IS 974 LX electroic cotrollers for forced air refrigeratig uits This famil cosist of a mai uit called IS ad a expasio module called EWEM, coected together with a telephoe cable. USER INTERFACE The user has a displa ad four kes for cotrollig status ad programmig of the istrumet. KEYS AND MENUS UP ke DOWN ke fc ke set ke Scrolls through the meu items Icreases the values Activates maual def. fuctio Scrolls through the meu items Decreases the values Programmable b parameter ESC fuctio (exit) Programmable b parameter Accesses the setpoit Accesses the meus Cofirms the commads Displaig the alarms (if preset) At start-up the istrumet performs a Lamp Test; for few secods the displa ad the leds blik, i order to verif their itegrit ad correct operatio. The istrumet has two mai meus: the Machie Status ad Programmig meu. ACCESSING AND USING MENUS Resources are arraged i a meu, which ca be accessed b pressig ad quickl releasig the set ke ( Machie Status meu) or b holdig dow the set ke for more tha 5 secods ( Programmig meu). To access the cotets of each folder, idicated b the relevat label, just press the set ke oce. You ca ow scroll through the cotets of each folder, modif it or use its fuctios. If ou do ot use the keboard for over 5 secods (time-out) or if ou press the fc ke oce, the last value show o the displa is cofirmed ad ou retur to the previous scree mask. LED fc set MACHINE STATUS MENU To access the Machie Status meu Press ad quickl release the set ke. If alarms are ot preset, the label SEt appears. B usig the UP ad DOWN kes ou ca scroll through the other folders i the meu: -AL: alarm folder (if preset); -Pb: probe value folder; -Pb: probe value folder -SEt: Setpoit settig folder. Set Settig Access the Machie Status meu b pressig ad quickl releasig the set ke. The label of the SEt folder appears. To displa the Setpoit value press the set ke agai. The value appears o the displa. To chage the Setpoit value, use the UP ad DOWN kes withi 5 secods. If the parameter is LOC = the Setpoit caot be chaged. Alarm o If alarm coditio exists, whe accessig The Machie Status meu the AL folder label appears (see the Diagostics sectio). Displaig Probes B pressig the set ke whe the appropriate label appears, the value of the probe associated to it is displaed. PROGRAMMING MENU To access the Programmig meu, press the set ke for more tha 5 secods. If specified, the level access PASSWORD will be requested (see parameter PA ) ad (if the password is correct) the label of the first folder will follow. If the password is wrog, the displa will show the PA label agai. To scroll other folders, use the UP ad DOWN kes; the folders cotai the level ad parameters. The level parameters ma be protected b a secod password (see PA parameter). If specified, level parameters are hidde to user; at the etrace of the Cf folder the level access PASSWORD will be Positio Related Fuctio Status Compressor or rela ON whe the compressor is started up; blikig i case of dela, protectio or blocked eablig Defrost Alarm Fas ON whe defrostig; blikig i case of maual eablig ON whe the alarm is eabled; blikig whe the alarm is sileced ON whe the fa is workig requested ad (if the correct password is etered) the label of the first folder i the programmig meu will follow. To eter the folder, press set. The label of the first visible parameter appears. To scroll through the other parameters, use the UP ad DOWN kes; to chage the parameter, press ad release set, the set the desired value usig the UP ad DOWN kes, ad cofirm with the set ke to move to the ext parameter. PLEASE NOTE: It is strogl recommeded to switch off ad switch o agai the cotroller atime parameters have bee chaged to prevet malfuctioig o cofiguratio ador ogoig timigs. PASSWORD The passwords PA ad PA allow access respectivel to level ad level parameters. I the stadard cofiguratio passwords are ot preset. To eable them ad assig them the desired value, access the Programmig meu, withi the folder with the dis label. If passwords are eabled, the will be requested: - PA at the etrace of the Programmig meu (see the Programmig Meu sectio); - PA withi the folder with the Cf label cotaiig level parameters. MANUAL ACTIVATION OF THE DEFROSTING CYCLE To mauall activate the defrostig ccle, press the UP ke for 5 secods. If defrostig coditios are ot preset, (for example the evaporator probe temperature is higher tha defrost stop temperature or if parameter OdO ), the displa will blik three (3) times, i order to idicate that the operatio will ot be performed. COPY CARD The Cop Card is a accessor coected to the TTL serial port which allows programmig quickl the istrumet parameters (upload ad dowload parameter s map). The operatio is performed as follows: Format This commad allows cop card formattig, a operatio ecessar i case of first use or to cop maps with differet models. Warig: if the cop card has bee programmed, usig the Fr the data etered are erased. This operatio caot be cacelled.

Upload This operatio loads the programmig parameters from the istrumet. Dowload This operatio dowloads to the istrumet the programmig parameters. The operatios are performed accessig the folder idetified b the FPr label ad selectig, accordig to the case, UL, dl or Fr commads; the operatio is cofirmed b pressig the set ke. If the operatio is successful a is displaed, o the cotrar, if it fails a will be displaed. Dowload from reset (istrumet OFF Coect the co card with the istrumet OFF (ot uder voltage). Whe the istrumet is switched o the programmig parameters will be dowloaded ito the istrumet; after the lamp-test the dipla will show for about 5 secods: label dly if cop operatio successful label DL if ot PLEASE NOTE: after the dowload operatio the istrumet will immediatel work with the ew parameters map settig. TELEVIS SYSTEM The lik with the Televis sstem ca go through the serial port TTL (the BUS ADAPTER TTL RS-485 iterface module must be used). I order to cofigure the istrumet for this purpose ou must access the folder idetified b the Add label ad use the parameters dea ad FAA. KEYBOARD LOCKING The istrumet icludes a facilit for disablig the keboard, b programmig the Loc parameter (see folder with dis label). If the keboard is locked, ou ca still access the programmig meu b pressig the set ke. The Setpoit ca also be viewed. DIAGNOSTICS The alarm coditio is alwas sigalled b the buzzer (if preset) ad b the led of the alarm ico The alarm sigal produced b a fault thermostat probe (referred to probe ) is show as E o the istrumet displa The alarm sigal produced b a fault evaporator probe (probe ) is show as E o the istrumet displa. MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM TEMPERA- TURE ALARMS Regulatio of the miimum ad maximum temperature alarms refers to the thermostat probe. The temperature limits defied b the HAL (maximum temperature alarm) ad LAL parameters (miimum temperature alarm) are i absolute temperature value. Whe a alarm status occurs, if o alarm exclusio phases are uderwa (see alarm exclusio parameters), the alarm set ico is lit up ad the buzzer, ador the rela cofigured as a alarm, is activated. The occurrece of this alarm does ot i awa effect the cotrol activities i progress. This alarm status ca be viewed i the AL folder with AH-AL labels. The istrumet is equipped with screw termial boards for coectio of electrical cables with a diameter of.5 mm (oe coductor ol per termial for power coectios). For the capacit of the termials, see the label o the istrumet. The rela cotacts are voltage free. Do ot exceed the maximum curret allowed; i case of higher loads, use a appropriate cotactor. Make sure the power suppl voltage complies with the oe required b the istrumet. I V versios the power suppl must be provided b a securit trasformer with the protectio of a delaed 5 ma fuse. Probes have o coectio polarit ad ca be exteded usig a regular bipolar cable (ote that the extesio of the probes affects the EMC electromagetic compatibilit of the istrumet: pa extreme attetio to wirig). Probe cables, power suppl cables ad the TTL serial cables should be distat from power cables. CONDITIONS OF USE PERMITTED USE For safet reasos the istrumet must be istalled ad used accordig to the istructio provided ad i particular, uder ormal coditios, parts bearig dagerous voltage levels must ot be accessible. The device must be adequatel protected from water ad dust as per the applicatio ad must also ol be accessible via the use of tools (with the exceptio of the frotlet).
