Lee Center, Alexandria, VA. The meeting was called to order by Soror Rhonda Luss, Basileus at 10:01 am. Meditation: Led by Soror Tujuanna Williams. Greetings: Soror Gayle Jordan Introduction of visiting sorors: Soror Glenda Pittman, Soror LaTonya Wilson, Soror Patrice Richardson, Soror Keisha Powell, Soror Briana Smith, Soror Nicole McBeth, Soror Valerie Pringle, Soror Maia Croom, and Soror Zeanique Barber Quorum: Soror Yvette Darnaby, Philacter. Received correspondence from Baird, Mandalas & Brockstedt, LLC, the law firm representing the Brooks Family Trust, stating that Ivy Beyond the Wall Barbara M. Brooks gifted the Zeta Chi Omega Chapter $3,000.00. The Chapter is required to complete and return the receipt of release. Basileus: Soror Rhonda Luss OFFICER REPORTS. Report is also in the Ivyette. Thanked sorors for wearing pink in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Reminded sorors that pink stands as a visual reminder to get a mammogram, as early detection is key to a positive long-term prognosis. Recognized Cancer Survivors.

Zeta Chi Omega was nominated for the NAACP s Henry L. Holmes Meritorious Service Award for achievements in the county of Arlington and surrounding communities. The Chapter will be recognized at the 70 th Annual Freedom Fund Banquet on Saturday, October 29, 2016, at Ft. Myers Officers Club. There are six tickets still available at the Chapter table. The tickets are $85 per person. Attended Undergraduate Roundup in Greenville, NC, on September 23-23, 2016. The following Zeta Chi Omega Sorors were also in attendance: Sorors VaShawn Guice Veal, Crystal Lander, Ade Leaka Gore, Lula Hicks, Kim Conners and Madam Regional Director, Joyce Henderson. MOTION: By the direction of the Executive Committee, it is moved that the Chapter ratify the $500 fee, paid from Zeta Chi Omega funds, to cover the fee for Sigma Alpha Chapter s Evaluation. Call for the Vote. Unanimous Vote. Motion Carried. Anti-Basileus: Soror Tamara Rowe Presented Proposed 2017 Chapter Calendar -The following additions and deletions were suggested: Add: IFNV Fundraiser- March 10, 2017 PanHellenic Cookout June 25, 2017 Delete: All Proposed MIP dates from the Calendar Program report presented by Soror Andrea Mial Presented written report Target I: Educational Enrichment Northern Western Cluster is scheduled for October 28-29, 2016, at the Hyatt Regency Dulles. In support of the One Million Backpack Committee, each soror is asked to bring a backpack, filled with healthy snacks, to Cluster. Target II: Health Promotion October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Domestic Violence Awareness Month. On October 13, 2016, the Association of Alexandria Radiologists presents Couture for a Cure, a fashion show to benefit the Vola Lawson Breast Cancer Memorial Fund. The fashion show will be held at the Lee Center from 7:00-9:00 PM. Target III: Family Strengthening In observance of National Childhood Hunger Day, the chapter will participate in the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) s Backpack Buddies program. The program provides weekend and holiday meal packs for foodinsecure Arlington County schoolchildren. Zeta Chi Omega Chapter will sponsor 100 children at $7.50 per child, for a total of $750. Project Stepout will meet on October 11, 2016, and October 24, 2016, at the Charles Houston Recreation Center in Alexandria, VA. Report will be filed for audit. MOTION: Soror Blanche Maness moved to reimburse the Basileus for all expenses at the Atlanta Boule to not include entertainment. Presented Proposed 2017 Chapter Budget- Total Projected Income-$112,000.00, Total Projected Expenses- $112,000.00 The Finance Committee recommended dues/assessment at $320.00 for Non-Life Members and $195.00 for Life Members. The returned check fee will remain at $25.00. MOTION: It was moved to transfer $1500 from contingency line item to the Basileus line item, Miscellaneous Expenses in the Proposed 2017 Budget. Seconded. Discussion. Amendment to the Motion: Add: It was moved to transfer $1500 from contingency line item to the Graduate Advisor line item, Miscellaneous Expenses in the Proposed 2017 Budget. Amended Motion: It was moved to transfer $1500 from the contingency line item to the Basileus line item, Miscellaneous Expenses and transfer $1500 from the contingency line item to the Graduate Advisor line item, Miscellaneous Expenses in the Proposed 2017 Budget. Anti-Pecunious Grammateus: Soror Ingrid Alexander Total Membership as of 09/30/2016: 382 Total Cash Receipts for period 09/01/2016-09/30/2016: $2,342.00 Note that the Pecunious Grammateus and Tamiouchos reports differ due to items receipted in September, but not yet reflected in the deposits for September. Graduate Advisor: Soror VaShawn Guice Veal Soror Althea Matteson, Basileus of Sigma Alpha, presided over the October Joint General Membership Meeting for Zeta Chi Omega and Sigma Alpha Chapters. Sigma Alpha hosted the #Bethe Voice debate watch party on September 29, 2016. Attended MAR Undergraduate Roundup, held September 23-24, 2016, in Greenville, NC Sigma Alpha Chapter underwent an evaluation for years 2012-2015. Sigma Alpha Chapter will not conduct a Fall MIP. Discussed the challenges of a City Chapter with different Universities on different calendars. Hodegos: Soror Gayle Jordan Recognized October birthdays. Soror Gwen Felder had eye surgery Soror Valerie Flournoy lost her father. Received Thank-you cards from Golden Soror Barbara Anderson and Golden Soror Shirley Taylor for their birthday arrangements. Received thank-you card from Sorors Loretta and Karyn Berry for the out pouring of love from the sorors. 1 condolence arrangement was sent. 3

STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS Standards: Soror Jennifer Hansborough, Chairman Distributed Chapter Assessment Form for completion by sorors. In order to receive recognition from Corporate as in previous years, at least ¾ of the Chapter will need to complete the Form. Standards Committee will be following up on any outstanding Mid-Year Committee Reports. In reference to correspondence received in December about the Chapter s 2015 Evaluation, Soror Kendra Gillespie recommended contacting the Regional Representative to obtain the official Evaluation letter and to schedule the debrief. Strategic Planning: Soror Carol Turner, Chairman Presented Proposed Zeta Chi Omega 2016-2020 Strategic Plan The proposed plan will be posted on the Chapter website and presented for vote at the November meeting. Committee will review the application for certification. Recognized the members of the Awards Committee Nominations for the 2016 Zeta Chi Omega Chapter Awards are due no later than November 5, 2016. Sorors can present written nominations for the following awards: Attendance Award, Ms. Precious Pearl, Special Achievement Award, Miss Pink and Green Award, Soror of the Year Award, and Unsung Hero Award. Sorors, Committee Chairmen, and Co-Chairmen should start reviewing their individual or committee portfolios for submission for the 2017 MAR Awards. Submissions are due by February 4, 2017. Membership: Soror Tonya Perkinson, Chairman New Chapter Member Orientation is scheduled for November 5, 2016, from 12:30-2:00 PM, at the Alexandria Police Station in Alexandria, VA. Presented new Chapter Polo Shirt. Cost is $25 for Women s fit (S-3X) and $30 for Men s fit (3X and 4X). AD HOC COMMITTEE REPORTS Founders Day 2017: Soror Saundra McCullough-Cobey, Chairman Founders Day 2017 will be celebrated at Ft. Belvoir Officers Club, on January 28, 2017. The cost will be $40 per person for a lunch buffet to include two entrees, two vegetables, two starches, one dessert, fresh salad, assorted dinner rolls with butter, coffee and tea. Madam Regional Director, Soror Joyce Henderson, will be the guest speaker. Service Project will be the collection of SmarTrip cards in the amount of $10. There is a $2 fee and $8 will be loaded on the card. These cards will be donated to the residents of the Carpenter s Shelter. Sisterly Relations: Soror Stephanie Woodland Kelly, Chairman In an effort to facilitate connectedness in a chapter of more than 350 members, Zeta Chi Omega has Sister Circles. Sister Circles (SC) align smaller groups of sorors based on geographic location providing an opportunity for sisterly bonding on a smaller scale. Annual Holiday Chapter Luncheon will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016, at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City. Chapter photo will be taken prior to the luncheon. The cost per Zeta Chi Omega soror is $40. The cost for all other sorors is $45. ANNOUNCEMENTS IFNV: Soror Hazel Cameron, President There are vacancies on the IFNV Board. Soror Madeline Wingate-Alfonso will be the Chair of the Debutante Cotillion. Luncheon Fashion Show: Soror Jennifer Hansborough, Chairman The 58 th Annual Cooley-Moore Scholarship Luncheon Fashion Show will be held Sunday, November 13, 2016, beginning at 2:00 PM, at the Hilton McLean in McLean, Virginia. Ticket prices are $75, and tables are $750. There are still 26 tables available. Time and Place: The next General Membership meeting will be held on November 5, 2016 at the Nannie J. Lee Center at 10:00 am. Adjournment: The meeting adjourned at 1:22 PM, followed by the International Hymn and Pledge. Grammateus Date Approved Basileus 6
