1. STANDARD INTERCOM UNIT Each dwelling on your scheme will be fitted with an Advent xt intercom unit; there may also be others in communal areas, corridors and toilets. The intercom unit ORANGE cord or associated ORANGE ceiling pullcords located in bedrooms, bathrooms, etc. can be used to make an emergency alarm call. When operating in onsite mode all calls are reported on cordless handsets or desktop telephones. If there is no onsite manager then calls can be reported via local offsite mode to a mobile warden using a standard mobile telephone, or via remote offsite mode to a 24 hour control centre. The Advent xt intercom unit has the following features; PRIVACY BUTTON I M OK BUTTON FLASHING GREEN = I M OK PLAY MESSAGE BUTTON TEST MODE BUTTON STEADY AMBER = PRIVACY ON FLASHING AMBER = AWAY MODE STEADY WHITE = TEST MODE ALARM BUTTON A pictorial user guide is also available; request Tynetec Doc No. FM0729 FLASHING BLUE = MESSAGE WAITING DIM RED = NORMAL STEADY RED = ALARM CALL FLASHING RED = EXTRACARE MODE PRIVACY BUTTON Press the button to toggle privacy on/off, when privacy is ON the indicator lamp will illuminate AMBER and the microphone in the intercom is turned off you will not be able to hear the resident. Press and hold the button to select away mode, when away mode is enabled a series of tones will sound and the indicator lamp will be FLASHING AMBER. I m OK and activity monitoring will be disabled. See Section 30 for details. I M OK BUTTON If the indicator light is FLASHING GREEN and 2 tones sound every 20 seconds (note: beeps can be turned on/off globally) the resident can press the button to declare themselves OK. See Section 29 for details. ALARM BUTTON & PULLCORD Press the button or pull the ORANGE alarm pullcord on the intercom, or any ORANGE ceiling pullcord or the press the personal pendant to initiate an emergency call. Note; an alarm call will automatically override privacy mode for about 15 minutes. INDICATOR LIGHT The indicator light will illuminate STEADY RED when an alarm call is made, the light will go dim/out when the call is answered. If the light is FLASHING RED the intercom is awaiting Extracare call cancellation see Section 22 for details. PLAY MESSAGE BUTTON If the indicator light is FLASHING BLUE and a series of tones sound every 60 seconds then there s a message waiting. The message can be played by pressing the button. See Section 32 for details. TEST MODE BUTTON The test mode can be used to check the operation of ceiling pullcords, personal pendants, PIR s etc. without activating an emergency call on the system. 2. COMBINED INTERCOM UNIT Your scheme may be fitted with combined warden call & door entry intercom units. These have all the same functions as standard intercoms plus 2 additional buttons for door entry functions (instead of a separate door entry telephone). OPTIONAL REMOTE CONTROL PRIVACY BUTTON STEADY GREEN = LOCK RELEASED FLASHING GREEN = DOOR OPEN FLASHING WHITE = REMOTE CONTROL BATTERY LOW FLASHING AMBER = SPEAK MODE STEADY AMBER = LISTEN MODE DOOR OPEN BUTTON TALK BUTTON A pictorial user guide is also available; request Tynetec Doc No. FM0730 TALK BUTTON When the intercom is called from the door entry system a ring tone will sound. Press and hold the talk button to answer the call, the indicator light will be FLASHING AMBER during speech to the door. Release the talk button to listen, the indicator light will be STEADY AMBER during listen mode. DOOR OPEN BUTTON To allow the visitor in press the open button, the indicator will light STEADY GREEN for 5 seconds. If the indicator light is FLASHING GREEN the door has been left open. PRIVACY BUTTON During a door entry call the privacy button can be pressed to end the call without letting the visitor in. OPTIONAL REMOTE CONTROL During a door entry call the remote control TALK/OPEN/PRIVACY buttons operate as described above. With no door entry call in progress the TALK button can be used to acknowledge I m OK or play a Message Waiting. With no door entry call in progress the PRIVACY button will toggle privacy mode on/off. Note: changing the privacy mode also acknowledges I m OK as it is seen as resident activity. REMOTE CONTROL LOW BATTERY WARNING If the battery in the remote control is running low the light below the button will be FLASHING WHITE. Replace the battery and press any button on the remote control to clear the flashing white light. All other buttons and features are the same as the standard intercom on the previous page. 3. CORDLESS & DESKTOP TELEPHONES All cordless handsets and/or fixed desktop telephones will ring when a call exists in onsite mode. To answer a call using a cordless handset press the TALK key, if using a desk telephone simply lift the handset. When answered a speech message will identify the call type and flat number, the residents name may also be displayed if it has been programmed into the telephone name/number memory. When the alarm message is understood press the key to open two way speech with the caller. During speech the resident s VOLUME can be increased with the 1 key or decreased with 2 key. See the table below for other features available on the telephone keys during a call. To end the call using a cordless handset press the # key followed by the END key to hang up, if using a desk telephone press the # key and replace the handset. If using a desktop telephone simply LIFT/REPLACE the handset instead of pressing the TALK and END keys. For detailed information on handset features see the manufacturer s instruction booklet. 4. ANSWERING A CALL The telephone will ring when a call exists. If there are multiple handsets, the first person to answer will get the call, all other phones will stop ringing. An alarm message in the earpiece will announce the caller before you speak to them. ANSWERING A CALL: Ring Ring 1. When the handset rings press the TALK key 2. Listen to the alarm message in the earpiece 3. Press the key after the message to open speech 4. Speak to the resident, stop speaking to listen 5. Press the # key to end the call NORMAL CALL TYPES: An alarm call initiated by a resident will normally be from the intercom unit, a ceiling pullcord or a personal pendant. The following messages will be heard; intercom alarm flat 1 intercom alarm flat 1 if the call was made from the intercom unit in flat 1 pullcord alarm flat 1 if the call was made from a ceiling pullcord in flat 1 pendant alarm flat 1 if the call was made from a personal pendant allocated to flat 1 AUTOMATIC CALL TYPES: An alarm call triggered automatically may be from a smoke detector, a PIR movement detector or another environmental device. The Advent xt monitors itself for faults and these are also reported, see examples below; smoke alarm flat 1 smoke alarm flat 1 the smoke alarm has detected a fire in flat 1 intruder alarm flat 1 the PIR has detected an intruder in flat 1 fault alarm flat 1 there s a fault with the intercom in flat 1 open circuit alarm flat 1 there s a wiring fault on a ceiling pullcord in flat 1 system mains fail the system mains supply has failed system battery low the system battery standby is running low system mains restored the mains supply is restored system BT line fault there s a fault with the telephone line system BT line restored the telephone line is restored system fuse blown the system has blown a fuse The RED FAULTS EXIST light will be illuminated on the Status Module as a reminder that a problem requires attention. The faults can be listed by entering a special code via the cordless handset, see Section 13 of this manual. If you get a System Fuse Blown message none of the intercom units will be able to make an emergency call. Contact your Service Engineer immediately. Doc No. FM0805 issue A Page 6

5. CALLING A RESIDENT You can call a resident any time by dialling their flat number on the cordless handset. To call any other intercoms in the common room, corridors, etc. use the same procedure but enter the actual intercom number. CALLING A RESIDENT: ) ) ) ) ) ) ) 3. Enter the flat number of the resident you wish to contact 4. Press the key to send a call tone and open speech Press the 0 key to re sound the call tone if required 5. Speak to the resident, stop speaking to listen 6. Press the # key to end the call 7. Press the END key to clear the connection 6. SEQUENTIAL DAILY CALLS Routine daily calls to all residents can be greatly simplified by using the INDEX function. You can start sequential calls from any flat number. USING THE INDEX FUNCTION: 1. Call and speak to the first resident in the normal way 2. Press the 6 key to end the call 3. A message will announce the next flat number 4. Press the key to speak or the 6 key to skip Press the 0 key to re sound the call tone if required 5. Repeat as above through all flat numbers 6. Press the # key to end sequential calls 7. Press the END key to clear the connection 7. CALL WAITING If you hear a short beep every 5 seconds in the telephone earpiece this means there is another call waiting. ANSWERING A CALL WAITING: Beep. 1. On hearing the intermittent beep conclude your conversation as quickly as possible 2. Press the # key once to end the call 3. A message will announce the call waiting 4. Press the key to answer the call in the normal way or press the # key a second time to check if more than one call is waiting 5. The message will change with each press of the # key for all calls waiting 6. The calls waiting can be answered in any order by pressing the key after the message 7. When all calls have been answered press the # key followed by END key to clear the connection 8. USING THE PA FUNCTION The Advent xt system has an optional PA facility to allow public announcements to be made through all intercoms. To use the PA function you must enter a special code on the cordless handset. USING THE PA FUNCTION: 3. Enter the code 1000 followed by the key 4. Make your public announcement 5. Press the # key to end your announcement Do not operate PA mode directly in front of an intercom unit otherwise feedback may occur. Doc No. FM0805 issue A Page 7

9. USING THE FIRE ALARM FUNCTION The Advent xt system has an optional fire alarm facility which can sound a fire tone through all intercoms on the scheme. The fire alarm tone can be started manually from the cordless handset or it may start automatically when the main building fire alarm is activated. The fire tone is an intermittent warble tone and is different to all other tones the warden call system normally uses. ACTIVATING THE FIRE TONE MANUALLY: 3. Enter the code 1003 followed by the key 4. The fire alarm tone will sound through ALL Intercoms 5. Press the # key to stop the fire alarm tone If the fire alarm system activates you will receive a call on the cordless handset, if the Advent xt is operating in local or remote offsite mode the call will be dialled out. ANSWERING AN AUTOMATIC FIRE CALL: 1. Press the TALK key 2. A Fire Alarm message will repeat in the earpiece 3. Press the key to accept 4. Press the # key to cancel the call When the fire alarm call is cancelled the fire tone will start to sound through all intercoms this will continue until the buildings fire alarm panel is reset. Note; the fire tone is optional and may not be enabled. If you want to use the Advent xt system before the fire alarm panel is reset you can stop the fire tone by pressing the TALK key followed by the 5 key on the cordless handset. Press the END key to clear the connection. The main entrance door will normally be opened via an electric lock release when the fire alarm activates. The door will remain un locked until the fire alarm panel is reset. Doc No. FM0805 issue A Page 8

10. SELECTING THE OPERATING MODE The Advent xt warden call system can report calls in three different ways; 1. ONSITE MODE to an onsite carer via a cordless handset 2. LOCAL OFFSITE MODE to a mobile carer via a mobile telephone 3. REMOTE OFFSITE MODE to 24 hour control centre via the telephone line The operating mode is selected via a keyswitch on the Status Module, by entering special codes on the cordless handset or from the optional Manager s Panel. MODE SELECTION USING THE STATUS MODULE: The Status Module is usually wall mounted in the Managers office. The time & date of all system events can be recorded on an optional printer. MODE SELECTION USING THE CORDLESS HANDSET: Onsite Mode 3. Enter the code 1004 followed by the key 4. The current operating mode will be announced 5. Wait for the Ready prompt in the earpiece 6. Press the END key to maintain the current operating mode or Enter one of the following codes to select a new operating mode; 1005 for Onsite Mode, 1006 for Local Offsite Mode or 1007 for Remote Offsite Mode 7. Press the key and the new operating mode will be announced 8. Press the END key to clear the connection MODE SELECTION USING THE MANAGER S PANEL: 1. Turn the keyswitch to select the desired operating mode. 2. Check the relevant YELLOW OPERATING MODE light is lit. 3. Remove the key from the switch. The operating mode cannot be changed when the GREEN CALL IN PROGRESS light is lit. Wait until the call has ended before turning the key. The RED FAULTS EXIST light will be lit if faults are stored in the system memory. See section 13 for how to check the fault memory. Optional Printer 1. Touch the System Panel tab along the top of the screen 2. The current operating mode will be GREEN 3. Touch the required operating mode button on the screen 4. You will be prompted for a Password to change the operating mode 5. Enter the Password (default: 1234) then touch the Logon button 6. The new operating mode will be GREEN If the system is operating in onsite mode and an alarm call remains un answered for a preset time (6 minutes) the call will automatically switch to local offsite mode and report the call to a mobile warden. If the call still goes un answered then remote offsite mode will be selected and the call will go to a 24 hour control centre. It is not possible to select local offsite or remote offsite mode if a telephone line fault exists. If the system is operating in either of these modes when a telephone line fault develops then the system will report calls to the onsite manager. Calls will go back to the selected offsite mode as soon as the fault clears. A telephone line fault is reported on the cordless handset, the Status Module and a BT line fault beacon (if fitted). 11. USING THE CALLS REDIRECT FUNCTION Calls from individual flats can be set to always report via a preset operating mode i.e. onsite, local offsite telephone number 1 to 6 or remote offsite telephone number 7 to 9. If the call remains un answered in the preset operating mode then it will automatically revert to the normal dial out sequence. REDIRECTING A CALL: 3. Enter the code 6003 followed by the key 4. Enter the flat number to redirect followed by the key 5. A message will announce the current redirect mode Enter # to disable redirect mode Enter 0 to set onsite mode Enter 1 to 6 to set local offsite telephone number 1 to 6 Enter 7 to 9 to set remote offsite telephone number 7 to 9 6. The new redirect mode will be announced 7. Press the END key to clear the connection LIST FLATS WITH REDIRECTED CALLS: 3. Enter the code 6004 followed by the key 4. A list of all flats with calls redirected will be heard in the earpiece CLEAR ALL REDIRECTED CALLS: 3. Enter the code 6008 followed by the key 4. All redirected calls will be cleared 12. PARKING AN ALARM CALL Calls can be PARKED if they are constantly re reporting due to a fault condition. If a system malfunction is causing multiple constant calls then they can all be parked simultaneously using a special code. PARKING A CONSTANT CALL: 1. Press the TALK key With V3.00D Firmware (Feb 2014) onwards 2. Listen to the alarm message in the earpiece there s an option to set Double Park 3. Press the key to answer the call characters i.e. 55. Park characters can also be set as 8 or 88 and 9 or 99. 4. Press the 5 key to PARK the call PARKING ALL CONSTANT CALLS: 1. Press the TALK key 2. Listen to the first alarm message in the earpiece 3. Press 5 4. Press the END key to clear the connection NOTE Calls can be parked using the above methods in onsite or local offsite mode. When calls are parked the RED FAULTS EXIST light will illuminate on the Status Module. These calls will not report again until they are removed from the fault memory see Section 13. 13. FAULT MEMORY The Advent xt system can store a number of faults in memory and still allow the remainder of the system to operate as normal until the faults are cleared. If the RED FAULTS EXIST light is lit on the Status Module this means one or more faults are stored in memory. LIST THE FAULT MEMORY: 3. Enter the code 1008 followed by the key CLEAR A FAULT FROM MEMORY: 3. Enter the faulty intercom number followed by the key 4. Press the # key to end 6. If the fault re reports, answer as normal, press the 5 key and the fault will be parked again. To clear a fault memory the problem must first be rectified then the associated intercom unit must be called back. If the fault has been fixed it will be cleared from the memory, if it still exists it will re reported again. Any system faults stored in memory e.g. mains fail, will be removed automatically when the fault clears. 14. CALL MEMORY The Advent xt system stores the last 8 calls in memory. These can be listed by entering a special code on the telephone handset and listening to the messages in the earpiece. LIST THE CALL MEMORY: 3. Enter the code 1009 followed by the key 4. 15. SETTING THE SYSTEM TIME & DATE The Advent xt system has a real time clock with automatic British Summer Time (auto BST) adjustment. The clock is used for activity monitoring mode and recording the time and date of all events on the optional printer. SETTING THE SYSTEM TIME: 3. Enter the code 2000 followed by the key 4. A message will announce the time (24 hour format) 5. If the time is correct press the # key to accept followed by the END key to exit the mode 6. If the time is incorrect; enter the new time (HHMM) in 24 hour format e.g. 1300 = 1PM followed by the key, then press # followed by the END key to exit the mode. SETTING THE SYSTEM DATE: 3. Enter the code 2001 followed by the key 4. A message will announce the date 5. If the date is correct press the # key to accept followed by the END key to exit the mode 6. SETTING THE DAILY ALARM TIME The Advent xt system can be set to send an automatic test call at the same time every day. This feature can be used to check the integrity of the telephone line on systems that are permanently operating in local offsite or remote offsite mode. SETTING A DAILY ALARM TIME: 3. Enter the code 4006 followed by the key 4. A message will announce the current daily alarm time 5. If the setting is OK, press the END key or, enter a new alarm time (HHMM 24 hour format) or, press the # key to disable the alarm time 6. Press the key to confirm 7. 17. USING THE LOCAL OFFSITE MODE The Advent xt system may have a local offsite facility to divert calls to a mobile warden. Answering a call in local offsite mode is identical to onsite mode except site identification is included in the message. The procedure for cancelling a local offsite call differs slightly from the onsite mode procedure. Local offsite mode can be enabled/disabled using a special code from the telephone. If disabled all alarm calls will be reported in onsite or remote offsite mode only, mobile numbers will not be dialled. ANSWERING A LOCAL OFFSITE CALL: ) ) ) ) ) ) ) 1. Press the LINE key 2. SETTING THE OFFSITE DIAL SEQUENCE Up to 6 local offsite and 3 remote offsite telephone numbers can be programmed into the Advent xt system, the order in which they are dialled can be changed by entering a special code via the CORDLESS handset. You can speak with visitors at the door and allow access by releasing an electric door lock. RELEASING THE MAIN ENTRANCE DOOR LOCK: 1. Answer the call in the normal way 2. Press the 3 key once 3. RELEASING THE KEYSAFE The Advent xt system may be fitted with an intercom unit alongside an electric keysafe with the facility to open the safe. RELEASING THE KEYSAFE: 1. RELEASING A FLAT DOOR LOCK Individual flats may be fitted with an electric lock release with the facility to allow access when a speech link is established via their intercom unit. RELEASING A FLAT DOOR LOCK: 1. Answer the call in the normal way 2. Press the 3 key once 3. The lock will release for a preset time (10 seconds) 4. 22. USING THE EXTRACARE FUNCTION Extracare intercom units are available for categories of schemes where alarm calls must be cancelled at the source. Both normal and Extracare intercoms can be mixed to maximise operational efficiency whilst ensuring care level compliance. When a call is made from an Extracare intercom it is reported and answered in the normal way but it cannot be permanently cleared until it has been visited and cancelled locally. The Extracare option is available on standard and combined intercoms. If normal cancellation is attempted the call will simply re report after a preset delay (typically 5 minutes). CANCELLING AN EXTRACARE CALL: 1. The indicator light will FLASH RED on an Extracare intercom awaiting cancellation. 2. Pass the magnetic RESET FOB down the right hand side of the intercom to be cancelled. 3. The intercom will emit several short beeps and the red light will go out/dim when the call is cancelled. Image shows a standard intercom the same cancellation procedure applies to combined intercoms. IMPORTANT: a procedure must be put in place for the cancellation of Extracare intercoms when the system is operating in Local Offsite or Remote Offsite modes. Doc No. FM0805 issue A Page 16

23. USING THE GLOBAL ACTIVITY MONITORING FUNCTION The Advent xt system may be fitted with PIR movement detectors in each flat to monitor the residents activity. Three time periods can be programmed to operate on a daily basis. The flat numbers with NO ACTIVITY will be reported at the end of each period. Global Activity settings apply to ALL flats on the scheme. Local Activity settings apply to specific flats see Section 26. The activity monitoring feature can be temporarily disabled by selecting Away Mode see Section 30. SETTING THE GLOBAL ACTIVITY START TIME: START 3. 25. USING THE LOCAL ACTIVITY MONITORING FUNCTION Up to 3 local activity monitoring periods can be set on a per flat basis, local inactivity is reported the same as the global activity. Local activity monitoring times can have an interval assigned to them which will split the time into smaller inactivity reporting periods. The interval is programmable on a per flat basis from 0 to 999 minutes (0 = disabled). If during an active monitoring time period an interval elapses where there has been no resident activity then an inactivity alarm will be signalled for that resident. This will be repeated for each interval within an active monitoring time period. SETTING THE LOCAL ACTIVITY START TIME: START 3. Enter the code 9000 or 9002 or 9004 (period 1/2/3) followed by the key 4. Enter the flat number followed by the key 5. A message will announce the current start time 6. Enter the code 3004 via the CORDLESS handset to reset the activity monitor display on the Manager s Panel, all flat number indicators will go RED. Over a period of time the flat number indicators will go GREEN as activity is detected, the indicators that remain RED identify flats with no activity. Re enter the 3004 code at any time to reset the display to all RED. DISABLE TIMED ACTIVITY MODE/RESET ACTIVITY MONITOR DISPLAY: 3. Enter the code 3004 followed by the key 4. Press the END key to clear the connection ENABLE TIMED ACTIVITY MODE: 3. Enter the code 3005 followed by the key 4. Press the END key to clear the connection When you Enable Timed Activity Mode inactivity will be reported on the cordless handset again, note the Manager s Panel display will also reset at the beginning of each global activity monitoring period. 27. USING THE INTRUDER FUNCTION Individual flats can have the activity monitoring mode changed to an intruder alarm mode if they are going to be vacant for a prolonged period. Note: intruder mode is automatically enabled when an intercom is set to Away Mode see Section 30. Any movement detected in the flat via the PIR detector will report an intruder alarm call rather than simply logging the activity. Three special codes can be entered via the cordless handset to select intruder mode related functions. SET INTRUDER MODE: 3. Enter the code 3007 followed by the key 4. USING THE CLIENT WANDERING FUNCTION The Advent xt system can be used with a radio door contact (Tynetec P/No. ZXT434) to monitor if a resident leaves their flat during a preset time period each day. The start and stop times can be set on an individual flat basis. If a resident leaves their flat during the set period a client wandering alarm will be reported. SETTING THE WANDERING START TIME: START 3. Enter the code 6000 followed by the key 4. Enter the flat number followed by the key 5. A message will announce the current start time 6. USING THE I M OK FUNCTION The Advent xt system can be set to flash the green light and sound a double beep every 20 seconds on the residents intercom unit during a preset time period each morning ( audible alert can be disabled). If the resident is up and about and feeling OK they can press the button on their intercom to stop the alert and clear their flat number from a list in the Advent xt memory. The flat numbers of the residents that HAVE NOT registered themselves OK can be checked at any time by entering a special code on the telephone handset and listening to the list in the earpiece. Another code can be entered to automatically call those who have not responded each day. The I m OK feature can be temporarily disabled by selecting Away Mode see Section 30. USING THE AWAY MODE FUNCTION If activity monitoring or I m OK mode is being used and the resident is going away for a day or more they should select Away Mode on their intercom to prevent inactivity calls being signalled each day. Press and hold the button to select away mode, when away mode is enabled a series of tones will sound and the indicator lamp will be FLASHING AMBER. I m OK and activity monitoring is now disabled. After a 5 minute exit time intruder mode will automatically be enabled. The flat numbers of the residents that have away mode enabled can be checked at any time by entering a special code on the telephone handset and listening to the list in the earpiece. When the resident returns home the away mode must be turned off to allow the activity monitoring and I m OK features to operate as normal again. Press the button once to turn away mode off, a series of tones will sound and the amber indicator lamp will stop flashing. If a resident fails to turn Away Mode back off when they return home an intruder alarm call will be signalled after a 5 minute entry time. AWAY MODE ENABLED REPORT: 3. Enter the code 5005 followed by the key 4. All flats with away mode enabled will be heard in the earpiece Door entry privacy mode is also enabled during away mode on combined warden call and door entry intercoms. 31. ADDING & REMOVING RADIO TRIGGERS Personal pendants or any other Telecare radio devices can be allocated to flats by entering a special code on the cordless handset. Enter the flat number followed by the key 5. Activate the Pendant (or Altec Device) to be added 6. When prompted enter the 2 digit Location Code from the table below followed by the key 7. Press the END key to clear the connection If a radio device needs to be removed from its current flat so it can be allocated to another, follow the procedure below; REMOVING A RADIO TRIGGER: 3. Enter the code 5001 followed by the key 4. Enter the flat number followed by the key 5. Activate the Pendant (or Altec Device) to be removed 6. Wait for the Pendant Disabled Enter Flat prompt 7. Press the END key to clear the connection If a radio device is not available to remove (i.e. it has been lost or become faulty), then ALL devices in that flat must be deleted, follow the procedure below. 32. USING THE MESSAGE SERVICE The Advent xt has the facility to leave a recorded message for any resident when they return to their flat. A message is recorded by entering a special code on the cordless handset followed by the flat number. The light on the residents intercom will FLASH BLUE and series of tones will sound every 60 seconds when there is a message waiting. The resident can play the message by pressing the button on their intercom. The message can be repeated for up to 1 minute following its first playback before it is automatically deleted. The blue flashing light will go out when the message is played the first time. RECORDING A MESSAGE: 3. Enter the code 7000 followed by the key 4. Enter the flat number followed by the key 5. Leave a short message after the prompt (max 10 seconds) 6. Press the # key and wait for the Ready prompt 7. Press the END key to clear the connection LIST UNANSWERED MESSAGES: 3. Enter the code 7001 followed by the key 4. All flats with unanswered messages will be heard in the earpiece 5. Wait for the Ready prompt in the earpiece DELETING A MESSAGE: 3. Enter the code 7002 followed by the key 4. Enter the flat number to be cleared followed by the key 5. Wait for the Ready prompt in the earpiece DELETING ALL MESSAGES: 3. Enter the code 7003 followed by the key 4. Wait for the Ready prompt in the earpiece Messages are stored until accepted at the intercom or deleted using the codes via the cordless handset. 33. SETTING DOOR ENTRY CALL TRANSFERS The Advent xt system may be fitted digital door entry panels to allow visitors to call residents direct from outside the building. Once called the resident can allow access by pressing the button on their door entry telephone. With no call and the telephone on hook the same button is used to select privacy mode. A user guide is provided with each telephone. If a resident is away, or you do not want them to receive calls from the door entry system, their calls can be transferred to a neighbour or the Managers telephone. ENABLE DOOR ENTRY TRANSFERS: 3. Enter the code 8000 followed by the key 4. Enter the flat number to be transferred followed by the key 5. Enter the flat number the call is being transferred to followed by the key DISABLE DOOR ENTRY TRANSFERS: 3. Enter the code 8001 followed by the key 4. SETTING TIMED DOOR ENTRY CALLS The Advent xt door entry system can be set up to operate in 1 of 3 modes; 1. allow calls from door entry panels to all flats 24 hours a day 2. disable all calls during the evening/night (time period programmable by Engineer only) 3. disable calls during evening/night but allow exclusions (user programmable) If a call is made from a door entry panel to flat number which has calls disabled the visitor will automatically be transferred to the Manager. If option 3 is set use the codes below to allow door entry calls to specific flats 24 hours a day; ENABLE 24 HOUR DOOR ENTRY CALLS: 3. Enter the code 8004 followed by the key 4. Enter the flat number to have 24 hour door entry calls enabled followed by the key DISABLE 24 HOUR DOOR ENTRY CALLS: 3. Enter the code 8005 followed by the key 4. Enter the flat number to have 24 hour door entry calls disabled followed by the key LIST FLATS WITH 24 HOUR DOOR ENTRY CALLS: 3. Enter the code 8006 followed by the key 4. 35. CHECKING TELEPHONES FOR PRIVACY/FAULT When a door entry telephone has privacy mode selected (telephone light lit RED) the resident will not receive any door entry calls. You can check which telephones have privacy on or if any faults exist by entering special codes on the cordless handset. LIST TELEPHONES IN PRIVACY MODE: LIST TELEPHONES WITH A FAULT: 3. Enter the code 8008 followed by the key 4. All flats with telephones in privacy mode will be heard in the earpiece 5. Wait for the Ready prompt in the earpiece 3. Enter the code 8009 followed by the key 4. All flats with faulty telephones will be heard in the earpiece 5. Wait for the Ready prompt in the earpiece RED light ON means privacy mode is selected A telephone with a fault will not receive door entry calls call your Service Engineer. 36. CHECKING INTERCOMS FOR PRIVACY When an intercom is called with privacy mode selected (intercom light is lit STEADY AMBER) the resident can hear your voice but you cannot hear them. You can check which intercoms have privacy mode selected by entering a special code on the cordless handset; STEADY AMBER light ON means privacy mode is selected LIST INTERCOMS IN PRIVACY MODE: 3. Enter the code 5003 followed by the key 4. All flats with intercoms in privacy mode will be heard in the earpiece 5. Wait for the Ready prompt in the earpiece 37. CHECKING CONTROLLER FIRMWARE VERSIONS The Advent xt controller firmware versions can be checked using the cordless handset. CHECKING THE FIRMWARE VERSIONS: 3. Enter the code 4009 followed by the key 4. Three firmware versions will be announced and logged on the system printer. 5. Wait for the Ready prompt in the earpiece Depending on the firmware versions not all the features described in this manual may be available. 38. DATA BACK UP/RESTORE FUNCTION All system configuration and radio device data is automatically saved to a removable memory card. In the unlikely event of complete system failure the card can be swapped to a new controller and the original settings can be quickly restored. SYSTEM DATA BACK UP: 3. 39. ZONED NETWORK RECEIVER RSSI PRINT OUT ENABLE/DISABLE The zoned network receiver RSSI values can be printed for every radio device activation. This is an Engineers function for use during installation of zoned radio pendants and should be turned off to save paper when range testing is complete. RSSI PRINT OUT ENABLE/DISABLE: RP 0096 3. Enter the code 7004 followed by the key 4. Radio device RSSI print out enabled/disabled will be heard in the earpiece 5. Press the # key to toggle between enabled/disabled the new mode will be heard in the earpiece Any zoned network receivers that have had their RSSI value changed using the 1060 telephone code will be identified on the print out by a * in front of the received power level e.g. RP *064 ZONE 02 40. ZONED NETWORK RECEIVER SIGNAL STRENGTH SET UP Network receivers can have their signal strength reduced if radio pendants are being picked up with similar power in neighbouring zones thereby giving inaccurate call location. This is an Engineers function for use during installation and testing only. ATTENUATE ZONED NETWORK RECEIVER SIGNAL STRENGTH: 3. Enter the code 1060 followed by the key 4. Enter the zone number to have its RSSI value attenuated followed by the key 5. A message will announce the current attenuation value (zero = no attenuation) 6. If the setting is OK press the END key or enter a new attenuation value 7. Press the key to confirm and a message will announce the new attenuation value 8.
