Along the Garden Path....... Just a few ponderings about our club the grow and show seems to have run it s course as it is.what are your thoughts or how can it be improved to tweek your interest. Remember our Garden Club Plant Sale on May 10th. As you clean, prune and divide your plants take some of the divisions and pot them up for the sale. Make sure you mark each plant with the plants name, flower habit and price. Water them the day before so they aren t dripping all over on Saturday. We begin our sale at 8:30 meaning your plants need to be dropped off by 7:30 or arrange for someone to gather your contribution along with theirs to eliminate congestion at the market. More info at the April meeting. We have changed the date of our executive meetings to Thursday s. May 1 st is the next one at 11am for those involved. Would you like to go on a tour? I am organizing a road trip to Oliver for May 22 to Sagebrush Demonstration Gardens (dry-land plantings) and three garden centers and lunch. Meeting at the IGA in Okanagan Falls (9:30am) we can carpool from there Looking forward to a few open gardens with our own members this summer. Let me know when you want a group to come and I will email the members to come visit. The Festival of Flowers schedule has been sent along with the Bulletin this month Theresa and Jan have done a fantastic job of creating interesting classes and they will explain what is expected especially in the Floral Art Classes. Exciting to show your beautiful roses etc for the public. The first time I entered I felt my flowers were not good enough and to my surprise I won the best in Border plants that year Also if you have a friend who loves to garden get them to enter as well. This is open to the public not just Garden Club members. Mark your calendars for our Summer Social at Linden Gardens Thursday, July 17 th. We always enjoy our evening at Linden Gardens with the potluck, recognition to those who won placement at the Festival of Flowers and a tour of the gardens. The gardens are a gem to the Okanagan Valley and be sure to take your summer guests out for a tour and lunch. Margaret has an amazing lunch menu what to choose????? Wishing you all a Happy Easter with family and friends. We are so blessed to have warm sunny spring days here in the Okanagan to be able to get out for a walk, hike or just a great picnic and enjoy all the spring blossoms.

He is an avid gardener and this year when he returned from his winter away he started enjoying fresh spinach (March 21) He uses a row cover method with very excellent results. Eliot Coleman from Maine, U.S. has many excellent books about winter gardening, building inexpensive row covers and you too could enjoy spinach lasagna in March Google him and listen to his videos.
