Projects demonstrating GIBB s Integrated Infrastructure Services Cosmo City Integrated Township Development City of Johannesburg Private Developer Consortium R1.5 billion Lead consulting engineers for the development of a mixed land use integrated township with a proposed 12 300 stands, targeting low and middle income families. Cosmo City is the first fully-integrated housing development in South Africa. King Williams Town Bulk Regional Sewerage Scheme Buffalo City Municipality R350 million GIBB has been involved in the strategic planning and financial evaluation of the scheme from inception. A regional sewerage scheme incorporating treatment of domestic effluent is required to allow consolidation of various smaller schemes in the area. Eden Island Development Seychelles Eden Island Development Company Seychelles R100 million Based on GIBB s involvement on similar projects, GIBB was requested to assist the client with an island development in Seychelles. Responsibilities included: design of all civil infrastructure including roads, water, sewer and stormwater reticulation for high income residential development. Port Harcourt Monorail Government of the Rivers State Port Harcourt, Nigeria R1.7 billion GIBB has been appointed for Phase 2 of the monorail project as the Owners Engineer. Responsibilities include: project management, programme management, system design and integration, construction assurance monitoring, procurement of an Operation and Maintenance contractor. 3
Ekurhuleni 5 Regional Spatial Development Frameworks (RSDFs) Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality R10 million All matters pertaining to integrated and co-ordinated spatial planning, the investigation of the integration between the transport system with economic development activities and ensuring that all facets of integration receive attention from the authorities. Happy Valley Extension 2: Upgrading of Informal Settlements and Consolidation Programmes City of Cape Town New Settlements Division R212 million GIBB was appointed for the project management of the Happy Valley UISP Project. GIBB also assisted the client to review the designs, undertake contract administration and site monitoring. The project includes the bulk and internal servicing of 1 452 erven. Thornhill Bulk Water Supply Scheme OR Tambo District Municipality R300 million GIBB was appointed to review the existing Thornhill Bulk Water Supply System, as well as the development of a masterplan to develop and extend the existing water supply system. Further responsibilities include the planning, design and construction supervision for five development corridors radiating up to 40 km of Mthatha town. City of Cape Town IRT Inner City City of Cape Town R320 million Lead consultant and project co-ordination for the City of Cape Town Inner City IRT infrastructure. Responsibilities include planning, design, procurement and implementation of various MyCiti infrastructure including bus depots, closed stations, bus stops, road upgrades for bus prioritisation. 4
