USE, CARE AND INSTALLATION GUIDE Read all instructions before installing and operating this appliance IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE WARNING Installation The installation in this manual is intended for qualified installers, service technicians or persons with similar qualified backgrounds. DO NOT attempt to install this appliance yourself. Injury could result from installing the unit due to lack of appropriate electrical and technical background. Always ensure this range hood is installed as per the requirements noted in AS/NZS 3000:2007 There shall be adequate ventilation of the room when the range hood is used at the same time as appliances burning gas or other fuels (not applicable to appliances that only discharge the air back in to the room; CAUTION: Accessible parts may become hot when used with cooking appliances. There is a risk if cleaning is not carried out in accordance with the instructions Do not flambé under the range hood The air must not be discharged into an existing flue that is used for exhausting fumes from appliances burning gas or other fuels This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. All electrical wiring must be properly installed, insulated and grounded. It is not recommended to use old duct work it should be replaced if necessary to avoid the possibility of a grease fire. Check all joints on duct work to ensure proper connection all joints should be properly taped. Do not attempt to modify this appliance as this could cause injury and will void your warranty Underside surfaces can become hot during use. Do Not Touch. Operations Read all instructions in this manual before operating the appliance. Save these instructions for future reference. Always leave safety grills and filters in place. Without these components, operating blowers could catch on to hair, fingers and loose clothing. NEVER dispose cigarette ashes, ignitable substances or any foreign objects in to the blowers. NEVER leave cooking area unattended. When frying, oil in the pan can easily overheat and catch fire. The risk of selfcombustion is higher when the oil has been used several times. Cleaning The saturation of greasy residue in the blowers and filters may cause increased flammability. Keep unit clean and free of grease and residue build-up at all times to prevent possible fires. Filters must be cleaned periodically and be free from accumulation of cooking residue (see cleaning instruction). Old and worn filters must be replaced immediately. Do not operate blowers when filters are removed. Never disassemble parts to clean without proper instructions. Disassembly is recommended to be performed by qualified personnel only. Call our service centre for removal instructions. SITRO GROUP AUSTRALIA Declines all responsibility in the event of failure to observe the instructions given here for installation, maintenance and suitable use of the product. SITRO GROUP AUSTRALIA further declines all responsibility for injury due to negligence and the warranty of the unit automatically expires due to improper maintenance. 2

Electrical Data IMPORTANT This range hood is fitted with a sealed electrical connection plug that is compatible with the mains power supply for Australia / New Zealand and meets the requirements of Australian Standards. This range hood must be connected to a supply voltage that is equal to that stated on the rating label. If the mains power connection plug or power cord becomes damaged it must be replaced with a complete assembly that is identical to the original, and this must be replaced by an authorised service centre. Always follow the Australian / New Zealand requirements for connection to the mains supply. If in doubt always consult a qualified electrician. INSTALLATION MOUNTING HEIGHTS AND CLEARANCE The minimum distance between the supporting surface for the cooking vessels on the hob and the lowest part of the range hood. When the range hood is located above a gas appliance, this distance shall be at least 120cm. If the instructions for installation for the gas hob specify a greater distance, this has to be taken into account. Minimum mount height above cooking surface should be no lower than 1200mm It is important to install the hood at the proper mounting height. Hoods mounted too low could result in heat damage and fire hazard; while hoods mounted too high will be hard to reach and will lose its performance and efficiency. If available, also refer to range manufacturers height clearance requirements and recommended hood mounting height above range. Maximum ceiling clearance 2700mm at 1200 mm hood mounting height (depending on model used) Minimum duct size: GRHM - Round 200mm diameter GRHL - Round 3 x 150mm diameter All must be flued independently Flexible ducts are provided for convenience, always use rigid type metal ducts if available to maximize airflow. Also use calculation (on right) to compute total available duct run when using elbows, transitions and caps. ALWAYS, when possible, reduce the number or transitions and turns. If a long duct run is required, increase duct size from 6 to 7 or 8. If a reducer is used, install a long reducer instead of a pancake reducer. Reduce duct size as far away from opening as possible. If turns or transitions are required; install as far away from opening and as far apart between the two as possible. min 1200mm 915mm DUCT Run Calculations Maximum run 6 or 3 ¼ x 10 duct Deduct: Each 90 Elbow used Each 45 Elbow used Each 6 or 3/14 x 10 transition used Each 3/14 x 10 transition used Side Wall cap with damper Roof Cap max 2700mm Extension available 100Ft 15FT 9FT 1FT 5FT 30FT 30FT Eg. 1 roof cap, 2x 90 elbows, 1 x 45 elbow used; = 30 +30 + 9 = 69 used, 31 available for straight duct runs. 3

MAINTENANCE CLEANING Surface Maintenance Clean periodically with hot soapy water and a clean cotton cloth. Do not use corrosive or abrasive detergent or steel wool/scouring pads which will scratch and damage the surfaces. For heavier deposits, use a liquid degreaser.
