My passion lies in helping communities and their residents visualize the future and give them the tools to make well-informed decisions. My passion is not to plan, it is to develop plans that create results. As a private sector planner, I have led many successful award winning redevelopment projects including the redevelopment of the area around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the City of Whiting s Lake Michigan waterfront redevelopment. I am also active in my professional association and serve on the American Planning Association s Board of Directors. My specific experience includes: Collaborating with clients in moving their plans into implementation through strong and pragmatic visioning, building public/stakeholder support and excitement, bridging financing gaps through assisting with financial planning and leveraging local resources and helping build internal capacity to manage large inter-disciplinary projects. Professional Experience Community Planning & Urban Design Manager 07/2014 to Present Michael Baker International (formerly RBF Consulting) Santa Ana, CA Rebuilding a Community Planning and Urban Design division that had left the marketplace for a threeyear period. This includes re-hiring qualified staff, reorganizing marketing and proposal activities and raising awareness within the marketplace. Developed the market campaign, proposal, relationships and interview strategy to win a $1.45 million urban planning contract for a Southern California county. The plan transitioned into over $15 million in design and construction inspection fees for the company. Secured over $50 million in funding for implementation of the first two phases of the plan. Principal/Project Manager for the award-winning Speed Zone Master Plan a plan for revitalization of the area around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The plan transitioned into over $10 million in design and construction inspection fees for the company. Secured almost $45 million in funding for the implementation of the plan. The project included management of over 90 personnel throughout the course of the project.
