General information This operations manual in coincidence with a passport is an operation maintenance guide of "Microsense 730" portable gas analyzers (further - device) which contains sections providing a proper use and descriptions of functional principle, performance specifications and other information which is necessary for proper use. Detectors are designed for concentration measurement of combustible gases, volume ratio of oxygen, carbon oxide and hydrogen disulfide. Detectors can be used in coal, oil, gas, power industry. Detectors have Р0 Ex ia I Х /0 Ex ia IIС T4 Х explosion proof mark. The manufacturer guarantees regular operation of the detector, only if the requirements of this document are observed. This Manual must be carefully read before using the detectors. Prior to operation or maintenance of the detectors, make sure that you read and understood the content of the Manual in full. This condition is obligatory to ensure safe operation and proper functioning of the detectors. 1. Description and Operation 1.1 Function and Application Range Devices are designed to measure the concentration of combustible gases and volume ratio of oxygen, carbon oxide and hydrogen disulfide. Devices can be used in coal, oil, gas, power industry. The detector performs the following functions: - continuous monitoring and digital indication of controlled gas components; - light, sound and vibro-alarm when concentration of controlled gases reaches the set (alarm) level; - record and subsequent display of concentration extreme values over a period after switching on; - recording of measurement results by means of non-volatile memory; - transfer of measurement results to a PC; - fault indication 1.2 Design and functional principle The front panel of the case includes: lamp signaling visual panel responsible for air condition alarm (1) color LCD display (2) buzzer (3)

controlled gas detector element (4), (6), (7); detector control button (5); The following items are located on the back panel of the case: D-ring mount (8); Clip (9); Nameplate (10); Number plate (11) Functional principle For C X H Y measurement the device contains a high-capacity low-consuming optical sensor which functional principle is based on the preferential absorption of infrared radiation by molecules of hydrocarbons in the field of 3,3 3,4 microns wavelengths.

For measurement of oxygen and toxic gases concentration device contains sensors which measurement principle is electrochemical method. The pressure and temperature sensors for internalization of external factors which influence the measurement accuracy are also installed in the device. Data from these sensors isn't displayed. For power supply a non-chargeable chemical source is used which works, depending on modification, for 2 or 3 years. 1.3 Technical Specifications 1.3.1 Dimensions, Weight, Power Supply and Power Consumption of Detectors The overall dimensions, weight, power supply source and power consumption of the detectors are specified in Table 1. Before using, ensure the integrity of the casing, keypad and display. In case of transfer to the consumer, or in case of operation, the device can be in the following conditions: * "super sleep mode" - a device condition for the period of transportation to the consumer from manufacturer. * "sleep mode" a device condition for the inaction period (lack of use, for example, between changes) - the absence of any symbols on display, except the remained operating time of the device.

* "operating mode" the numbers on the display indicate concentration of the measured gases; During transportation from manufacturer to consumer the device is in a condition of ultralow energy consumption "super sleep mode" condition. At the same time there is no indication on the display, but the chains which are responsible for sensors conditions are activated. After activation of the device a return to a "super sleep mode" condition is impossible, operability countdown starts. After exterior check the device should be brought out of "super sleep mode" in clean air by holding the button which is located on a faceplate. After switching on the sensors will be checked within 30 seconds subject to the device is switched on in clean air, the display is checked the signs and parameters must be displayed, 2 short sound signals will be heard one loud and one silent, which means that the sound alarm is properly functioning, the vibrating motor is checked by single switching on, all indicators of a lamp signaling are cascaded intermittent, display illumination is switched on momentarily. After internal systems checking, the device will pass into a measured gases view state condition and also algorithm for calculation of STEL and TWA will be started. Having finished the work gas analyzer has to be switched to "sleep mode" by long pushing the button. In operating time of the device by short-term pressing the button you may cycle information on the screen: Basic display - current reading of gas contamination which updates on-line. Min display - bottom value of gas concentration. "HIGH" symbols in the bottom of the display. STEL display - STEL information, "STEL" in the bottom of the display. "TWA display" - TWA information, "TWA" in the bottom of the display. After showing TWA information a display will get back to current data imaging mode. Each keystroke induces display lighting for 2 seconds. Digital n-character display

Device display, marked by numbers: 1) hydrogen sulfide concentration, 0-999 ppm 2) CXHY concentration (0-100 LFL) 3) oxygen concentration (0 30 Vol.%) 4) carbon monoxide concentration (0-999 ppm) 5) operating time left, in weeks 6) operating time left from service life, %, 7) quantity of working time left 8) sign of maintenance support necessity 9) max. and min. gas concentration from last sleep mode 10) TWA indicator 11) STEL indicator Signaling system There are 2 alarm levels for each channel: CO, H2S, LEL channels «Level 1» and «Level 2» any value from 10% MPC to scale range end, if conditions are met «Level 1» < «Level 2». O2 channel «level 1» < 20,7%; «level 2» > 21,2% In case of alarm levels reaching by any channel - light, sound and vibro alarm are activated. Indication of concentration starts to blink depending on by mean of which channel operating threshold was reached. CO, H2S, LEL channels In case of "Level 1" threshold exceeding by CO, H2S, LEL channels light, vibro and sound alarm are activated with 85 db acoustic pressure. Sound and vibro alarm can be disabled by short-time clicking the button. Channel value continues to blink, lamp signaling reduces the frequency of flashlights five times less. All types of alarm are automatically disabled in case of measured gases concentration reducing according to safe threshold level.

In case of "Level 2" threshold exceeding by CO, H2S, LEL channels light, vibro and sound alarm are activated with 95 db acoustic pressure. Sound, light and vibro alarm can t be disabled till concentration reducing lower than «level 2». O2 channel If reached «Level 1» (low value of O 2 concentration) by O2 channel light, vibro and sound alarm are activated with 95 db acoustic pressure. Alarm can t be disabled, all types of alarm switches off after gas concentration will change lower «Level 1» threshold. If reached «Level 2» (high value of O 2 concentration) by O2 channel light, vibro and sound alarm are activated with 85 db acoustic pressure. Sound and vibro alarm can be disabled by short-time clicking the button. O 2 concentration continues to blink, light alarm reduces the frequency of flashlights five times less. All types of alarm switches off after gas concentration will change lower «Level 1» threshold. Built-in clock The device contains a built-in clock for binding of measured gases concentration to the measurement time in the built-in memory. Time is corrected automatically reading data from the built-in memory to the external device. Time isn t indicated on the display. Remained operating time The device is equipped with remained operating time display function. This function traces operation parameters, number of alarm actuations, temperature operating conditions etc. for remained operating time forecasting. Original calculation is made according to the following conditions: ambient temperature 25 C, total signaling action time within 1 day doesn't exceed 2 minutes. Indication of the remained operating time is calculated in weeks (WK) by the end of work or in percentage of all period of operation (% is displayed). During the "sleep mode" for extended life of the instrument, the alarm and record to non-volatile storage are disabled. Internal memory of the device. The device is equipped with the built-in non-volatile memory for storage of measured gases concentration with a binding to the time of the device. In the device's memory about 11000 records about atmosphere condition can be kept. Time between data recording can be adjusted ranging from 15 up to 3600 seconds.
