NET CONTENTS: 4 x.448 kg total/carton (28 gram water-soluble bag, 4 x 28g/foil envelope, 4 x 112g/foil envelope/box) DO NOT SELL WATER-SOLUBLE BAGS SEPARATELY. BASF Canada Inc. 345 Carlingview Drive Toronto, Ontario M9W 6N9 SANMITE is a registered trademark of Nissan Chemical Industries Limited used under license by BASF Canada Inc.

GENERAL INFORMATION: This package contains SANMITE miticide/insecticide, a 75% wettable powder, in water-soluble bags to control mites and whiteflies in greenhouses on ornamental plants and flowers and foliage crops and mites on greenhouse peppers, greenhouse cucumbers and greenhouse tomatoes. SANMITE works primarily through contact action, so good spray coverage is necessary. SANMITE provides excellent knockdown and residual control. A good evaluation of performance can generally be made 4 to 7 days after treatment. DIRECTIONS FOR USE: SANMITE solution is prepared by placing the 28-gram PVA bags into water where they dissolve so the contents can disperse. After removing the PVA bags required for application, reseal the foil envelope making sure that the child proof tab is engaged. Do not handle PVA bags excessively or expose them to moisture as this may cause breakage. PVA bags should not become wet prior to adding to the spray tank. Do not handle the bags with wet hands or wet gloves. Always reseal the overwrap foil envelope to protect the remaining unused bags. Do not remove water-soluble bags from overwrap except to add them directly to the spray tank. While agitating, add the required number of bags as determined by the dosage recommendations. The time required for the bags to dissolve will depend on water temperature and the degree of agitation. Do not place the PVA bags directly in diesel oils, dormant or summer-spray-type oils. PVA bags are water soluble, not oil soluble. 1

RECOMMENDED APPLICATION RATES: Greenhouse grown ornamental trees, shrubs, plants and flowers (see Table 3 for list of plant species tested for tolerance) TABLE 1: RECOMMENDED APPLICATION RATES FOR SANMITE PEST 1000 L OR 10,000 M 2 Two-spotted spider mites 142-284 grams or 5-10 (28-gram PVA bags) Whiteflies 284-425 grams or (Sweet potato, greenhouse) 10-15 (28-gram PVA bags) TIMING: Treat when pests are immature or at susceptible stage and populations are building before crop damage. TABLE 2: RECOMMENDED APPLICATION RATE FOR CONTROL OF TWO-SPOTTED SPIDER MITES ON GREENHOUSE PEPPERS, GREENHOUSE CUCUMBERS AND GREENHOUSE TOMATOES CROP Greenhouse peppers* Greenhouse cucumbers Greenhouse tomatoes*** RATE PER HA OR 1000 L OF WATER 284 grams or 10 (28-gram) PVA bags 284 grams** or 10 (28-gram) PVA bags 284 grams** or 10 (28-gram) PVA bags MAXIMUM NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS/ CROP CYCLE APPLICATION TO HARVEST INTERVAL (DAYS) 2 3 days 2 2 days 2 2 days * Apply when mites first appear and before the threshold of 5 mites per leaf is reached. ** Apply at intervals of at least 28 days. *** Do not use SANMITE-treated tomatoes for processing. 2

MIXING: 1. Fill the spray tank one-half full of water and start agitation. 2. Add the required number of water-soluble bags to the tank. 3. Continue agitation while filling tank to the desired spray volume. 4. Allow the bags to completely dissolve before spraying. 5. Dilute SANMITE in enough water to provide thorough spray coverage. If foaming occurs, an anti-foaming agent may be used. NOTE: Do not attempt to use the PVA bags directly in diesel, oils or summer-type oils as in ULV or LV use. PVA bags are water-soluble, not oil-soluble. SANMITE miticide/insecticide has been tested on many species of ornamental plants. The species listed below have shown no phytotoxic response to SANMITE; however, not all cultivars have been tested. It is possible that certain cultivars may be sensitive and it is advised that a small number of plants be treated prior to application to the entire planting. SANMITE may leave visible residues when used at high rates. See Restrictions and Limitations section. The toxicity of SANMITE to beneficial predators or parasites has not been fully evaluated. Use with caution in a pest management program utilizing beneficial arthropods. RESISTANCE MANAGEMENT: For resistance management, please note that SANMITE contains a Group 21 insecticide/acaricide. Any insect/mite population may contain individuals naturally resistant to SANMITE and other Group 21 insecticides/acaricides. The resistant individuals may dominate the insect/mite population if this group of insecticides/acaricides is used repeatedly in the same fields. Other resistance mechanisms that are not linked to site of action but are specific for individual chemicals, such as enhanced metabolism, may also exist. Appropriate resistance-management strategies should be followed. 3

To delay insecticide resistance: Where possible, rotate the use of SANMITE or other Group 21 insecticides/acaricides with different groups that control the same pests in a field. Use tank mixtures with insecticides/acaricides from a different group when such use is permitted. Insecticide/acaricide use should be based on an IPM program that includes scouting, record keeping, and considers cultural, biological and other chemical control practices. Monitor treated pest populations for resistance development. Contact your local extension specialist or certified crop advisors for any additional pesticide resistance-management and/or IPM recommendations for the specific site and pest problems in your area. For further information or to report suspected resistance, contact BASF at 1-877-371-2273. 4

MIXING 1. Fill the spray tank one-half full of water and start agitation. 2. Add the required number of water-soluble bags to the tank. 3. Continue agitation while filling tank to the desired spray volume. 4. Allow the bags to completely dissolve before spraying. 5. Dilute SANMITE miticide/insecticide in enough water to provide thorough spray coverage. If foaming occurs, an anti-foaming agent may be used. NOTE: Do not attempt to use the PVA bags directly in diesel, oils or summertype oils as in ULV or LV use. PVA bags are water-soluble, not oilsoluble. SANMITE miticide/insecticide has been tested on many species of ornamental plants. The species listed in Table 2 have shown no phytotoxic response to SANMITE miticide/insecticide; however, not all cultivars have been tested. It is possible that certain cultivars may be sensitive and it is advised that a small number of plants be treated prior to application to the entire planting. SANMITE miticide/insecticide may leave visible residues when used at high rates. See Restrictions and Limitations section. The toxicity of SANMITE miticide/insecticide to all beneficial predators or parasites has not been fully evaluated. Use with caution in a pest management program utilizing beneficial arthropods. RESTRICTIONS AND LIMITATIONS Do not apply this product through any type of irrigation system. Do not apply as a fog. Do not apply this product by air. Do not use products that contain boron because boron will prevent the water-soluable bags from dissolving. If boron-containing products have been used in previous applications, thoroughly wash the spray tank according to the recommended tank cleaning methods. 6

Physical incompatibility, reduced pest control or crop injury may result from mixing SANMITE miticide/insecticide with other pesticides (fungicides, herbicides, insecticides, or miticides), additives, or fertilizers. BASF does not offer any recommendations for tank mixing SANMITE miticide/insecticide with any other products. PRECAUTIONS 1. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. 2. May be harmful if swallowed. Do not take internally. 3. May be fatal if inhaled. Do not inhale dust, vapour or spray mist. May irritate eyes. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. 4. Wash thoroughly after handling and before eating, drinking or smoking. 5. Wear waterproof rain gear, rubber boots, goggles, gloves (rubber, PVC, neoprene or nitrile), hat and a vapour cartridge with dust/mist filter respirator during mixing, loading and application. DO NOT re-enter treated areas within 12 hours. If required, individuals may re-enter treated areas within 12 hours for short-term tasks not involving hand labour if at least 4 hours has passed since application and long-sleeved shirt, long pants, gloves (rubber, PVC, neoprene or nitrile) and a vapour cartridge with dust/mist filter respirator are worn. 6. If clothing becomes contaminated, remove and wash separate from household laundry before reuse. 7. Clean spray equipment thoroughly after use. 8. Do not contaminate domestic or irrigation water, lakes, streams or ponds by the cleaning of equipment or the disposal of wastes.
