The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock or injury. Do not use outdoors. Do not let cord hang over the edge of the table or counter, or touch hot surfaces. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven. Do not use appliance for other than intended use. To disconnect, turn any control to off, then remove the plug from the wall outlet. Do not place the base of your kettle in a metal tray. If water spills over in to the tray, and a build-up occurs, it could become dangerous to touch. Position the kettle to the rear of work surfaces to prevent over hanging of the power cord. Water can remain hot for a considerable time after boiling and can present a scald hazard. Before pouring, wait until the kettle has stopped boiling and then pour steadily. If the kettle is tipped too much, the lid may fall off or open. WARNING: A cordless kettle must never be filled on its base. An electrical appliance should not be used if it has been dropped at any time. In such cases, please contact with authorized service center. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS

SHORT CORD INSTRUCTIONS A B C HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY A short power cord or a detachable power cord is provided to reduce the risks of resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord accidentally. Longer detachable power cords or extension cords are available any may be used if care is exercised in their use. If a long detachable power cord or an extension cord is used: 1) the marked electrical rating of the detachable power cord or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance. 2) If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a grounding-type 3-wire cord, and the longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the counter top or table where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over accidentally. Thank you for purchasing our kettles. Read the instructions that apply to most of our models carefully and keep them to hand. SAFETY INSTRUCTION This product has been designed for domestic use only. Any commercial use, inappropriate use or failure to comply with the instructions, the manufacture accepts no responsibility and the guarantee will not apply. Only use your kettle for boiling drinking water. Only plug the appliance into a earthed mains socket, or into an electrical extension lead into an integrated earth connection.check that the voltage indicated on the rating plate of the appliance corresponds to that of the mains voltage. You are advised not to use a multiple adapter plug. Do not use the kettle when you have wet hands or bare feet. Take care not to place the kettle and its base on a hot surface, such as a hot plate, or to use it near a naked flame. Immediately remove the mains plug if you notice that the kettle is not operating correctly. Do not pull on the power cord to remove the mains plug. Do not let the power cord hang over the edge of a table or work surface in order to prevent the appliance from failing.

SAFETY INSTRUCTION Always remain vigilant when the appliance is on, and in particular be careful of the steam coming out of the spout, which is very hot. Also be careful as the body of kettles becomes very hot during operation. Only touch the handle of the kettle. Never touch the filter or the lid when the water is boiling. Never move the kettle when it is in operation. Our guarantee does not cover kettles that do not work properly or do not work at all because they have not been descaled. Protect the appliance from damp and frost. If your appliance has been damaged, if it is not working properly or if the power cord or the plug is damaged,we recommend that you have the appliance inspected. Any intervention to the appliance other than cleaning and descaling according to the instructions for us must be performed by an authorised service centre. Unplug the appliance as soon as you have finished using it for a long period of time and when you clean it. All appliances are subject to strict quality control procedures. These include actual usage tests on randomly selected appliances, which would explain any traces of use. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities,or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. Never place the kettle or its base on a hot surface such as a hotplate or use it close to a naked flame. Place on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface. If anything appears to be wrong with its operation, remove the main plug from the socket immediately. Any supply connection error will nullify the guarantee. Unplug the appliance and empty it if you stop using it for an extended period and when you clean it. BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME Remove all of the various packaging, stickers or accessories from both the inside and outside of the kettle. Adjust the length of the cord by winding it under the base. Wedge the cord into the notch.

USE 1 TO OEPN THE LID, ACCORDING TO THE MODEL Hinged lid: press if necessary on the locking system and pull backwards. Assisted opening lid: press on the locking system and the lid lifts automatically Automatic opening lid: press the button at the top of the handle Lockable lid: turn the lid the left to unlock it and lift it. To close the lid, press it down firmly or turn it to the right in the case of the lockable lid. 2 PLACE THE BASE ON A FLAT, STABLE, HEAT-RESISTANT SURFACE AWAY FROM WATER SPLASHES AND ANY SOURCES OF HEAT. Your kettle mus only be used with the base that matches it and its own anti-scale filter. FILL THE KETTLE WITH THE DESIRED AMOUNT OF WATER You can fill it through the spout, which ensures better maintenance of the filter. As a minimum, cover the element (or the bottom of the kettle) with water. Never fill the kettle when it is on its base. Do not fill it above the maximum level, or below the minimum level. If the kettle is too full, boiling water may spill out. Do not use without water. Check that the lid is closed properly before use. The kettle must always be used with its own filter. 3 4 POSITION THE KETTLE ON ITS BASE. PLUG IT INTO THE MAINS SOCKET. 5 6 7 FOR KETTLE THAT FEATURE A TEMPERATURE SWITCH, SELECT THE TEMPERATURE ACCORDING TO YOUR NEEDS. TO START THE KETTLE Press the on/off button positioned on the top or the bottom of the handle according to the model. FOR KETTLES THAT FEATURE A TEMPERATURE SWITCH If you move quickly from position 1 to position 2 after heating the water, the kettle has to reinitialise. If you think that this is taking a long time, you can add cold water to speed up the start of heating. 8 THE KETTLE MAY HAVE AN INTERNAL LIGHT, DEPENDING ON MODEL

9 USE THE KETTLE WILL SWITCH OFF AUTOMATICALLY As soon as the water reaches boiling point or the chosen temperature. You can stop it manually, before removing it from its base to pour the water. Depending on the model, the interior light and the indicator light will go out when the water reaches boiling point. Make sure that the on/off button is in the off position after boiling and that the kettle has switched off before removing it from its base. Throw away the water from the first two/three uses. Do not leave water in the kettle after use as this quicken the formation of scale. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE CLEANING YOUR KETTLE: Unplug it. Let it cool down and clean it with a damp sponge. Never immerse the kettle, its base, the cord or the electric plug in water: the electrical connections or the switch must not come into contact with water. Do not use scouring pads. CLEANING THE FILTER: The removable filter consists of a mesh to retain the particles of scale and prevent them falling into your cup when pouring. This filter neither treats nor removes the hardness of the water. It thus conserves all the qualities of the water. With very hard water, the filter can clog very quickly (10 to 15 uses). It is important to clean it regularly. If it is wet,put it under a running tap, if dry, then brush it gently. Sometimes the scale will not detach itself,it will then need descaling. To remove the anti-scale filter, lift the kettle off its base and allow to cool. Never remove the filter when the appliance is full of hot water. DE-SCALING: De-scale regularly, preferably at least once a month or more frequently if your water is very hard. To de-scale your kettle: using white vinegar: fill the kettle with 1/2 l of vinegar. Leave to stand for 1 hour without heating. using citric acid: boil 1/2 l of water. add 25g of citric acid and leave to stand for 15 min. using a de-scaler specifically for plastic kettles: follow the manufacturer s instructions. Empty your kettle and rinse 5 or 6 times. Repeat if necessary. TO DE-SCALE YOUR FILTER: Soak the filter in white vinegar or diluted citric acid. Never use a de-scaling method other than that recommended.

IN THE EVENT OF PROBLEMS THERE IS NO EVIDENT DAMAGE TO YOUR KETTLE The kettle does not work or stops before coming to the boil Check that your kettle is properly connected. The kettle has been switched on without water or an accumulation of scale has caused the overheat cut-out to operate: allow the kettle to cool and fill it with water. Descale first if scale has accumulated. Switch it on: the kettle should start working again after about 15 minutes. The water tastes of plastic: Generally, this happens when the kettle is new, discard the water from the first few boilings. If the problem persists, fill the kettle to maximum and add two teaspoons of bicarbonate of soda. Bring to the boil and discale the water. Rinse out the kettle. IF YOUR KETTLE HAS BEEN DROPPED, IF IT LEAKS OR IF THERE IS VISIBLE DAMAGE TO THE POWER CORD, THE PLUG OR THE BASE OF THE KETTLE Return your kettle to your After-Sales Service Centre, only they are authorised to carry out repairs. See the guarantee conditions and list of centres in the booklet supplied with your kettle. The type and serial number are shown on the bottom of your kettle. This guarantee covers manufacturing defects and domestic use only. Any breakage or damage resulting from failure to comply with the instructions for use is not covered by the guarantee. Reserves the right to modify the characteristics or domponents of its kettles at any time in the interests of the consumer. Do not use the kettle. No attempt must be made to dismantle the kettle or its safety devices. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its after-sales service centre or a similarly qualified person, in order to avoid any danger. PREVENTION OF DOMESTIC ACCIDENTS For a child, a burn or scald, even if slight, can sometimes be serious. As they grow up, teach your children to beware of hot liquids to be found in the kitchen. Position the kettle and its supply cord well to the rear of the work surface, out of the reach of children. If an accident does occur, run cold water over the scald immediately and call a doctor if necessary. In order to avoid any accident: do not carry your child or baby at the same time as drinking or carring a hot drink.
