Designing the future. What has inspired you to look into this Catalogue and be interested in Wilkhahn ideas for designing living and working environments? Is it the curiosity of finding out what a company has to offer that stands for design made in Germany like hardly any other in the industry? Are you looking for ideas and inspiration to visualize your own success convincingly? Are you faced with challenges that require intelligent and high-quality solutions? Or is it simply the pleasure to be derived from carefully designed, lasting and fascinatingly functional products? Whatever the reason may be with this Catalogue we would like to take you on a visual journey to provide you with inspiration for designing the future. For design can visualize approach and influence behaviour. Internally and externally. This is where decisive potential can be found to sharpen one s position, particularly in times of lacklustre products, quick substitution and stimulus satiation. The continuity, consequence and coherence of Wilkhahn design guarantees that we will be able to be with you for decades to come. Since the mid-twentieth century, Wilkhahn has been regarded as a pioneer of modern German furniture design: enduring quality, functional intelligence and time stable design are values that make Wilkhahn a coveted brand in all markets of the world. Our clients include leading companies in the field of finance, insurance, industry, trade and services, as well as public administrations, educational institutions, accountants and law firms, advertising agencies and private lovers of design throughout the world. Numerous international design awards and publications have marked our milestones which continue to make furniture history. Our inspiration is our focus on the future and the desire to develop products for you that are lasting and better. In other words, the exciting challenge of successfully designing the future together with you. Let yourself be inspired by the Wilkhahn Catalogue for conference furniture, high-quality office chairs or sophisticated interiors for relaxation. We look forward to our journey with you. Logon conference table range. Design Andreas Störiko. Inspiration from aircraft construction allows elegant cross sections with maximum stability. For example: table top in oak, stained dark, open-pore lacquering; aluminium uprights, clear anodized; foot sections in die-cast aluminium, polished. Brand-typical Wilkhahn design is displayed by a unique combination of design, innovation and quality. Wilkhahn design is not influenced by short-lived fashion trends but is reduced to essentials: Wilkhahn design is simple, honest and straightforward yet it combines pure elegance with top functionality. It incorporates self explanation and intuitive operation as well as delight in aesthetic form, authentic materials and carefully designed features. The strength of Wilkhahn design lies in its very understatement. For the products are convincing without dominating an interior. In terms of function, Wilkhahn repeatedly succeeds in creating milestones which become global models of excellence for completely new generations of furniture. This is no coincidence but the result of a systematic development process. It is focused on developing the simplest solutions possible for complex requirements. Observing, analyzing and questioning are prerequisites for thorough rethinking and for achieving innovation. 8

Guiding principles design, innovation, quality which have lasting appeal. It is not a matter of designing a new chair but of improving sitting, not about a table but about promoting communication, not about a range of casual upholstered seating but about relaxing. The third dimension of longevity and high quality comprises materials and finish. Quality not only where it can be seen, but where it is needed is the credo for the sustainable value of Wilkhahn ranges. High-quality materials, selected surface finishes, workmanship with attention to detail and intelligent engineering principles are a guarantee that Wilkhahn ranges will continue to fascinate you for a long time to come. And should they show signs of wear after years of intensive use, every product may be easily updated many times anew. Our approach to responsibility considers conservation of natural resources as well as optimal payout of your investments. 9

The more dynamic work processes are, the more important face-to-face communication is. It is decisive for team building and identity as well as for the willingness to embrace change, creativity and innovation. Wilkhahn provides suitable furnishing solutions, depending on the nature of communication goals to be achieved: prestigious, customized table configurations for information and decision processes with a classic character, variable table systems for conference and seminar environments, and mobile foldable and pivotable table ranges for dynamic workshop and project work. Regardless of the different types of conference and utilization concepts, all Wilkhahn conference ranges have one point in common: they stand for high-quality function and design, and excellent workmanship. And as heightened concentrative ability is also a question of providing physical relaxation, corresponding chair models from the extensive Wilkhahn collection of seating are available to suit every table range and requirement profile. To create perfectly coherent solutions

Conferencing Palette table range. Design Karlheinz Rubner. Sito cantilever chair. Design wiege.

Sito range. Club model group. Design wiege. The Club models of the Sito cantilever range are characterized by a high degree of seated comfort, distinct design and luxurious features. The innovative frame construction with a cantilevered seat platform is derived from bridge building. The classic contours of the upholstery with superbly soft leather covers finished with elaborate, triple stitching emphasize the exclusive character of prestigious meeting and conference interiors. 12

Palette table range. Design Karlheinz Rubner. Four square legs, a solid table top like virtually no other range, Palette stands for the modern archetype of a conference table. The visual point of connection between the table leg and top has a ribbed profile to add an appearance of optical lightness. It is ingeniously simple to unlock the table leg and reposition it to attach an additional element, thus enabling Palette to be converted from a single table to a complex table configuration.

Palette table range. Design Karlheinz Rubner. Table configuration with integrated, electrically retractable displays and microphone technology. Table tops and modesty panels in oak, stained dark, open-pore lacquering.

Palette table range. FS-Line range. Model group 220. Design Klaus Franck, Werner Sauer. This table configuration was created using slender, rectangular legs in clear anodized aluminium profile. The modular character of the range allows customized table geometry and lipping in addition to various table leg forms. To team with the prestigious character of the interior: swivel chairs with automatic synchro-adjustment from the design classic range: the FS-Line. Colour coordinated, slim, leather-covered cushions repeat the clear geometry of the interior and provide relaxed dynamic sitting of the highest degree. 15

Palette table range. Versal stacking chair. Design wiege. The straight contours of the spacious, four-legged Versal chair harmonize perfectly with the clear elegance of the table range. Ingenious and practical: the outward curvature of the armrests allows Versal chairs to be stacked compactly to provide standby seating.

Versal stacking chair. DinA table range. Design Udo Schill, Timo Küchler. Reduce to the max this is the principle of the DinA range of tables and storage units. This makes DinA an ideal all-rounder for conference and office interiors, for consultation spaces or for a private setting. The balanced proportions (1: 2), the monolithic form and authentic materials (wood, stainless steel) mark the strength of high-level design.

Contas table range. Design wiege, Fritz Frenkler, Anette Ponholzer. The Contas table range has been designed for variable table configurations: with a classic form, simple handling, high-quality materials and surface finishes. A table system that is equally at home in prestigious conference environments and in seminar and training interiors. Light construction principle, assembly without the use of tools and patented linking and folding mechanisms ensure rapid payout of investments 18

Contas table configuration. Sito cantilever chair. Design wiege. The Sito cantilever chair, bright chromium-plated, with elegant, slim, leather-covered cushions, is used in this example to complement application as an optically light conference configuration.

DinA range. Design Udo Schill, Timo Küchler. Three table sizes and three heights (low, working and standing) that is the DinA table and storage unit range in a nutshell. The next smallest format is achieved by halving the corresponding table surface area; it always retains the same proportions. With fascinatingly simple elegance and intelligent details: for example, with flexible storage nets underneath the table tops. 20

DinA table range. Sito cantilever chair. Design wiege. The frame of the Sito cantilever chair with matt chromium-plated finish acts as a visual complement to the finely sand-blasted stainless steel structure of the table legs.

Logon table range. Design Andreas Störiko. Sito cantilever chair. Design wiege. The Logon table range may be used to create table configurations to suit virtually any requirements, as with the illustrated barrel-shaped table surface that can seat up to 24.

630 table range. Design wiege, Fritz Frenkler, Werner Baumhakl. Conrack sideboard. Design wiege, Fritz Frenkler, Justus Kolberg, Sven Birkenheuer. Coherent solutions: the creations of different designers harmonize to form a perfect whole as they are all based on the principles of Wilkhahn design. For example, they use the same surface finishes and lipping for table and sideboard tops, matching armrest pads on the Sito cantilever chair or coordinated frame finishes the latter in this illustration are in aluminium clear anodized combined with matt chromium-plated steel tube.

Timetable mobile table range. Design Andreas Störiko. Sito stackable cantilever chair. Design wiege. Fascinating solutions emerge, which pay off quickly, when aesthetic design is combined with intelligence. Designer Andreas Störiko created products for Wilkhahn which have added a new dimension to furnishing concepts for conference interiors. Even large conference and seminar spaces can be furnished dynamically in no time at all by means of ingenious, patented pivoting and swivel mechanisms requiring just one person for reconfiguration and extremely compact storage facilities. 25

Quality makes all the difference: Wilkhahn cannot only claim to be the first company in the world to have developed mobile, foldable tables but the ranges have also remain unrivalled until today in terms of intuitive operation and inspired function: for example, by means of the automatic pivoting of the table legs when the table top is folded up, allowing extremely compact storage. Not to mention aesthetic quality. 26

Timetable range. Design Andreas Störiko. 27

Mobile Confair folding table. Design Andreas Störiko. Sito white cantilever chairs. Design wiege. Many Wilkhahn ranges are available in white for application in the health and hotel sector, and also in the private sphere. The example shows the Sito cantilever chair with white through-dyed armrest pads, seat shell and back shell. It is teamed with the Confair folding table with a white top, frame coated white and with bright chromium-plated foot sections. 28

Mobile Confair folding table. Design Andreas Störiko. A table range to meet any challenge: extend with ease and speed and a spacious area of 260 x 110 cm invites you to take a seat. The folding table stands (or rolls) for a modern communication culture: dynamic, creative, space-saving and with attractive design. This unique table, which has received the highest international awards, is also a perfect solution for furnishing interiors for top executives. 29

Confair range. Design wiege, Fritz Frenkler, Justus Kolberg. Chairs, pinboards, flipcharts and servers from the Confair range are modular, mobile and ideal for workshops requiring self-organization and active participation. They have become a global model of excellence for a completely new generation of furniture for creative project work. Above all: they are characterized by coherent, high-quality design to allow them to fit together like an intelligent set of tools and emphasize professional creativity. 31

Mobile Confair folding table. Modus cantilever chair. Design Klaus Franck, Werner Sauer, wiege, Fritz Frenkler, Justus Kolberg. The Confair folding table always cuts a good figure in a conference room or a congress centre. In addition, interiors may be reconfigured extremely fast and easily to meet new applications ranging from a closed conference configuration or a horseshoe layout to concourse setting. Cantilever models from the Modus range provide an ideal solution if greater demands are made on comfort for longer periods of sitting.

Modus cantilever chair. Logon table range. Design Andreas Störiko. The backrest of the cantilever model with semi-transparent flexible material adjusts ergonomically correctly to individual body types like a supportive membrane. The characteristic side apertures and the leather-covered crescent-shaped grip are intelligent design features that are typical of Wilkhahn: the former provide the user s back with pleasant ventilation and the latter allows the cantilever chair to be moved away from the table with ease.

Modus swivel chair. Model group Conference. Design Klaus Franck, Werner Sauer, wiege. 34

A swivel chair that speaks for itself: modern but free from fashion, clear and not dominating, comfortable yet slim, high-quality but not lavish The graceful flow of the contoured star base in die-cast aluminium, the elegant curvature of the armrests with finely embossed leather pads and the leather covers with welted seams make Modus Conference an aesthetic and tactile experience. A fine example of elegance, supporting our conference culture. 35

Modus swivel chair. Model group Medium. Design Klaus Franck, Werner Sauer, wiege. The interior is bright and airy, and the conference chairs with semi-transparent back covering form a perfect complement with their lightness and grace. The torsion-rod controlled automatic synchro-mechanism encourages movement and changes in posture and provides physical relaxation for lengthy periods of sitting too.

Modus swivel chair. Model group Conference. Design Klaus Franck, Werner Sauer, wiege. Palette table configuration. Design Karlheinz Rubner. The larger the conference configuration and the more participants who have to be seated, the more important it is to ensure a sense of structure and harmonious arrangement. Modus Conference swivel chairs may be positioned and adjusted with precision. Combined with the customized oval table configuration from the Palette range, the impression is one of open communication on equal terms. The form of the bright chromium-plated frames adds to the overall appearance of harmony. 37

Aline multipurpose chair. Design Andreas Störiko. 635 table range. Design wiege, Fritz Frenkler, Werner Baumhakl. The 630 and the 635 ranges provide quite a different type of round table : a table top with a maximum diameter of 180 cm to seat up to nine is supported by a centre pedestal, which boasts high stability due to a heavy foot plate. As a charming contrast: Aline, the lightweight, transparent skid-base chair with white through-dyed seat and back frames. 38

Aline multipurpose chair. Design Andreas Störiko. Placed side by side, the rear curves of the seat and back frames create a lively visual pattern and give Aline a graceful, organic appearance. 39

Aline multipurpose chair. Design Andreas Störiko. DinA table range. Design Udo Schill, Timo Küchler. The example shows a version of Aline in grey, coordinated with the understated colour of the DinA meeting table with a black-grey through-dyed wooden top and matt stainless steel legs. The furnishing of the interior merges perfectly with the light-flooded loft with black-grey industrial quality flooring.

Aline multipurpose chair. Design Andreas Störiko. Stack compactly, configure casual rows with a lively visual pattern, sit in comfort the innovative skid-base chair is a convincing solution due to minimum material input, maximum transparency and easy handling. The elegant form of the seat frame is not only a distinct design feature but also guarantees neat, compact stacking. In black, grey or white the elegant transparency of the material preserves the ambience of an interior even in high-density arrangements. 41

Sitting everywhere and whenever you like at home or at work, on a train, airplane or in the car, in front of the television, at the dining table or in the theatre is the most natural thing in the world.

Homo erectus has finally become Homo sapiens sedens as a result of information and communication technology: a permanently sedentary being characterized by heightened concentrative progress but suffering from an increasing lack of physical exercise. The real challenge for office chairs is therefore to achieve a proper balance between mind and body: between concentration and relaxation, and between posture and movement. And yet sitting involves more than simply ergonomic requirements.

Working As one of the oldest objects of cultural value, chairs are placeholders and an expression of personal identity. Wilkhahn chairs have repeatedly become milestones in the development of office chairs. As they support their users and also get them moving and as they make an aesthetic contribution to contemporary culture with their typical Wilkhahn design. With understated, intuitive operation and excellent quality. Chairs which one can enjoy for a very long time. Palette table range. Design Karlheinz Rubner. Modus office chair. Model group Medium. Design Klaus Franck, Werner Sauer, wiege. Conrack sideboard. Design wiege, Fritz Frenkler, Justus Kolberg, Sven Birkenheuer.

Modus range. Model group Executive. Design Klaus Franck, Werner Sauer, wiege. A symbol of modern, transparent management: the top models of the Modus range with slim cushions covered in superbly soft leather with welded seams to emphasize the slender contours, while conveying an impression of casual sophistication.

Modus range. Model group Compact. Design Klaus Franck, Werner Sauer, wiege. The combination of a back frame with semi-transparent flexible material, optimal comfort for both support and movement, and graceful design make Modus a global model of excellence for a new generation of office chairs in the 21st century.

48

Modus range. Model group Compact. Design Klaus Franck, Werner Sauer, wiege. The elegantly curved swing plates in die-cast aluminium form the core of Modus in terms of design, engineering and ergonomics. They join the seat platform, the backrest frame covered in flexible material and the armrests. When the user leans back, the swing plates, which contain compact torsion rods, ensure a perfectly coordinated sequence of movement of backrest and seat platform and provide unrivalled comfort. The construction of the backrest with its characteristic apertures is a design feature that is both aesthetic and well thought out: the covering of the flexible upright forks is an open-ended membrane that adjusts automatically to varying body types, provides support in any phase of sitting, and ensures pleasant ventilation for lengthy periods of sitting too. Twenty-five years of experience with materials for covering chair seats and frames guarantees a technological edge and lasting quality of the highest degree. 49

Solis range. Design wiege. Logon table range. Design Andreas Störiko. Clear surfaces, consistent parallel lines and precision down to the very last detail repeat basic architectural forms and provide a welcome contrast to stimulus satiation in offices. A range for aesthetes, which can be equipped with any adjustment options required.

Solis range. Design wiege. Logon table range. Design Andreas Störiko. This extensive product family provides models and design features to suit any requirements: ranging from an office chair for reception areas to an executive s chair with luxurious leather upholstery with welded seams. The silver-coloured adjustment mechanism and the polished star base are perfectly coordinated with the frame finishes of the Logon table range.

Solis range. Design wiege. Wilkhahn has set itself the goal of supporting people and companies at work in the best and simplest manner possible. Clarity and orientation, health and straightforward utilization are prerequisites for people and organizations being able to work efficiently. The design of Solis has therefore been consistently reduced to simple symmetrical sections and harmonized, geometric surfaces. Every detail boasts contours that follow the principles of simplicity and clarity. The interplay of flexible, ergonomically designed seat shells and back shells with a new type of synchro-mechanism allows a high degree of seated comfort: ranging from the slight forward tilt of the seat to the generous back-to-seat ratio in the relaxing position, whereby the seat platform lowers automatically. Easy operation is as important as simple form: the adjustment levers with integral crank handle conveniently positioned at the side allow the user to adjust the seat intuitively whilst remaining seated. The backrest height and the seat depth are also adjusted intuitively but without the use of any levers.

Solis range F. Design wiege. The Solis F model group is marked by uncompromisingly purist engineering and an incredibly high degree of seated comfort. It targets areas that focus on transparency, the future and progress. F stands for frame, for the distinct seat frame and back frame in aluminium covered with transparent, high-performance flexible material. This reveals the fascinatingly clear and precise design of the seat mechanism. An optional feature: seat and the backrest with quilted leather upholstery. Whatever the choice, Solis F makes sitting in pure simplicity an experience for all the senses. 55

Solis F office chair range. Design wiege. DinA table and storage unit range. Design Udo Schill, Timo Küchler. The geometric form of Solis F and the surfaces coated in the colour silver harmonize perfectly with the DinA range that is characterized by design reduced to essentials and minimum input of different materials. DinA tables and storage units are available in three sizes and three heights: low, sitting and standing. The monolithic elements allow high versatility for combination, and are ideal equipment for modern work practices that require a clear approach, creativity and change. 56

DinA range. Design Udo Schill, Timo Küchler. Stitz leaning aid. Design ProduktEntwicklung Roehricht. Simplicity with finesse: the DinA range and the Stitz leaning aid may both be taken as examples of the Wilkhahn claim to being able to find the simplest and best solution possible for complex requirements. As design concentrates on essentials, both products are suitable for any application: ranging from office and showrooms to a private setting. Using materials that grow old with dignity results in design classics which retain their appeal for decades. 57

FS-Line range. Design Klaus Franck, Werner Sauer. DinA table range. Design Udo Schill, Timo Küchler. An office chair that has gone done in history as a design classic and is still one of the best in the world after a quarter of a century: in terms of self-adjustment, stability and simple use, the FS-Line has remained unrivalled until today. With a white through-dyed seat shell, it is as fresh and modern as when it was launched. Nobody would think that two generations of design history separate this table from the chair. 60

FS-Line range. Design Klaus Franck, Werner Sauer. The concept of inserting a highly flexible seat shell between the swivel joint and the swing arms has revolutionized the principle of dynamic sitting throughout the world. With ingeniously simple design, the FS-Line demonstrates a perfect synthesis of form and function.

FS-Line range. Model group 220. Design Klaus Franck, Werner Sauer. 62

The 220 model group is the flagship of the FS-Line. The frame construction, comprising steel tube, a middle section with latex mesh all moulded in open-pore foam, provides a degree of comfort that is usually only found in first-class upholstered furniture. The exchangeable covers in superbly soft leather are finished with stitched fluting, and the leather-covered armrests with Dacron fibre underlay are crafted according to traditional upholstery techniques. A chair to last your entire working life and even one which your predecessor might enjoy that is, of course, should you feel like passing it on.

Sitting without a driving licence : the latest addition to Wilkhahn office chair families provides a pleasantly coherent form, inviting comfort and extremely simple operation for healthy dynamic sitting. This makes Neos an ergonomic task chair to meet any challenge; it merges with any existing interior design a modern, colourful ambience or the light and airy atmosphere of a converted industrial loft.

Neos range. Design wiege. DinA table range. Design Udo Schill, Timo Küchler.

Statisticians estimate that people spend at least a quarter of their waking state either waiting or taking a break in front of the computer, in the kitchen, at traffic lights, the bus stop, in a restaurant, at the doctor s, in the office and even in bed. Waiting periods and breaks are frequently regarded as a waste of time. How would we feel if we missed out on these brief moments of relaxation and recuperation? And if we had no time to linger with dreams and visions?

Tubis range. Design wiege, Klaus Franck, Werner Sauer, Rainer Grabe.

Lounge and relaxation Waiting periods at railway stations and airports have become an integral part of our daily life. When everything has been planned down to the very last minute even the slightest hold-up can cause annoyance. The delay, often accompanied by lack of information regarding the reason, and the uncertainty as to when things will get moving invariably result in irritation and a tense atmosphere Even with optimal planning and foresight, waiting periods cannot be completely avoided. That is why they should be as pleasant as possible to make the best of the situation. Periods of waiting and relaxation in between fulfil important functions: to recharge our batteries, order our thoughts but also to let our fantasy wander. Not forgetting that casual, informal communication often produces most ideas and leads to new friendships. With Wilkhahn, you will find interesting solutions for a variety of requirements for the areas of reception, lounge and relaxation for example, transit zones, foyers, seating configurations for informal meetings and oases of relaxation in the office or at home. The spectrum ranges from high-tech to high-touch, from minimalist and classic to understated luxury, from aluminium to high-quality veneered plywood. Let your spirit fly and inspire you to create your own ideas

70

Tubis range. Design wiege, Klaus Franck, Werner Sauer, Rainer Grabe. Waiting throughout the world in style: Tubis seating elements are among the highest quality, most elegant and durable furniture available for transit zones. The core of the seating system, which has won numerous awards, comprises a modular frame structure that allows virtually unlimited configurations: two horizontal aluminium profiles are supported by an elegant base. They are used for fixing all functional elements such as seat shells, armrests, side tables or sliding footrests. Possible configurations include seating elements with four legs or free-standing, concourse seating as inline, back-to-back or corner solutions or purist benches Tubis combines technically appealing aesthetics, comfort and functionality to create a coherent overall design. That proves a convincing economic solution day in, day out: from Hong Kong to Munich, from Milan to Dubai, from Lanzarote to Macao.

Cana settee. Design wiege, Fritz Frenkler, Justus Kolberg. The settee with its understated and purist design can be converted into a two seater with up to three side tables in no time at all by folding down sections of the backrest that is veneered on the outer side. Or it may be used as a full-size office couch for a power nap in between. The seat is simply pulled out to form a reclining area. Various veneer finishes and a wide choice of fabric and leather from the Wilkhahn collection ensure a high degree of design versatility. 72

Avera range. Design wiege, Fritz Frenkler, Justus Kolberg, Sven Birkenheuer. The art of relaxation becomes second nature when sitting in these inviting, three dimensional formed plywood shells. The spacious volume of the firmly cushioned armchairs, settees and benches is supported by organically contoured aluminium legs. Square or rectangular tables with tops in veneered wood, glass or granite form a perfect addition to seating elements. Avera creates oases of relaxation in foyers, lounges or a private setting. 73

The fascination of contrasts: steel, glass and natural stone have been used for the interior, while the furniture focuses on wood, leather and aluminium. Unique experience of space is possible when opposites are combined so skilfully. This is the best inspiration for creative dreaming.

Avera range. Design wiege, Fritz Frenkler, Justus Kolberg, Sven Birkenheuer.

Cubis range. Design wiege, Klaus Franck, Werner Sauer. The classic cube-shaped armchairs and settees are a perfect standalone solution that merges with any interior. The compact design creates a feeling of privacy even in vast customer services halls and areas with heavy passenger traffic. Firm upholstery and a pleasant seat height make it easier to stand up even for older people and provide a high degree of support and seated comfort. With clear forms, an intelligent concept and distinct design details, Cubis is on the way to becoming a design classic.

Cubis range. Design wiege, Klaus Franck, Werner Sauer. The distinct oval frame profiles are optionally coated, clear anodized or bright chromium-plated. Armchairs, settees and matching square or rectangular side tables with tops with a laminate or wood veneer finish offer high versatility for coordination with existing interior design concepts.

Nuvola range. Design Jutta and Herbert Ohl. Perfect adjustment to individual body types, flexible mobility and the epitome of optical lightness make Nuvola a practical work of art in stainless steel and organically shaped netting. Every object is a transparent eye-catcher that does not dominate a space. The ingenious engineering of the seat and back covering, comprising resilient polyester netting, provides a supportive membrane; the flexible stainless steel legs transport every movement into minimal, relaxing movements.
