8USING YOUR EGG COOKER USING YOUR EGG COOKER 1. Upper cover Is used to preserve heat and its transparent design allows you to check on the food while cooking. 2. Steaming eggs 2 eggs can be steamed simultaneously. Add the layering tray to poach an egg at the same time. Off warm heat 3. Steaming shelf To steam small breads and other foods. Add the layering tray to cook an egg at the same time. Off warm heat 4. Egg shelf Holds 6 eggs and cooks according to your preference. Off warm heat 5. Water level The different water levels indicated on the cup, allows you to boil eggs to different temperatures. 6. Measuring cup Measures the water to boil eggs. The protrusion on the bottom helps prevent the eggs from crackingdue to the heat. 7. Heating mode The power is on and it begins the cooking process. The alarm will ring after eggs are cooked. 8. Warm mode The power will go on and off to maintain temperature to keep the eggs warm. 9. Control knob off Power is off. 10. Power light The light is on when the power is on. The light will turn on and off during warm mode.
Before Using your Egg Cooker Clean all parts with lukewarm water and soap. Dry thoroughly before using WARNING: Do not immerse the appliance in water! USING YOUR EGG COOKER CAUTION: Hold the handle when lifting the cover. When the egg cooker is in use or when the egg is cookedhot steam will escape. Hold the handle, lift the cover and then remove the egg shelf. Be careful the parts are hot after cooking. WARNING: The appliance is very hot during use. Do not touch the Egg Cooker surface it is extremely hot and you can burn yourself. Never leave the Egg Cooker unattended while boiling waterespecially when children are nearby. Do not open the lid while in use. Do not immerse the base in water or any liquids. This can cause electric shock or damage to the appliance. Be careful when handling the eggs when finished- they are very hot. 9
USING YOUR EGG COOKER Using Your Egg Cooker Boiling eggs Six eggs can be boiled simultaneously. 1. Use the measuring cup to add the right amount of water to the heating tray. Note: On the measuring cup there are lines on 3 sides. The lines near the top are for hardboiled eggs. The lines in the middle are for medium boiled eggs The lines near the bottom of the cup are for soft boiled. The lines represent how much water per egg. The top line is for 1 egg and the bottom line is for 6 eggs. The more eggs you use the less water that is needed. 2. Using the protrusion at the bottom of the measuring cup - make a crack on the wider end of the egg. 3. Put the egg on the heating plate and put the bigger end of the egg on the egg shelf. 4. Place the cover on top. 5. Insert the plug into a wall outlet. 6. Turn the control switch to heat mode. The indicator light will turn on and the egg steamer will start heating up. When the water in the heating tray evaporates, the eggs are cooked. The appliance will turn off and the alarm will ring. 7. Turn the switch to off mode, and remove the egg. To keep the egg warm, leave the egg inside on warm mode. Off warm heat 10 This appliance has two layers, to cook eggs and steam a small bread or vegetables at the same time.
Poached eggs 1. Add the right amount of water to the heating plate with the measuring cup. 2. Put the egg shelf on the heating plate and place the egg trays on top. 3. Evenly brush butter or vegetable oil on the egg tray. 4. Crack the egg into the egg tray. 5. Plug in the appliance. 6. Turn the control switch to heat mode. When the eggs are cooked, the alarm will ring. There is also an option to place a small bread on the steaming shelf, which goes on top of the layering tray. Then put on the cover and begin cooking. USING YOUR EGG COOKER Steaming small breads 1. Fill the measuring cup with the maximum amount of water and pour into heating tray. 2. If desired, place eggs on the egg shelf on top of the heating tray 3. Put the bread you are steaming on the steaming shelf and cover. 4. Plug in appliance. 5. Turn the control switch to heat mode. When the eggs are cooked, the alarm will ring. off warm heat The following is the general time for steaming eggs (it will change according to the size and number of eggs): Tender: 6-10 minutes Middle: 10-15 minutes Hard: 16-20 minutes 11
USING YOUR EGG COOKER Tender Egg: The yolk remains liquidy, while the egg white becomes lightly firm. Middle Egg: The yolk hardens a bit while the center of the yolk remains liquidy. The egg white becomes firm. Hard Egg: The complete yolk and egg white becomes firm. Instructions for the measuring cup Refer to instructions on the measuring cup for water volume. Water volume is adjusted by the number of eggs. STORAGE Clean and dry all parts before storing. Store the Egg Cooker in its box or in a clean, dry place. 12
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE: After every use: Unplug the appliance. Clean all parts with lukewarm water and dishwashing soap. Do not bend the steaming shelf when washing it- as it can crack. Clean steaming shelf with water and dry with cloth. If grooves on the heating plate are difficult to clean, wash with some white vinegar and hot water. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE Notes: Do not clean any part of the egg steamer in a dishwasher. Hot water and strong detergent will misshapen and ruin the parts. Do not clean any part of the machine with steel wool, chemicals or heavy detergent. Maintenance Do not disassemble the appliance- if there is any damage, send the product to a designated service station for repair. 13 13
