HOUSE & GARDENS 2018 Holiday Splendor
HOUSE & GARDENS Welcome to Dear Guest, Welcome to historic Cranbrook House, the centerpiece of the Cranbrook Educational Community, a National Historic Landmark. Cranbrook House was designed by architect Albert Kahn for the founders of Cranbrook, George Gough Booth and Ellen Scripps Booth, and served as their family home for 40 years. Cranbrook House is now the oldest surviving manor home in metro-detroit. The 1908 English Tudor, Arts and Crafts-style house is furnished with handcrafted furniture, tapestries, tiles, wood carvings, glasswork, paintings, fine bindings and other items by world-class artists. For the holiday season, local residents, designers, organizations, businesses, and Cranbrook House & Gardens Auxiliary volunteers have added to the charm of the first floor with wonderfully decorated trees, trains, and other holiday displays. Stop by the Thistle Gift Shop for Cranbrook mementos and other items that are great for gifts! We hope you enjoy Holiday Splendor and thank you for making Cranbrook a part of your holidays! Sincerely, The Holiday Splendor Committee Cranbrook House & Gardens Auxiliary
