VIVID PALETTE design is nature BEET RED Inspired by the humble American Southeast Beet, which just so happens to be one of nature s boldest strokes of genius. Patterns evoke traditional hand-dyeing techniques. Gorgeously saturated colors connect design to dye. The result is unpredictable, random and unabashedly vibrant. 16 17

Just one of the bold discoveries we made in the process of PATTERNS INFORMED BY THE INTRICATE WEAVINGS OF FIBER creating this collection. Delicate 28 luster and heavy gauge filaments. Blurred textures with subtle flecks and saturated gradations. Process makes imperfection. And lots of a-ha! moments along the way. 29

OUR RECLAMATION STORY CONTINUES When it comes to sustainability, we go green in a big way. In fact, 3.4 million pounds last year alone. That s how much reclaimed carpet we ve kept out of U.S. landfills. La Quinta Inn & Suites and Extended Stay America are just two examples of why our recycling program is the best in the industry. Here are two stories of how a partnership in reuse, recycling and sustainability can be as friendly to the earth as it is to the wallet. We can think of no happier ending than a bold, new beginning. 3.4 MILLION AND COUNTING 44 45
Type 6 nylon carpet from La Quinta renovations is sent back to the Shaw Evergreen Nylon Recycling Center in Augusta, Georgia. There, it enters the Cradle to Cradle process of becoming new carpet again. The hotel chain was drawn to Shaw Hospitality Group s pricing, service and sustainability and a partnership that resulted in more than 1 million pounds of carpet diverted from landfills. LA QUINTA INNS & SUITES 46 47
EXTENDED STAY AMERICA The sustainability story continues at Extended Stay America. The hotel chain has recycled more than 52,000 mattresses and box springs; 62,000 CRT televisions and more than 2.8 million square feet of carpet. Extended Stay America partnered with other companies in the past, but none had the breadth of our Cradle to Cradle program. Extended Stay appreciated that our carpet was competitively priced. And they found carpet recycling costs to be offset by reduced landfill costs. They told us Shaw Hospitality Group has been a great partner all through the process: from the first sampling of the product to confirm it could be recycled, to the start of the project, all the way through product ordering and shipping. 48 49
VIVA LAS VEGAS! A PROCESS STORY 50 PALMS CASINO RESORT IVORY SUITE Klai Juba Architects 51
Imagine a design as bold as Elvis and yet as subtle as a desert breeze. The design team at Klai Juba Architects wanted a carpet that looked like it was grappling with the temptations of Vegas. Good vs. evil. Light vs. darkness. Audacity vs. grace. Creeping from the living room to the bedroom...and vice versa. That was the concept behind the carpet design we created for the Palms Casino Resorts spectacular Ivory Suites. The challenge was to design a 30-foot-long mirrored pattern, varying in color density, to create a seamless flow from the bedroom and living room. PALMS CASINO RESORT Our clients knew the design solution would need to be part carpet design, part creative installation. Since we had already created a custom design for the 418 Premier Guestrooms, Klai Juba Architects knew we were up to the challenge. The whole process from concept to installation took about four months. According to the design team, The client absolutely loved the carpet. They felt the design added a high level of excitement and dimension to the space. The result: a carpet design that helped to enhance not just the space, but the experience of the resort as a whole. What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. We like to think that what happens in the Palms stays with you forever. IVORY SUITES FLOORPLAN 52 53
