Message from the District Vice President by Rafael Agrasanchez Once again, I would like to thank all of the leaders within ISA s District 11 specifically for volunteering their time and effort into making ISA the prestigious and professional organization that it is. Historically District 11 is among the strongest districts in the society. Without you ISA would not be what it is. Every year the leaders within ISA coordinate monthly meetings, golf tournaments, table top shows, scholarships for students, educational seminars, Christmas parties, social events that promote exchange of ideas and methodologies and among other things create relationships that develop as we age in the automation industry. We begin to realize that the automation world is smaller than we thought before we joined ISA. In my mind this is one of the greatest assets to ISA and automation, the people. I want to also personally thank each of you who took time to cast a ballot. Data compiled by Survey and Ballot Systems, a company that has been conducting online elections for 20+ years, indicates that societies with membership between 15,000-33,999 conducting an online election typically have a response rate under 10%. I am pleased to report that the participation rate for our election was 6.89%, which aligns with this benchmark. This is especially positive since this is our first direct election and the election process was online. In addition, 91.7% of the voters indicated they were very satisfied or satisfied with the experience with only 1.6% indicating they were dissatisfied or very dissatisfied. I would like to thank those of you who provided specific feedback. Your input will help us make improvements to our process. I look forward to greater participation in future years as we continue to improve the voting experience and raise awareness of this voting process. Thank you for your continued support and engagement in ISA. ISA President Peggie Koon can be reached by email at president@isa.org. Oct - Nov 2014 ISA Newsletters, Southern District 11 15
