Old Pickhurst Built in 17th century Old Pickhurst is presented in immaculate condition throughout, and has undergone a large refurbishment project. The extensions in the early 20th century, 1930s and most recently in 2000s have helped to create a truly superb family home set in one of the most desirable locations in Surrey. The panelled drawing room is served by a decoratively carved stone surround and modern glazed fireplace. The dining room is similarly panelled and both rooms have French doors leading to the wide York stone terrace running along the entire southern elevation of the house. The terrace is also accessed via the trifold door in the sitting room and French doors in the study.
The seemingly minimalist kitchen designed and built by Bulthaup utilises soft touch drawers and cupboards as well as a roller shutter shelf cover, to ensure the well served and generous space can work as an entertaining hub to the house. We understand that the kitchen has a Gaggenau induction hob embedded in the marble topped central island with an overhead extractor and lighting hood. There are also double Gaggenau ovens, microwave and coffee machine as well as a part glazed double front Sub Zero fridge freezer with built in ice machine and high humidity vegetable drawers amongst others.
On the first floor the spacious and incredibly well appointed principal bedroom suite has a delightful dressing room and immense bath and shower room in addition to the charming bedroom which enjoys an attractive brick fireplace with wood burning stove.
Pool House and two further photos below
Garages, stores and outbuildings To one side of the drive is a timber garage block housing a double and single garage as well as the boiler room and log store. There is a further timber building beyond this, with staddle stones and seemingly a granary that in fact cleverly houses and disguises the oil tanks. At close to the highest point of the land is a timber framed log cabin with clay tile roof and a balcony.
Gardens and grounds In addition to the formal garden with its central lawn, flower beds, herbaceous borders and specimen trees immediately adjacent to the terrace with its fountain, there is a parterre rose garden in the centre of the in-and-out drive, a lowered lawn with lavender border, vegetable garden and orchard, as well as majestically sweeping lawns leading to the delightful lake with hard wood jetty, deck and timber framed boat house beyond which is a wild flower meadow. There is also a walled garden with central decorative pond and fountain approached from the drive via a double lychgate.
