INSTRUCTION MANUAL OF ROTATING EVAPORATOR 1. Purpose: Rotating evaporator is a kind of equipment using rotary receiving flask to enlarge evaporating area, which is placed in the water bath under the reduced pressure, and heating with the rotation of the flask to make the liquid in the bottle spread and evaporate. It is the basic necessary apparatus widely used in the chemical industry, colleges or universities, or lab of scientific research for the purpose of condenser for drying and recycling in case of manufacturing and analyzing experiments. 2. Structural Features: (1). Main components: stainless aluminum, special ABS, high-temperature-tolerant and high quality glass having a good feature and long duration. (2). Main motor rotating: using precise electromotor, electronic speed regulation, and wheel or chain transmission of motor. Enlarging the hole dimension for transmitting motor, so its evaporating pipe is larger 1.5 times than general equipment, with a higher efficiency of evaporation. (3). Lifting components: it takes advantage of the principle of electrical-touched mechanical switch, fast lifting of liquid-pressed assistance advancement falling in a stead speed, and it saves time and labor force, and raises high efficiency. 2
(4). Evaporating pipe: high-quality stainless steel pipe, PTFE integrated materials; the two joints are connected with silicon nut collar of high quality and long duration. It can be washed or replaced regularly according to your requirements. (5). Heating apparatus: using PTFE aluminum pot of ø23x13cm, the outside part is made of special ABS for protection. A closed electrical heater is equipped on the basis of rust-resistance aluminum for steady foundation, it can move according to different evaporating requirements. 3. Caution of usage: (1). Reading the manual thoroughly and carefully before using. (2). Simulated test is recommended for costly solution, so as to confirm whether this unit is applicable. (3). The water temperature of the water base should be displayed in numbers on the LCD and automatically controlled. A thermometer measures the precise temperature. (4). Cut off the electricity before you opening the cover for replacing the protection melting wire. (5). Do not touch the pot in case of heating. (6). Do not use it in fire, explosion, anesthetic gas or such air environment. (7). No anti-virus requirements are demanded in general. 3

Lifting and falling of the main motor: 0-150mm lifting and falling in a high speed automatically. (4). The heating temperature of the water base: normal room temperature, 90, and digital display automatically. (5). Cooler: high-temperature-tolerance and high-quality glass. (6). The numbers in the diagram above refer to the following respectively. 6. Installation: (See the attached diagram of installation above) a). Preparation: Please check the components as the packing list; clean, wash, and dry them; then put them in order as the attached picture: the main motor on the right, the water bath on the left. b). Procedures: First step: a. Insert the convex-styled sealed ring (7) to the tube (8). b. Then insert the tube (8) to the main motor (15). Before inserting, connect (9)(10) tightly, (8)and (9) should be coated with vacuum lipid. c. Put the sealed gasket (11) on the fixed ring (10). d. Screw tightly with condenser (12), then connects them to the main motor (15) on the left. During the operation, you should be careful, excessive force is forbidden. Second step: e. Insert 29-meatus screw to (7)(8), then screw the conical joint clip to fix it. f. Insert the loop screw (6) to 29-meatus screw connector (5), evaporating (4) to (5). Unscrew it counter-clockwise. 7
Third step: g. Connect the Teflon plastic in-flow (14) to the material in-flow valve (2). h. Insert the water-resistance gasket to the Teflon plastic in-flow and adjust the proper position of the Teflon plastic in-flow when inserting the condenser i. Insert the receiving flask (3) to the spherical condenser (1), and fix them with spherical joint clip (16). Fourth step: j. Connect the in-flow and out-flow with plastic tube. 8
7. Operation: (1). Connect the controlling case and an outlet of 110v/50hz with power source wire. (2). Turn on the switch ON, the green light is on; then rotate the speed knob to start the main motor. (3). Press the button with pressure, the main motor moves up, otherwise it moves down. Eliminate the pressure when desired height is reached. (4). After installing glassware, fill the Water Base with water, connect the power supply, initialize the temperature degree, then press the button ON, it will heat automatically. (5). Adjust the angle of the main motor. Unscrew the knob of the lift column on the right, and then rotate the main motor to reach a proper angle. At last, screw it. (6). After the test rotating, turn the power button and heating button to OFF, and unplug the power source. 9
8. Care and maintenance: Before commencing any maintenance operation or replacement of components parts, the unit should be isolated from the electricity supply, water supply, and vacuum line. (1). According to the production requirements, clean them regularly and allow them to dry naturally, and change the sealed ring (For the operation methods, please see the installation introduction). (2). Glassware: if there is serious dirt, please use mild acid liquid to wash them; all glassware should not be exposed to temperature above 80 C and is not dishwasher proof. (3). The main tube: wash them and add vacuum lipid regularly (4). The water in the Water Base should be changed, and the water base should be washed regularly. 10
9. Troubleshooting: Trouble Examine the Causation Remedy (1). No power, switch on but bulb dark. (2). The main motor doesn t rotate. (3). The main motor doesn t move up/down. (4). The water base doesn t heat. (5). The vacuum doesn t move up. (1). Plug is unreliable. (2). Fuse is broken. Same as above. (1). Check it is the same as above (2). Whether the hanging steel under the main motor is unreliable (1). Check the 10A fuse (2). Whether the heating plug is reliable. (1). Check the airproof ring. (2). Check the vacuum pump. (3). Check the connector of the glassware. (1). Insert the plug. (2). Change the fuse. Same as above. (1). Same as above. (2). Screw it tightly. (1). Change the 10A fuse. (2). Insert the heat plug again. (1). Change the airproof ring. (2). Screw the connector or change the vacuum pump. (3) Change the glassware (4). Add vacuum lipid. It is recommended that suitably qualified personnel only undertake any servicing or repair. 10. Storage and Transportation: These rotary evaporators are designed to operate under the following conditions: (1). Ambient temperature range is -10 C to +40 C. (2). Relative humidity not exceeding 90%. (3). For indoor use only. (5). Use in a well ventilated area without erosive gas. During the transportation, it should keep away from damp and humidity place and should be handled carefully. 11. After-sell service and Warranty: When these rotating evaporator are used under normal laboratory conditions, we will replace the main unit that doesn t work or mend the defective components free of charge within one and half year from the production date or a period of one year from the sold date.
