Website: http://www.uniscape.eu Location European University Institute, Florence, Italy Sala Seminario 2 - Badia Fiesolana Presentation The Master Class in Landscape Research will develop the following themes: landscape identification and typology, participation, perception, and effects of policy development on landscape. The aforementioned topics will be analysed with reference to the European Landscape Convention and in particular to urban, rural and periurban landscapes. The program includes 13 hours of lectures and 8 hours of guided excursion. The panel of invited lecturers offers a wide range of methodologies and experiences in the field of landscape research. The Master Class is addressed to PhD students, researchers and students interested in landscape and willing to discuss and deepen their knowledge comparing it with other approaches. Professor Mauro Agnoletti (Florence University, Department of Environmental Science and Technology) is the scientific coordinator of the Master Class, designated by UNISCAPE. 1
Subjects of the lectures Interdisciplinary Approach in Landscape Research; Participation Studies; Perception Studies; Landscape Identification and Typology (urban/rural/periurban); Effects of Policy Development on Landscape. Excursion Landscape transformations in the Chianti area (in collaboration with CIVILSCAPE) The program includes a full day field excursion in the Chianti area (22 October 2010). During the excursion different typologies of landscape will be analysed and assessed: traditional rural landscape, periurban landscape, industrial landscape and urban landscape.
