General Show Rules 1. Exhibition is open to all daylily growers. Horticultural entries must have been grown, groomed, and entered by exhibitor(s). Entries may not be entered by anyone not at the same physical address as the owner/grower of the daylily. (Exhibitors may not ask anyone to enter their flowers for them.) Entries are limited to 20 scapes. 2. Only AHS members are eligible to win AHS Rosettes and other society sponsored awards. However, they may be new members who join at the show. 3. All on-scape entries will be received (checked by Classification Committee) between the hours of 7:00 AM and 10:45 AM in Room C-D at Franklin Park Conservatory. Access to the Conservatory is through the North side door beside the Hot Shop and through the Employees Entrance door. Late entries, arriving after 10:45 AM (acknowledged by Classifications) may be entered FOR DISPLAY ONLY and will not be judged. Entries will not be placed in the display area after 11:00 AM. 4. Off-scape entries will be received up to the opening of the show at noon. 5. No entry may be removed before 5:00 PM, and exhibits not removed by 5:30 PM will be discarded. Ribbons and other awards, if not claimed at this time, will be made available at a later date upon request. 6. Uniform containers and official AHS entry tags will be furnished by the Metropolitan Columbus Daylily Society. 7. Only members of the Placement Committee are permitted to place entries in the display area. 8. All Judging will begin promptly at 11:00 AM. Only Judges, Clerks, General Show Chair, Judges Chair, Classification Chair, and the Photographer will be allowed in the exhibition area during judging. 9. Show officials and the Metropolitan Columbus Daylily Society will exercise all precaution for protecting exhibits, but neither they nor Franklin Park Conservatory will be responsible for any loss or damage that may occur. Horticulture Rules 1. All horticulture exhibits eligible for AHS rosettes and medals must be entered on-scape. 2. The Committee recommends that all registered cultivars are to be entered on scapes not exceeding 36 inches. However, the exhibitor may choose to enter a taller scape proportionate to its branching or bloom size. All exhibits must be balanced and stable in the container to prevent damage to other entries. 3. All seedlings (including pre-registered cultivars) shall be severed as close to the base as possible, regardless of height. If the height of the seedling makes transport difficult, if not impossible, the exhibitor may trim the excess scape height, preserving the cut portion of the scape. The cut portion of the scape must then be placed longside the base of the container holding the entry. 4. A seedling having won the AHS Rosette in any other show is not eligible. 5. Entry tags for seedlings must be marked with the word SEEDLING in the space for cultivar name. Names, numbers or any other identifying marks are not permitted on the visible portion of the folded tag. Officers of the Metropolitan Columbus Daylily Society President...
