TPIE January 15-17, 2009 FNGLA's Tropical Plant Industry Exhibition takes place every January in Ft. Lauderdale at the Broward County Convention Center. This is one of the biggest tropical plant trade shows in the United States, attracting buyers and sellers from all over the world. Contact FNGLA for more information. www.fngla.org Wintergreen Show in Athens GA January 22-23, 2009 This relatively young show put on by the GGIA in Athens GA in the dead of winter has become a very well-attended event thanks to its excellent educational program. Although the thermometer may be hovering around freezing outside, the action is hot inside the Classic Center with locals like Dr. Allan Armitage, Dr. Michael Dirr and other UGA profs presenting programs. Keep an eye out for former football Coach Vince Dooley who has become an ardent plant enthusiast since auditing one of Dirr's classes. Grandiflora exhibited in Athens for the first time in 2008, bringing lots of winter color like Dianthus, Achillea, Diascia, Nemesia and Shasta Daisies. Gulf States Hort Expo January 30-31, 2009 Exciting regional Trade Show in Mobile AL and one of the first of the season. Great food at local restaurants, gambling just down the road in Biloxi MS, and Grandiflora will be there at the show with a unique display to kick off the trade show season. The Mobile show often coincides with Mardi Gras, and the city has nightly parades complete with marching bands, floats, and bead throwing.

Pictured is Grandiflora's 2005 "A New Idea is Born" booth there. South Carolina Nursery and Landscape Association Trade Show February 6-7, 2009 One of the first shows of the year. Grandiflora will be there and you should be too. Room rates for hotels right on the beach are very inexpensive that time of year, and there are plenty of great restaurants and golf courses nearby. Photo shows our 2002 Our Plants are Survivors booth with Alan, Pete Sommer and Pat Stevens. Spring Garden Festival March 28-29, 2009 Over 200 exhibitors, music, food, seminars, children's activities, and plant auction with celebrity auctioneer Storm Roberts of WKTK - at Kanapaha Botanical Gardens in Gainesville FL, the last full weekend in March. This year's theme is 'Swamp Things", and our seminars will focus on aquatic and marginal plants, creating landscapes in wet places, pond construction and the critters that inhabit our Florida swamps. Floriculture Field Day May 13-14, 2009 The Perennial Field Day merged with the UF Annual Trials six years ago, and then the Florida Nursery, Grower, and Landscape Association (FNGLA) joined in a partnership with the University of Florida, Grandiflora and Ornamental Outlook Magazine to make this event even bigger and better. Great speakers, networking, guided tours, a silent auction to benefit our local botanical garden, Kanapaha, and horticultural games make this a seminar not to be missed.

Join us! Call or e-mail Grandiflora or FNGLA for more information. www.fngla.org Southeast Greenhouse Conference June 18-20, 2009 The Southeast Greenhouse Conference in Greenville SC is a trade show for Floriculture products and liners combined with an educational program for growers, landscapers and retailers. Grandiflora has an exhibit there each year. At the 2002 show, our "Survivor" booth (see photo) won a prize and got us lots of attention! Grandiflora has also won two "Best Mixed Container" contests at the SEGC. Perennial Plant Association 27th National Seminar July 19-25, 2009 The next PPA Symposium will take place in St. Louis Missouri. Last year's 26th annual meeting was held in Philadelphia PA and included trips to Longwood, Chanticleer and Swarthmore College. The hotel location in the downtown area allowed us to wander the streets of Philly and take in all the sights, sounds, and tastes of that great city. Tours this coming year will include a visit to the Missouri Botanical Garden as well as stops at amazing retail and wholesale nurseries and private estates. Contact the PPA for more info at www.perennialplant.org

The Landscape Show (formerly known as FNATS) October 1-3, 2009 in Orlando FL The Landscape Show (FNATS) - a Trade show and educational seminar in Orlando FL - falls on October 1-3 in 2009. This 3-day event is the biggest horticultural trade show in Florida each year. In 2004, our Plantnik booth won best large exhibit! In 2006, our Painters booth also won best large exhibit. Photo shows our sales people in our 2002 Survivor Booth. In 2008 we constructed a bowling alley complete with a wooden lane, balls and pins, and salesmen in Grandiflora bowling shirts. Our 2008 theme was an election theme.. Center for Applied Nursery Research Open House October 2009 The latest info from the University of Georgia's research program is presented at this annual event held at the CANR located in McCorkle's Nursery in Dearing GA. Photo shows the Grandiflora crew attending one of the field days at the CANR a few years back when we were all younger and trimmer - Harold Strom, Pete Sommer, Alan Shapiro, and Jun Gomez. Great Southern Tree Conference December 2008 Join nursery and landscape industry members from across the Southeastern United States for the Great Southern Tree Conference (GSTC), in December 2008 in Gainesville, Florida. GSTC is a unique educational program developed through the joint efforts of the FNGLA and the University of Florida IFAS. The conference is devoted entirely to tree selection, landscape, production, establishment and marketing issues in the Southern United States. The complete program and registration information is available at www.greatsoutherntreeconference.org. You

may also contact Linda Reindl or Julie Markowitz at the FNGLA office, 800-375-3642 for more information.
