grand, designed to be a platform for gatherings, celebrations and conversations. When the time comes, your event is our focus; your details become our obsession. We leave nothing to chance. We ve spent over 100 years paying very close attention to the little details. We d love to show you around. Welcome to The Connaught. 1

HAND-PICKED. EXPERTLY TRAINED. ALL YOURS. 4 5

YOUR OWN PRIVATE SPACE AT THE HEART OF THE HOTEL 6 7

THE MAYFAIR ROOM From the warm welcome on your arrival, to the quiet calm of the lobby, past art deco splendour and over dramatic marble floors, down a private staircase and finally through the glistening silver and bronze double doors of the Mayfair Room, this short journey has to be one of the most wonderful preludes to an event of any description that could be enjoyed in London. Entering this magnificent space is in itself a moment to celebrate. The Mayfair Room is the first ballroom to be built in this part of the city for 80 years. The work to create the room, carried out by Guy Oliver, includes a sprung parquet floor, full length antique mirrors, surfaces that cast a gentle light across the room as well as a state-of-the-art sound system and cinema screen. The space is also very flexible, and can be set to host gala dinners, wedding receptions, presentations, private screenings and catwalk shows. And of course, the team for your event will have been hand-picked, at your disposal when you need them, and discreet when you don t. 8 9

10 11

THE MAPLE ROOM The Maple Room is one of our most versatile spaces. Once guests have been welcomed in the lobby, they will pass by the Garden of Illusion designed by Tom Stuart-Smith before arriving at the room itself. Floor to ceiling windows flood the room with natural daylight, making it a bright and airy venue for meetings or presentations. Maple panelling and a glittering mirrored ceiling add to a sense of occasion. You can also use the Maple Room for a drinks reception before descending the private staircase to dine or dance the night away in the Mayfair Room. The Maple Room is hugely flexible, and comes with its own stateof-the-art sound system. There is room for 100 as a reception room, or 50 if you re hosting a private screening. We can also divide the room to provide two more intimate meeting spaces, depending on your specific requirements. 12 13

THE REGENCY ROOM When you step from the high-ceilinged stone hallway through mirrored bronze framed double doors into the soft light of the Regency Room, it s worth spending a moment or two taking in your surroundings. This, among all the public spaces within the hotel, is the one that epitomises its heritage, history and sense of luxury better than any other. It is The Connaught in microcosm, and has rightly become one of our most popular venues for weddings, private dinners, cocktail parties and more recently product launches. Light panelling painted in eau de nils and ivories, a solid oak parquet floor, a hand-carved white marble chimney piece, period paintings and crystal chandeliers hanging from the neo- Adam ceiling its details picked out in gold, white and pale mint greens this is truly one of The Connaught s jewels, easily accessed through the Carlos Room or by a private entrance. Whatever the nature of your event, you couldn t wish for a more sumptuous setting. And once the doors close, the Regency Room instantly becomes a discreet hideaway for 30 at the table, or 40 for a more informal reception. 14 15

THE CARLOS ROOM The first thing you ll notice as you walk into The Connaught s most recently restored event space is the wonderful light; it floods through two magnificent windows, glinting off delicate accents of palladium and gold leaf and sparkling through the crystal beads of a chandelier that hangs from the room s 17th century revival ceiling. Sensitively and skilfully re-designed by renowned interior designer Guy Oliver, the glorious new Carlos Room also features a marble fireplace that has stood in the same place since the hotel s opening back in 1897. This is perhaps The Connaught s most intimate room for private entertaining, made magical by the sunlight that illuminates the delicate lavender and ivory decor. It is perfectly suited for gatherings, from wedding breakfasts and anniversaries to baby showers and family celebrations. Accessed by grand double doors from the Regency Room, or by its own more discreet private entrance, the Carlos Room can comfortably seat 30, or host 40 when the order of the day is mingling with cocktails and canapés. 16 17

THE LVE HE SILVER OAK & OAK & ROOMS These two rooms are among the most intimate and discreet meeting spaces at The Connaught. The two smaller Silver and Oak Rooms are able to accommodate up to 12 and four guests respectively, set against beautiful silver oak panelling. Their more modest size makes them perfect for board and business meetings, as well as private dining for smaller gatherings. Each enjoys natural daylight and windows overlooking the Garden of Illusion, designed by the multi-award winning Tom Stuart-Smith. The Silver Room connects via a door to the Oak Room, which can then become an ideal break-out space. The Silver Room 20 21

THE SOMMELIER S TABLE Beneath our legendary kitchens, The Connaught has a collection of some 6,000 vintage wines, impeccably kept in our limestone-clad cellar. Overlooking it is the Sommelier s Table, perhaps one of Mayfair s best-kept secrets and able to accommodate a maximum of eight people for a lunch or dinner of epicurean discovery. When booking the Sommelier s Table, the Head Sommelier will talk with you and propose an exclusive wine menu, taking into account special requirements such as particular styles, regions or vintages. Our two Michelin-starred chef Hélène Darroze will then create a dedicated tasting menu to match the wines you select. On the day itself, your Sommelier will escort you to the cellar, and give you a tour of its collection of rare and fine wines. You will then be served lunch or dinner by the Chef, and each accompanying wine will be served, and described, by our Sommelier. Each food and wine combination will also be carefully explained. And when the afternoon or evening is over, guests will depart with a souvenir menu, and a special gift to remind them of this unique experience. 22 23

EXCLUSIVE USE THE CONNAUGHT BAR EXCLUSIVE USE CHAMPAGNE ROOM Intimate and inviting, discreet and unique, the Champagne Room is a hidden haven in the heart of the hotel. Illuminated by a spectacular contemporary skylight and flickering candles throughout the evening, the pure crystal glassware by Baccarat sparkles from the corner bar. Transformed by interiors expert Guy Oliver, the bar is the focal point of the room from which guests can choose one of 40 fine vintage champagnes. There is also a considerable selection of wines, fine and rare spirits including some made for and only available at The Connaught. Impeccably dressed in soft, contemporary colours with a luxurious banquette, leather backed chairs and a Kilkenny Blue limestone floor, the space is perfect for gatherings from two to 25 people. There are few spaces you can call your own for an evening in the heart of London that have the sense of occasion, glamour and conviviality of the Connaught Bar. With its own discreet entrance on Mayfair s fashionable Mount Street, the bar s refined calm, and art deco touches conjure up the atmosphere of a bygone age. You and your guests can choose from the bar s comprehensive range of spirits, vintage and limited edition champagnes, and a six-section cocktail menu prepared with exemplary skill. You can even create your own version of the world-renowned Connaught martini and have it served from our legendary martini trolley. Hired for your exclusive use, the bar can accommodate up to 80 of your guests, and is licensed to serve alcoholic drinks until 1am. 24 25

EXCLUSIVE USE Hélène DARROze AT THE CONNAUGHT Rare indeed is the passion, consistency and sheer brilliance of our two Michelin-starred chef Hélène Darroze. Rarer still is the fact that you can book a restaurant of such exceptional quality for private functions. But, with Hélène Darroze at the Connaught all to yourselves, what you and your guests will participate in is a very personal culinary journey. Over nine courses of her signature menu you can gain an insight into the philosophy, inspirations and heart of Hélène s cooking. Based on regional and seasonally inspired ingredients, and with distinct references to her native south-west France, she has taken the gastronomic experience at The Connaught to new levels. Along with the stunning new design of the restaurant by Parisian-based interiors superstar India Mahdavi, this unique experience is the stuff of dreams for food-lovers. 26 27

THE AMAN SPA SUITES & ROOMS To relax before a big event, or unwind afterwards, the tranquil calm of the Aman Spa is a haven away from the hustle and bustle. There are five low-lit treatment rooms, each with their own dressing area, treatment area and steam room, along with individual music systems. You can indulge in a range of holistic massages, body treatments and healing therapies, conducted by our own experts, all reflecting the renewing traditions of China, Thailand, India and the Americas. You can also take a dip or a swim in our subtly lit 60 square metre swimming pool or spend time in the fitness studio if you re feeling more energetic. And whether you re a bride, groom, or are about to make the most important presentation of your life, the full range of treatments we offer can be tailored to your specific requirements. Wake up refreshed, or know that you can retire after an exhausting day or late supper to the seclusion and calm of one of our magnificent rooms. The Connaught has 121 rooms, including 34 suites, that offer guests the ultimate in contemporary luxury the night before or after an event. The beds are exquisitely comfortable, dressed in luxury linen and cashmere throws, and lit from below to create the impression that as you sleep you re floating on air. Furniture combines bespoke and inherited pieces and matches the individual character of each room. Our newer rooms have been designed with full height windows; as the light floods in it is softened by hand-embroidered blinds. For a particularly significant celebration, our range of luxurious feature suites includes the Apartment, designed by David Collins, giving guests an almost residential feel in the most stunning of interiors. 28 29
