The evening began with our President Azmi Adam s address to the members and supporting organizations, where he spoke eloquently on the previous year s activities and achievements. Page 2 IFE S AGM 2017 Our President Azmi Adam presented a token of appreciation to the long-term, founding member of IFE Singapore, Mr Chan Tai Ho. His unprecedented work to the fire safety community and contribution to IFE Singapore is well recognised and appreciated by IFE. Page 3 IFE S AGM 2017 Upon conclusion of the AGM, the night s dinner and entertainment begun. Members were firstly treated to the hilarious performance by Happy Fei Fei. The One and Only Happy Fei Fei!!! There were also various games and even a magic show performance by the very own and encouraging emcee himself. The entire crowd enjoyed the performance and sumptuous dinner. This was followed by a performance by singer Yati Divalicious and further games before the night concluded. Page 6 FSSD CIRCULARS The following circulars were received from SCDF: Ref: CD/FSSD/12/02/03/01 Date : 6 February 2017 FIRE SAFETY GUIDELINES (2017) FOR CERTIFICATION OF REGULATED FIRE SAFETY PRODUCTS / MATERIALS 1. The fire safety guidelines are issued to align with the recent changes made to the ISO/IEC 17065 (Conformity assessment Requirements for bodies certifying products, processes and services) accreditation requirements and to address feedback received from industry stakeholders. 2. The list of regulated fire safety products/materials, its required test standards and surveillance regime are available in SCDF website at http//:www.scdf.gov.sg. 3. With effect from 6 February 2017, all Certification Bodies (CB)s shall comply with the latest fire safety guidelines. 4. Ref: CD/FSSD/12/02/03/01 Date : 13 February 2017 SEEKING PUBLIC CONSULTATION ON CHANGES TO THE STANDARD FOR FIRE SAFETY IN RAPID TRANSIT SYSTEMS 2012 EDITION 1. The design of fire safety measures in rapid transit systems (e.g. MRT stations and tunnels) is currently governed by the Standard for Fire Safety in Rapid Transit Systems (SFSRTS) 2012 Edition. 2. The Standard is regularly reviewed by the SFSRTS Review Committee, which is chaired by the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) with represntitives from Land Transport Authority, Singapore Institute of Architects, Institution of Engineers, Singapore and Association of Consulting Engineers, Singapore, to improve its clarity and keep pace with the latest developments. 3. A revised edition of the standard is scheduled for publication this year and is available in SCDF website at http//:www.scdf.gov.sg. SCDF would like to invite feedback on these changes.
