Ensure the power source meets the requirements listed on the specification label. Do not use the unit with an extension cord. Do not use near gas appliances, open flame, or combustible liquids or gases. Operate, move and store the unit upright at all times. Do not move the unit while there is water in the tank. Do not remove the water tank while the unit is operating. The room temperature where the unit is operated must be within the range of 41-95 F (5-35 C). Disconnect the unit from the power source before cleaning it. Do not use solvent on plastic parts or pour water directly on the unit. Do not use the unit if the power cord or plug becomes damaged. Disconnect the unit from the power source if not in use for a prolonged period of time. For indoor use only. Do not attempt to repair the unit. REV 072013

Close all doors and windows in the room. The unit will be most effective in an enclosed space. 3. Plug the unit into a 120V power source. Note: When using the unit for the first time, run the unit continuously for at least 24 hours. 2

FILTER button The filter light illuminates after 250 hours of operation as a reminder that the filter needs to be cleaned. To reset this function after cleaning the filter, press the FILTER button. 2. CONT. button Press to activate the continuous dehumidifying mode. 3. FAN button Press to select the fan speed between normal and turbo. 4. POWER button Press to turn the unit on and off. 5. TIMER button Press to program auto-on and auto-off times. 6. UP and DOWN buttons Press to raise or lower the set humidity level within the range of 35-85% RH in 5% increments, or use to adjust the timer settings. 7. LED display Displays the set humidity level or timer settings while settings are being adjusted. Displays the ambient humidity level from 30-90% RH with accuracy of ± 5%. 8. FILTER light Indicates that the filter needs to be cleaned. 9. FULL light Indicates that the water tank is full, removed from the unit or incorrectly positioned. 10. CONT. light Indicates that the continuous dehumidifying mode has been activated. 11. ON and OFF lights Indicates that the timer-on and timer-off settings have been activated. 12. TURBO and NORMAL lights Indicates the fan speed. 13. AUTO DEFROST light Indicates that the unit is defrosting. 3

Operating Instructions Timer Operation 1. When the unit is on, press the TIMER button until the timer-off light illuminates. To set the auto- off time, use the UP and DOWN buttons to adjust the timer setting in increments of 0.5 hours up to 10 hours and 1 hour up to 24 hours. To set the auto-on time, press the TIMER button again until the timer-on light illuminates and use the UP and DOWN buttons to adjust the timer setting. Wait 5 seconds to accept the setting. 2. When the unit is off, press the TIMER button until the timer-on light illuminates. To set the auto- on time, use the UP and DOWN buttons to adjust the timer setting in increments of 0.5 hours up to 10 hours and 1 hour up to 24 hours. To set the auto-off time, press the TIMER button again until the timer-off light illuminates and use the UP and DOWN buttons to adjust the timer setting. Wait 5 seconds to accept the setting. Emptying the Water Tank 1. When the water tank is full, the unit beeps eight times, the full light blinks and P2 appears on the display. If the unit is on, the compressor turns off and the fan runs for 30 seconds to dry the condenser. 2. Grip the handles on the tank s sides and slowly pull it out. Do not place the tank on the floor because its uneven bottom may cause it to spill. 3. Empty the tank and carefully replace it in the unit. Continuous Drainage 1. To continuously drain water from the unit, remove the water tank and the cover from the drainage outlet on the back of the unit. 2. Attach the drain hose to the drainage adapter. 3. Insert the other end of the drain hose through the drainage outlet and attach it to the connector at the right front of the unit. Note: Ensure the drain hose fits securely to the connector. 4. Use the provided screws to secure the drainage adapter to the unit. 5. Attach a 5 /16 ID water hose (available separately) to the drainage adapter and place the other end over a drain. 6. Carefully replace the tank in the unit. 7. Remove the drain hose from the outlet and replace the outlet cover when the continuous drainage function is not in use. Auto-Shutoff The unit will turn off 30 seconds after the water tank reaches capacity. The unit will also turn off automatically when the set humidity level is reached. Auto-Defrost When frost builds up on the evaporator coils, the compressor will turn off and the fan will continue to run until the evaporator coils have defrosted. Auto-Restart The Auto Restart feature allows the unit to restart after a power interruption using the previously programmed settings. To protect the unit, the compressor will not restart for 3 minutes after stopping. 4

Storage and Maintenance Cleaning the Air Filter 1. For optimal operation, clean the air filter every two weeks. 2. Slide the air filter out from the top of the unit. 3. Rinse the filter in warm water and allow it to dry completely before replacing it. Cleaning the Unit Clean the unit using a soft cloth dampened with water and mild detergent. Use a vacuum or brush to clean the air intake and outlet grilles. Clean the tank with water and mild detergent every few weeks to prevent the growth of mold, mildew and bacteria. Do not put the tank in the dishwasher. Storage Wait one day after turning off the unit to empty the water tank. Clean the unit, water tank and air filter. Wrap the cord and secure it to the back of the unit. Store the unit upright in a dry, well-ventilated place. Error Codes The following error codes may appear on the unit s display panel. Error Code Cause Solution AS Humidity sensor error Disconnect the unit from the ES Temperature sensor error power source and reconnect it. If the problem persists, the unit may require service. See warranty information. P2 Water tank is full or incorrectly positioned Empty the tank and ensure it is correctly positioned. EC Unit error Ensure the ambient temperature is between 41ºF and 95ºF. If the problem persists, the unit may require service. See warranty information. 5

Utopian Systems 1-Year Limited Warranty Sunleaves Garden Products warrants this product to the original purchaser to be free of defective materials and workmanship under normal use and service for 1 year from the original date of purchase. Sunleaves Garden Products, at its option, will repair or replace components of this product if they are found to be defective in material or workmanship within the warranty period. If Sunleaves, at its sole discretion, determines that the components are defective in material or workmanship, then Sunleaves, at its option, will either repair or replace the components, provided that (1) a copy of the original proof of purchase for this product by the original purchaser is delivered to the place of purchase or Sunleaves Garden Products; (2) the components have not been tampered with, disassembled, repaired by unauthorized persons or altered; and (3) the components have not been damaged as a result of commercial use, lack of reasonable and proper maintenance, abusive or unreasonable use, or supplemental damage. In no event shall the cost of repair or replacement exceed the original purchase price.
