Infrared HomeHeating System Model 2000

Model 2000 Specifications Quartz heating elements High efficiency heat exchanger Power consumption 110/120 Volts AC 15 Amps(1500 watts) Adjustable thermostat Automatic overheating cutoff circuit UL approved Eastern Lake Electronics Company. Ltd. Lianyungang Economic & Technology Development Zone,Jiangsu, China 222047 2

The Infrared Heating system provides a moist warm environment by drawing air from close to the floor, filtering then warming the air by passing it over heat exchangers heated by long life infrared quartz elements. A quite fan blows filtered air over the heat exchangers and out the front of the heater. This transfer of heat from the exchangers to the air is accomplished without removing moisture from the air. A steady flow of heated air heats the surrounding walls and furniture in the room producing a warm and even distribution of heat to the room and floor. Another advantage to the system is the heater s oak cabinet remains cool to the touch, all of the heat is directed through the exhaust vent. The heaters are safe, efficient and will last for years. 3

Installing your Heating System Model 2000 1. Read the Safety notice located on page 6 of this manual. 1. Position the heater at least 3 feet from any combustible material. The intake vent is located on the back of the heater. Therefore the back (rear) of the heater must be at least 6 inches from any non combustible surface. 2. Connect the heaters power cord to a 120 Volt 15 amp or higher grounded circuit. 3. A thermostat is mounted on the back of the unit. Turn its control knob all the way to the right. This is its highest setting. 4. Turn the power switch located near the front grill ON or I position. A led will turn red. 5. The heater will warm up and air will begin flowing out of the front vent 6. When the area is warm enough turn the thermostat control counter clockwise or to the left until you hear a click. The heater is now calibrated to maintain the temperature. 7. If you want to increase or decrease the heaters output turn the thermostat control to the right to increase and to the left to decrease its output. 8. Use the power switch on the front of the heater to turn it on or off. The heater will go through a shut down routine with the fan turning off after all the heat in the heater has been exhausted. 9. As a safety feature the heater is equipped with a auto shut down circuit that will turn off the heater if the intake or exhaust vents are obstructed. This prevents the heaters infrared quartz heaters from over heating and causing damage. To restore the heater after an autoshut down follow these steps. 1. Set the power switch on the front of the unit to OFF or O position. 2. Turn the thermostat control counter clockwise all the way to the left. 3. Unplug the heater from the AC outlet. 4. Wait 1 minute for the heater to reset. 5. Follow steps 2 through 6 as listed above. 4

Air Filter Maintenance The heating system has an air filter located on the back of the unit. This must be cleaned on a regular basis. Environmental conditions will determine when the filter must be cleaned. Check the filter on a weekly basis and clean as needed. When the filter is dirty remove it. The filter can be removed by simply pulling it away from the heater. You can clean the filter by spraying warm water over it. Do this in the direction opposite of the air flow. You can even use a bit of soap. Let the filter dry before placing it back on the heater. How to get the most from your new heating system The heating system works best when it is placed near a inside wall as it is warmer than an exterior wall. The heater starts with warmer air and directs the air flow through the room heating the exterior wall. If the Heating System is used in a room that is separate from the general living area close off the existing registers and returns in the area. The Heating System is at its most efficient when maintaining a temperature in the low 70 s(f). Keep in mind that since the does not reduce the humidity in the air you will feel as warm with a setting of 70º as a normal setting of 74º or higher. 5

Read this before installing the heating system. Keep the heater 3 feet away from combustible materials such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes and curtains. The front exhaust vent of the heater is hot when in operation do not touch it. Before unplugging the heater turn the heater power switch off (located on front of unit) If heater cord is damaged or the heater malfunctions unplug the cord from the AC outlet. Contact a service facility. The heater is not intended to be used outdoors or in bathrooms or in locations with standing water. The front and back vents of the heater must not be obstructed by any surface or wall. Keep the area in front of the heater clear of any objects. Position the heater so its back is at least 6 inches from any wall or surface. The intake vent on the back of the heater must not be obstructed. Any modification or non-authorized repair voids any and all warranties. The heater power cord is equipped with a grounded 3 pin AC plug. Use proper UL approved adapters when connecting to a 2 plug output receptacle. The heater requires 120 Volts AC at 15 amps (1500 watts) do not connect the heater to a circuit that is rated less then 15 amps at 120 Volts AC. If connected to a Power strip the total load on the power strip must not exceed its rated amps (current). Any extension cords used to connect the heater to AC must be rated at more than 1500 watts(15 amps). Warning Improper use could result in electric shock, fire and injury to people. 6
