GENERAL USER INFORMATION Information about using the operation manual Before using the appliance for the first time, you must read and understand the operation manual completely. Consider the operation manual as part of the product and store it in a safe and accessible place. Include this operation manual if passing the appliance on to a third party. In the case of conflicts with national safety specifications or instructions, the national requirements must be followed. IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS When using your electrical appliance, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following: Intended Use Only use hair clippers to cut human hair, beard hair and eyebrows. Only use animal clippers to cut animal hair and animal fur. Requirements on the user Read the operation manual in full and familiarise yourself with it before the first use. This appliance is not suitable for use by people (including children) with physical, sensory or mental disabilities or who do not have the relevant experience or knowledge of using such appliance, unless under the supervision of or after having received instruction in the use of the appliance by an individual who is responsible for their safety. should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance. Repairs to the appliance must only be carried out by a trained electrician, in accordance with the electrical engineering regulations! Hazards Please adhere to the following safety instructions! Danger! Electric shock due to damage to appliance/plug-in transformer. Never use the appliance if the mains cable or plug-in transformer is damaged. Furthermore, do not use the appliance if it is not working correctly, if it is damaged or if it has fallen into water. In these cases, send the appliance to our service centre for inspection and repair. Only specialists properly trained in the handling of electrotechnical appliances may repair electrical equipment. Danger! Electric shock due to penetration of liquid. Never touch electrical equipment that has fallen into water. Disconnect from the mains immediately. Never use electrical equipment in the bath or under the shower. 5
Always position or store electrical equipment where it cannot fall into water (e.g. washbasin). Prevent electrical equipment from coming into contact with water and other liquids. Only use and store the appliance in dry rooms. Danger of explosion! Never use the appliance where aerosol (spray) products are being used or where oxygen is released. Do not attempt to replace the battery. Do not expose the appliance to temperatures below 0 C and above +40 C for any length of time. Avoid direct exposure to sunlight. Warning! Injuries due to incorrect handling. To prevent injury, never use the appliance if the blade set is damaged. Always switch the appliance off before storage, as the appliance can fall down due to the vibrations. Handle with care! Damage due to incorrect power supply. Only operate the appliance with an alternating current and with the voltage stated on the nameplate. 6
Handle with care! Injuries due to incorrect handling. Only use accessories recommended by the manufacturer. Never insert or allow objects to fall into the openings of the appliance. Do not hold the appliance by the mains cable to carry it, and do not use the cable as a handle. When disconnecting the appliance from the mains, never pull on the mains cable or on the appliance itself. Do not wind the mains cable around the appliance. Keep the mains cable and appliance away from hot surfaces. Make sure that the mains cable is not twisted or kinked when charging or storing. Only use the plug-in transformer provided. Only replace defective transformers with original spare parts which can be ordered on our customer service line. Do not use disposable batteries. Batteries should be replaced at authorized service centres. 7

It meets the requirements of EU Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive 2004/108/ EC, Low Voltage Directive 2006/95/EC and Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Preparation Keep the packaging material for safe storage or transport later. ffcheck that the contents are complete. ffcheck all the parts for possible transport damage. Safety Handle with care! Damage due to incorrect power supply. f f Only operate the appliance with an alternating current and with the voltage stated on the nameplate. 8
CHARGING THE BATTERY 1.Remove the trimmer and recharging cord from the packaging material. 2.Plug recharging cord into any convenient electrical outlet at the correct voltage. 3.Plug recharging cord into trimmer and initially charge for 16 hours. Be sure the trimmer is in the OFF position when charging. 4.To prolong the life of your unit, you should completely discharge the battery at least once a month by leaving the unit off the cord between uses and running it until it stops. 5.Trimmer blades have very precise hardened, ground, and lapped cutting teeth. Blades should be handled carefully and never bumped or used to cut dirty or abrasive materials. 6.To clean the unit, use either a clean, dry or dampened cloth. DO NOT USE benzene or thinner to clean the unit. OILING CAUTION In order to ensure that you get the most life and performance out of your trimmer, we recommend that you oil your unit daily. To oil it properly, the unit should be held so the blades are in a downward position. With the trimmer blade running, dispense 2-3 drops of oil across the top blade. (Use Wahl Clipper Oil ONLY.) Wipe off excess oil so it does not run into the motor compartment. Oil in the motor compartment will eventually lead to poor motor performance. Blades should be oiled after using disinfectant or sanitizing solution. TROUBLESHOOTING If your rechargeable trimmer does not seem to be operating or charging properly, please check the following: 9
1.Check the outlet s current by plugging another appliance (one you know is in proper working condition) into the outlet. 2.Make sure the unit is not connected to a power source that turns itself off when lights are turned off. 3.Verify that the blade assembly moves freely and is mounted properly. DISPOSAL Handle with care! Environmental damage in the case of incorrect disposal. ffcorrect disposal will ensure environmental protection and prevent any potentially harmful impacts on people and the environment. Adhere to the relevant legal requirements when disposing of the appliance. Information on the disposal of electrical and electronic appliances in the European Community: Within the European Community, national regulations are specified for the disposal of electrical appliances, based on EU Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive 2002/96/EC (WEEE). In accordance with this, the appliance can no longer be disposed of with the local or domestic waste. The appliance will be accepted free of charge by local collection points or recycling centres. WIRING If the supply cord is damaged it must be replaced by the manufacturers service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard! This product must only be used with the transformer supplied. Should a replacement be required contact Wahl Customer Services. 10
