Induction furnaces, blast furnaces The LIOS PRE.VENT temperature monitoring system, with its fibre optic sensor, can be used in areas in which conventional temperature sensors (e.g. thermocouples such as Pt100) cannot be used due to the specific circumstances (i.e. electromagnetic fields), new areas of applications are opened up. One example is temperature measurement in induction furnaces and blast furnaces. Here, the system is used to measure the thickness of the insulation layers for process optimisation in the furnace. The precise pinpointing of hotspots suggests potential locations of damage in a very early stage. The furnace can therefore be operated much more safely and cost efficient. This allows maintenance and repair work to be controlled and planned. Downtimes are reduced, while the efficiency of the system is significantly increased.
Pipelines and storage tanks LIOS PRE.VENT is a system that allows you to monitor a distance up to 140 km with only one measuring device, with high precision and no gaps. Leakage (due to temperature differences) as well as sabotage and earth movements (due to mechanical change transferred to the fibre) can be pinpointed to the meter in a very short amount of time. Potential material and environmental damage can thus be reduced, while the safety, operational life and efficiency of the pipelines and tanks are significantly increased. The measured values are updated (depending on the desired temperature resolution) after just a few seconds. You therefore obtain a highly precise temperature profile of the area. System monitoring and process optimisation The LIOS PRE.VENT DTS is a linear temperature sensor that enables you to record and analyse thousands of measuring points simultaneously, send alarms if necessary or control your system. With special low or high-temperature fibres (depending on the application), the entire area of your asset is monitored by fibre optic sensor cables. The highly flexible installation of the sensor cable can be adapted to different geometric shapes, and can therefore be implemented optimally for the specific circumstances on site. The coating of the glass fibre is tailored to the specific requirements on site. A thin-walled but very sturdy stainless steel tube offers suitable protection for industrial applications. Special coatings such as silicon or alloys are also possible by customer request. The DTS unit can record an entire measuring section of several kilometres with a sampling interval of just a few centimetres.
