ISSUES AND CONSIDERATIONS 1. Replace non-original window with with aluminum-clad exterior, wood interior window submitted i. The applicant requests to replace her existing, non-original window with a window more in character of the building. The side room was originally a porch before it was filled in either in the 1950s or 1960s. The window facing 16 th Street will remain and features 15 panes. This application was continued from the Thursday, May 14 meeting. The original window proposed featured a casement picture window with a three-pane transom with exterior nine-over-one, double hung, vinyl windows. The proposed window will be a picture window with the outside windows featuring nine-over-nine double hung with the central windows featuring a single pane with no transom. The proposed material is aluminum-clad exterior, wood interior. ii. A.4.1 Retain and preserve original historic windows, including glazing, trim, muntins, and character-defining details. COA-15-016 A.4.3 To return the home to its original historic appearance, remove non-historic windows and trim. When selecting replacements, use physical or pictorial evidence. If no evidence exists, select windows which are consistent with the architectural style of your home. A.4.5 If replacement of deteriorated windows is necessary, match the original historic windows in sash design, size, shape, muntin pattern, location, glazing area and tint. Insulated glass (double pane) windows may be used. Exterior muntins are required on simulated divided light windows..1 Brady Heights Match the original historic window material. iii.
