GROVEWOOD HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION, INC. JUNE 2017 NEWSLETTER www.grovewoodhomeowners.org PRESIDENT S CORNER Grovewood Residents, Summer is here and I know everyone is looking forward to their summer fun. Whether you plan to spend a summer here as a staycation or looking forward to that big vacation, we hope everyone has a great summer. Please be mindful of your speed in the neighborhood. There will be lots of our great children out playing all summer and we want to keep Grovewood a safe place to play. With summer comes heat, and the rains, and then mosquitoes. Please ensure to keep any standing water from summer rains drained out of buckets or other areas it collects. This will help keep down the mosquito population. Let s not forget hurricane season has started. Please keep an eye on the weather and let s hope Tampa Bay has another year of no storms. We appreciate everyone s turnout at the spring picnic on Clearwater s Neighborhood Day. Everyone we talked to enjoyed the time and we had a lot of positive feedback on the improved food options including the BBQ which was catered from Frankie s Patriot BBQ. That looks like a future staple for the next picnic. Grovewood HOA has created a private Facebook group. Look further in the newsletter for details on signing up. Thanks to all residents that help make Grovewood a great place to live. Do not hesitate to raise any concerns or feedback to any board member. You can email the board at grovewood@gmail.com. Clint Snedeker, President

Those restrictions that affect residential watering are: 1. Established lawns Watering only once per week before 8 a.m. or after 6 p.m. on the following days Saturday for even numbered addresses and Sunday for odd numbered addresses. 2. Landscape Hand watering on any day before 8 a.m. or after 6 p.m. 3. Vehicle Washing can be done once per week on your established watering day (see #1) with a shut-off nozzle. For questions or a complete listing of watering restrictions contact the Water Conservation Hotline (727-562-4987).

SUCCESSFUL GROVEWOOD SPRING PICNIC The residents of Grovewood gathered on April 8 to enjoy an evening of food, fun and festivities at our Annual Spring Picnic. The weather was beautiful, the food was delicious and the picnic was a great success. We partnered with the Clearwater Neighborhood Day events and received a grant from the City which allowed us to have additional entertainment for the youth. We had the small bounce house for the little ones and the Video Game truck for the older kids. We also had visits from the Clearwater Police, Clearwater Fire and Rescue, visits from some Clearwater officials and the highlight of the evening was a visit from the Kona Ice cream truck with treats for everyone, courtesy of the City of Clearwater. What a fun night it was!!! Don t miss this fun event next Spring!!!!

KEEPING GROVEWOOD BEAUTIFUL Summer is almost here and leaves, grasses and greenery are growing tall and strong. Please keep your tree branches trimmed to 8 feet above the sidewalk to allow clearance for all pedestrians. These trimmed branches should be put out on Friday to be collected by the City s Solid Waste Department. It is a code violation to allow grass and weeds to grow over your sidewalks, so please keep your sidewalks edged and free of all debris to comply with this City Code. We are also getting into the rainy season and it is important to keep all trash, debris and pollutants such as fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides from flowing into the storm water system, polluting the environment and causing blockages in the storm pipes. Remember that the storm water flows directly into ponds, lakes, rivers and bays. By maintaining good vegetative ground cover such as grasses and plants on your yards, you will prevent soil and sediment from washing into the drains and you will also improve your curb appeal and will help keep Grovewood beautiful. GROVEWOOD S FACEBOOK PAGE We are excited to announce that Grovewood HOA has joined Facebook. This is not a requirement for any resident to join, but we welcome you to request to be added. The page is a private Facebook page open only to those who live in Grovewood. The page is for residents only to share any relevant information of neighborhood happenings and for the board to offer another vehicle to communicate any news of special events within the community. Any misuse of the page or inappropriate posts will be removed and you may also be removed from the page. We look forward to the residents joining and sharing any valuable information with each other. To access the page, please search for Grovewood Homeowners Association within Facebook. You must have a Facebook account to be added. You will see the familiar Grovewood signage on the title page. Request to join the page. Once you are approved, you will have access. SYMPATHY AND CONDOLENCES We want to send out our sympathy and condolences to the family and friends of Chris Cowden, who passed away on May 2. Chris and Ann lived in Grovewood for 14 years and Chris served on the Board for many years. Our sympathy and condolences to Pat Snelling and her family on the loss of her daughter, Patty, who passed away on May 15.
