Purchase of machinery By applying the CE label, the manufacturer confirms that he has adhered to the relevant safety requirements and European standards when designing and building the machine. Always verify that the equipment is CE certified when purchasing machinery. The GS label is a German sign confirming that the equipment has been certified by a third party. It indicates a higher safety standard than the CE label. It is strongly recommend to purchase only machinery with GS label.

Dangerous Substances Vessels, cans, containers and piping containing dangerous substances must be unambiguously and permanently labelled. No!!! After re-filling hazardous substances into other vessels, these also need to be labelled. Never use food or beverage containers for storing hazardous substances. Observe the material safety data sheets and the workplace safety sheets when using dangerous substances!

If an accident has occurred What else has to be done after an accident? Report each accident to your supervisor immediately! An accident notification report is required if the accident results in more than three days absence from work, or in treatment by an external doctor or in a hospital. Enter all minor injuries in the first aid logbook. This is important to demonstrate that the accident occurred during work DESY employees are insured through the Occupational Liability Insurance LUK while at work. If you have taken significant amounts of first-aid material from the first aid boxes, or if you notice that something is missing, ensure that the missing material is replaced (contact ZTS on -5555).
