The New Zealand Water Efficiency Labelling Scheme (WELS) was introduced on 1 April 2010 and is a government initiative that provides information to help consumers make informed decisions. WELS labels are intended to assist your purchasing decisions, to save you money, and promote water conservation. Robin Levien is one of the UK s most consistently successful product designers of the last 25 years, with a special interest in ceramics. He has been working with Ideal Standard International for more than two decades. One of Levien s most popular designs for Ideal Standard is the Studio range, which has sold over 10 million items. Other well-known collections are Space (for smaller bathrooms), San Remo and more recently Connect, the brand s largest collection yet with over 100 items in the range. Levien s design motto is FAB: Functional, Affordable, Beautiful, he believes a combination of these three will always be a great success. Levien s interest in ceramics stems from school days. After graduating from the Royal College of Art in 1976, he worked alongside his former professor David Queensberry, and later became a senior partner of Queensberry Hunt Levien. UndERSTANdING THE different toilet TYPES ANd features 1. Back to Wall Close Coupled Toilet Suite The back-to-wall close coupled toilet suite adds a streamlined, modern look to any bathroom. Positioned flush with the wall, there is no gap behind and all waste and inlet pipes are concealed, with the cistern then positioned above the bowl. 2. Close Coupled Toilet Suite The close coupled suite has the cistern fitted against the wall and the pan is positioned away from the wall. The gap between the wall and the pan varies according to the model. S TRAP or P TRAP? P Trap The term P trap indicates that the outlet (waste) pipe goes through the wall. S Trap The term S trap indicates that the outlet (waste) pipe goes through the floor. NOTE: Your choice of S or P trap will depend on availability of access through the floor or wall.
