Apprenticeship Week Scotland 21 st 25 th May Home Services - Apprentices from Home Services will be showing the groups how to cut pipes, and apply compression joints to the pipes. Power Systems/ Operational Training & Generation - This will be a joint group with Power Systems and the operational training team, the group will be split into three groups the will look at a High Voltage fault exercise, cable jointing and a Mobile Elevated Working Platform. Generation The exercise will be on entering into Confined Spaces and evacuating a casualty. Some of the aspects of interest are: Identifying Risks Testing for Dangerous Gasses (Using Gas Testers and what gasses to test for) Safety Clothing - Using of Harnesses Entering in a Safe Way Evacuating an injured person Contracting - Apprentices will deliver a short presentation, and then they will get two volunteers and ask their classmates to dress them in what they think is the correct PPE for the jobs that they have been shown throughout the presentation Innovation - The innovation team will carry out a number of tasks where the schoolchildren will finish the day with some more interactive activities.
