MAINTAINING THE HEPA FILTER UNIT Lid Pull to release HEPA Filter Unit Pull to release Buckle Check HEPA filter unit frequently and clean when dirty. Remove HEPA filter unit from dust bin by pulling both buckle as shown. Clean HEPA filter unit by gently tapping over a rubbish container. Tap on several sides to ensure best cleaning. DO NOT clean the HEPA filter unit by brush or clean it with water. Reinstall the HEPA filter unit as per reverse procedure. Dust Bin TO CLEAN THE PRE-FILTER Remove HEPA filter unit from dust bin. Refer to maintaining the HEPA filter unit (as above). Press the latch to open the dust bin plate. Pre-Filter Grasp the pre-filter and turn it clockwise and pull the pre-filter out. Clean by gently tapping over a rubbish container. Dust Bin Slot Install the pre-filter to the dust bin, aligning the pre-filter tabs to the dust bin slots. Each Pre Filter Tabs is different shape and adjust it to match Dust Bin Slot, then turn counter-clockwise to the lock position until you hear a click sound. After the dust bin is empty of dust, firmly close the dust bin plate. Make sure you hear a click sound to indicate that the dust bin plate is fully latched. Reassemble the HEPA filter unit. Place dust bin unit back into vacuum cleaner by inserting the bottom first and tilting back. Refer to dust bin cleaning. Pre-Filter Tab 4

REPLACING HEPA EXHAUST FILTER Buckle The HEPA exhaust filter removes dirt from exhaust air. Check HEPA exhaust filter after emptying dust bin. Replace when dirty. Lay down the vacuum cleaner as shown. To remove filter cover, slide upwards the buckle as shown. By holding the filter cover as shown, pull it out towards you. Filter Cover Grasp the HEPA exhaust filter and pull out to remove it. HEPA Exhaust Filter HEPA Exhaust Filter To install back the HEPA exhaust filter, put it into its original position. Filter Cover Place the filter cover to the body as shown and press into its original location. Slide down the buckle as shown. WARNING Do not operate vacuum cleaner with a clogged exhaust filter or without the exhaust filter cover properly installed. Important: If HEPA Exhaust Filter become too dirty, it causes that air suction fall down. HEPA Exhaust Filter cannot be cleaned and should be replaced at least once a year. 5

THERMAL PROTECTOR This vacuum cleaner has a thermal protector which automatically trips to protect the vacuum cleaner from overheating. If a clog prevents the normal flow of air to the motor, the thermal protector trips and turns the motor off automatically. This allows the motor to cool in order to prevent possible damage to the vacuum cleaner. TO CORRECT PROBLEMS: Turn the vacuum cleaner off and unplug the power cord from the outlet to allow the vacuum cleaner to cool and the thermal protector to reset automatically. Check for and remove clogs, if necessary. Also check and replace any clogged filters and empty dust bin if necessary. Wait approximately sixty (60) minutes and plug the vacuum cleaner in and turn back on to see if the motor protector has reset. WARNING Electical SHock or Personal Injury Hazard Disconnect the electrical supply before servicing or cleaning the vacuum cleaner. Failure to do so could result in electrical shock or personal injury from vacuum cleaner suddenly starting. REMOVING AND INSTALLING LOWER PLATE Before servicing any parts, unplug the mains lead from electrical outlet. Always place paper under nozzle whenever lower plate is removed to protect floor. Place body in upright position and turn vacuum cleaner over to expose lower plate. Latches Release lower plate by rotating the lower plate latches to the UNLOCK position. Remove lower plate and remove any residue that may exist in belt area. Reinstall lower plate by hooking front end of lower plate into slots on front of nozzle. Press lower plate onto nozzle and secure by rotating the lower plate latches to the LOCK position. Latches Lower Plate REPLACING BELT Replace belt whenever a burning rubber smell caused by excessive slippage occurs. Beater Bar Remove lower plate. See Removing and Installing Lower Plate. Motor Shaft Belt Remove beater bar by carefully lifting out. Remove worn or broken belt. Motor Shaft Beater Bar Belt Groove End Cap Clean beater bar and the end caps. 6

Loop new belt around motor shaft and beater bar belt groove. Reinstall beater bar by inserting the end cap of the beater bar to the slot for both side. After reinstalling the beater bar, turn it by hand to make sure that the belt is not twisted of pinched and that all rotating parts turn freely. Reinstall lower plate. See Removing and Installing Lower Plate. CLEANING BEATER BAR Clean beater bar for Nozzle and Mini Turbine Nozzle after every five uses. Turn vacuum cleaner over, exposing the beater bar for Nozzle. Cut off any carpet pile and lint entangled around beater bar for Nozzle and Mini Turbine Nozzle with a pair of scissors. CLEANING EXTERIOR AND TOOLS Clean exterior using a clean, soft cloth that has been dipped in a solution of mild liquird detergent and water and wrung dry. DO NOT drip water on the vacuum cleaner and wipe dry after cleaning. DO NOT clean tools in dishwasher or clothes washer. Wash tools in warm soapy water, rinse and air dry. DO NOT use tools if they are wet. 7

REPLACING MOTOR ASSY AND OVERLOAD PROTECTOR - Following step replacing belt and Beater bar unit. - Loosen 3 screw from the Lower plate. - Remove the 1 screw from the Pedal shaft to detach the Pedal. - Pull out the pedal shaft slightly. - Loosen 3 screw at the frame and remove together. - Push the hook to unlock Floor nozzle upper. 8

- Trun back the set. - Open the cover of Floor nozzle upper. - Pull the Nozzle hose from the Extention wand holder. OVERLOAD PROTECTOR - Take out the Floor nozzle upper and remove nicely. - Can see the Overload protector and Motor cap. - Loose 4 screw at Motor cap and remove. - Motor Support plate and take out the Motor assy. REPLACING FAN MOTOR UNIT, CAPACITOR AND FUSE ASSY IMPORTANT : Before replacing any part always DISCONNECT FROM THE ELECTRICITY SUPPLY. - Pull out the Handle from Body assy and move up the Dust compartment assy. - Turn back the set. - Loosen 2 screw at the Rear body assy. - Turn back to normal. - Push up the Buckle to open the Filter cover. - Take out the Filter cover. - Loosen 10 screw at the Front body and take out. 10

- Make sure all the part place before dismantle or change to new part. - Location of Safety part. - Pull out the connector Capacitor from Fan Motor unit. - Pull out the connector wire from Fan motor unit. - After that move up the Fan motor unit. REPLACING ON/OFF SWITCH IMPORTANT : Before replacing any part always DISCONNECT FROM THE ELECTRICITY SUPPLY. - Loosen 3 screw back the set at Handle. - Open the Handle. - Turn back the set. TROUBLE SHOOTING GUIDE CONDITION CHECKPOINT METHOD OF INSPECTION CAUSE / REMEDY Motor fails to rotate (no noise is heard at all). Plug (fuse-link) (UK, Ireland only) Check fuse continuity. If there is no continuity, replace it. Motor runs but there is no suction. Noise or vibration. Power cord. Motor continuity. Carbon brush is in contact with the commutator. ON / OFF Switch. Hose or connector pipe. HEPA filter, Exhaust filter. Motor fan. Check power cord continuity. Check continuity between motor and lead wires. Check if there is gap between carbon brush and commutator. Check continuity across the switch terminals. Check clogs in hose or connector pipe. Check if filter are choked up. Check dust accumulated in motor fan. (It could happen if the v.c has been used with a filter. If there is no continuity, replace it. If there is no continuity, replace it. If there is gap between carbon brush and commutator. If there is no continuity, replace the switch. If there is a clog, remove it. If choked up, replace it. If filter is dirty, clean or replace it. Replace the motor and check filter condition. (never dismantle the motor fan). Carbon brushes. Check uneven wear of carbon brushes. Replace the motor. Beater bar unit does not rotate. Beater bar unit Beater bar unit (bearings) Belt. Remove the Beater bar unit and check if the each bearing support is broken or deformed. Place the Beater bar unit on a flat surface and turn the rotary brush to check bearing noise or distance. Remove base plate (Floor nozzle lower unit) and check if the belt is broken or loose. If each of them is deformed or broken, replace the beater bar unit. If there is bearing noise or distance, replace the Beater bar unit. If the belt is broken, replace it. 13
